About Ames Plantation Office
Ames Plantation, a historic 18,400-acre property in West Tennessee, is set to become the state's newest State Forest. The Hobart Ames Foundation partners with the University of Tennessee's AgResearch and Ed Center to maintain and study the land and its history. Visitors admire the well-maintained stables and barns, as well as the Old Jones Cemetery, where family members are laid to rest. The large cotton plantation, once one of the most productive in the area, continues to be a testament to the region's agricultural heritage.
