Let me start by saying in the 12+ years & multiple stylists that I've been getting highlights from, I have never complained.
I'm new to the area & booked an appointment 1 month in advance for a full head of highlights. When I arrived for my appointment, Kala was juggling 3 other clients at the same time. She did an extremely sloppy job & sent me home. I didn't realize how bad it was until I got home & got a good look at it. When I sent Kala the pictures & asked if she could fix it, she said that it would "blend after a couple washes" - which it might have if she used any toner or smudged the roots, but she did not do either of those things. She said I could come back in 1 week for her to fix it, but I have a job where people can actually see me... I was not about to wear that mess for a week, so I found another hairstylist who fixed it for me.
The haircut that Kala sent me home with was lopsided by about 2 inches as well.
When I confronted Kala about all this, she said "I was overwhelmed & guess I had a bad day... I can't make everyone happy" - Her overbooking herself should not have become my problem. She should not have let me leave her salon, knowing how bad it looked. I asked for a refund, but of course, she refused.
Kala has ZERO INTEGRITY to let someone leave her salon looking like that!
And to Kaya's response... HELL NO... I was perfectly still, as this was NOT my 1st time getting highlights - you will not blame me for you're terrible work! Your complete lack of integrity is SHAMEFUL! I cannot believe you right now... Should I post the pictures of our text convo where you flat out admitted that you were overwhelmed & did not do your best work???
Do not test me Kaya...

I was looking for a colorist and a great cut in Middle Tennessee. I found Kala and I am grateful I did. She was awesome with service and skill. She gave me a perfect cut and I love my highlights! She was hilarious and my hair looks amazing! The parking is good, reasonably priced, and she doesn't double!

I had a wonderful time going with my sister and mom to get my haircut and color. The color is outstanding and a great haircut. I highly recommend anyone wanting to get color go to this hair salon!

I received Cezanne treatments from Kala twice. She is a perfectionist! She knows the application process and my hair looks amazing. I have coarse gray curly hair that's frizzy. After the treatment, the frizzies are completely gone and my hair has a nice sheen! I just love how my hair looks! I recommend Cezanne as an alternative to Brazilian blowout. It is formaldehyde free with no toxic chemicals!

I go there all the time and love it. I've never had a bad experience and I've taken my daughter and son also and no issues. Kala takes amazing care of us and I wouldn't go anyplace else

I have followed Kala to two different locations over several years. She is the absolute best in the entire area. She always listens but always gives great advice too. She does exactly what I ask for and her color selection is beautiful and high-quality. She's extremely personable and her shop is in a great location and a fun way to spend the time while you're getting your hair and nails upgraded. She has everything and her prices are so reasonable.

I would just like to say that the stylists that performed these terrible services are now gone or have received more training. Our nail dept has an experienced nail Tech that only does nails and nothing else. She is great at acrylics and everything. If you have had a bad experience please come and give her a try. At Kala's all operators are booth rent meaning that they rent a space from the shop. Sometimes it's hard to know what kind of experience they have until they have done services. I , as the owner do try to get them training if I see the problem. Sometimes clients leave and I don't see their work. With that in mind please if you have a problem or concern please feel free to contact me Makala the owner and I will be happy to listen to your feedback. Constructive criticism is how we learn. Last here is a post I posted on fb. I hope this helps to put my business in perspective. Thanks for reading. I don't usually share too much but today hmmmm... I would just like to say that being a business owner is one of the hardest things I've ever done. People ridicule your business when they never even been there and because we're not perfect. My whole salon has the most caring wonderful talented young individuals. They give their whole heart every day to come in and try to make people feel better about themselves and look pretty only sometimes to get ridiculed because they did one little something wrong or maybe because of the way they look or how the shop looks. It really shouldn't be about anything but the way they perform their work. I started the shop almost 3 years ago for a fun place for people to come and enjoy themselves and to look and feel great when they left. Little did I know that I was going to get all of the back slash. So out of all this what I'm saying is until you've been in that person shoes please don't judge about a person. I do the best I can to try and make my salon a great place. I do hire students out of school because I believe in them. Anyone that knows me knows that I have the biggest heart of all. I have given everyone a chance even when they didn't deserve it. This being said please come in and see our shop for yourself before you take someone else's opinion on it. I appreciate everyone that reads this and comments. Every Saturday we have customer appreciation day and there's food for everyone. We have specials all the time so that client can afford to come back in more often not because were cheap but because we like to see our clients in our chairs and not break the bank to be beautiful. Great atmosphere and everyone working are welcoming! Kala does excellent job with hair and very reasonable pricing on color/cuts.
