So I'm just gonna be flat out honest here. As honest as I know how to be. I've been banking with TVA for a LONG time. I went in this past 5/26/23 and a very young lady assisted me. Even though some of the conversation wasn't banking related she at least ACTED like she cared. Most of the time people might not actually care about the conversation but if you at least act like it, it goes along way in customer service.

if you have been charged overdraft fees, and taken advantage of by this bank, here is some advice that can help you! read on. i have been banking with tva for several years, and i am in the process of leaving, obviously. there are 5 ways you can be helped here, and i will explain the 5 ways clearly. 1. if you go to the atm on a weekend or holiday to deposit cash or checks, and the atm is not working again, as usual, get out your phone, take pictures of the atm and make videos of what has happened. then you have to call back on the next week day, miss work, lose wages, and wait on hold, but because you have documented the bank's failure to provide you instant deposit, which is a benefit of you membership, they have to put back your overdraft fees because they caused the deposit delay. 2. if you notice that your direct deposits are late being posted, and they try to pass the buck, request to speak directly to the deposits and ach department. they get behind a lot, and you need to point this out to them, and insist that they put back your overdraft fees. there is a portion of the deposit process that can get behind because of the way this bank is poorly operated, and that can delay you receiving your funds, and it their fault, not yours. they have put back fees for me 6 times because of this. some of them will try to lie and argue with you, but just keep persisting. 3. if you deposit cash in the drop box after hours and they lose your funds, go to the bank every day and fill out forms, and report it stolen to the police, until they find it. make a video of yourself and take pictures while you are making drop box deposits for your records always. 4. go in person to the bank and require they provide you with a hard copy document that proves you have opted out of every single possible type of overdraft fee/protection service. take all of your bills off of auto-pay. log into your accounts and pay bills daily with your debit card instead on your computer. take out cash to make purchases, and stop sliding your card at checkouts, because your transactions will constantly change order on your app and your user panel online. sometimes, big batches of transaction are held for a whole week, and then suddenly all hit your account on a weekend, it's absurd. 5. change banks as soon as you can. i wish i knew what bank to reccommend. they are all pretty terrible. pick your poison i guess. good luck out there.

Love the bank hate the operating system, makes almost impossible to talk to a live representative at any time. Almost forces you to only speak to automated systems. I Hate it.

I'd give them no stars if I could. They charge fees out the ASS like any other bank. To call themselves a credit union is a joke. I only kept them because they are the only place I can deposit cash in the area. I have two other banks and another credit union and this by far the worst bank. I'd sooner Bank with regions. just another example of a financial institution taking advantage of people that are poor. Awesome job.

ATMs don't work half the time and they are so low you can't use them if you have a truck. Rates are comparable to other credit unions. No zelle or instant payment options. App is outdated.ATM deposits are not instantly available. No time frame or schedule for withdrawals to be processed and nothing shows up as pending . The tellers/ staff is the only thing good about this bank.

We have banked with them for years. Their staff is always friendly and helpful! Their rates are better than other banks or credit unions.

Might be great if you’re used to banking from 20 years ago. It did not work for me. Staff is always helpful and they give great rates on loans but as far as checking goes….eh, it needs a major update. In the digital age, this bank feels like it’s in the dark age. Far behind in technology than other credit unions I’ve belonged to. Due to their slow technology I’ve noticed payments not posting until days later even during the week. I’ve never had this issue with my other credit union or bank for that matter. They are very slow. I’m used to payments or deposits posting within 24 hours. Balance doesn’t update quick enough, available balance is always wrong and often way less than what you have but the app reflects otherwise.

They gave me a truck loan, where I had multiple offers but their offer seemed better so I took it but they neglect to mention hidden fees.If I knew about these hidden fees I would not have accepted their offer. I will refinance.Edit: 1/2/22 - They replied with an email telling me to email them and I did and 3 weeks later I have still received no response. Makes sense. Again..get a loan somewhere else. So now I'll drop another star.

Knoxville TVA credit union goes above and beyond for anything that you need. The staff is always friendly and kind. Never had any issues with any of our accounts or loans and they will do whatever it takes to meet your financial needs. JoLynda and the staff are the best.
