I recently I went to this bank. My dog tore up some of my money and I taped it back together as best as i could. It was two 20s and a five. I completely understand why they would not take the five back because there was some parts of that five that were still missing. BUT the two 20s were completely put back together and they were taped back together. and also the serial numbers were readable and they matched. I took them to the bank to deposit the money into my account. The first lady that I spoke to was very nice. She is the ONLY reason I am giving 3 stars. I explained her my situation and she completely understood and she tried to help me as best as possible. She lady told me she thinks that the 20s will be OK but she’s not 100% sure so she asked another lady. I believe the others lady’s name is Kimberly or Kim or maybe Kathy but I’m not 100% sure. This lady was very rude. She looks at the money and raises her voice (in a yelling annoyed manner) and she said that “I cannot take any of this money back, it’s unacceptable and it can’t be taped together, and I need more of the money, I cannot take money that looks like this.” she completely dismisses me, didn’t try to hear what I had to say or anything and then she just stormed off. Keep in mind the two 20s were completely taped back together. The way she talked to me and the first lady was very disrespectful and if the money couldn’t be returned then that was fine. All she had to say was I’m sorry but we can’t take this but she did not have to be as rude as she was. I went to a different bank (that wasn’t Simmons) and they gladly exchange the money out for me without a problem. I am having a little bit of a problem understanding why the other bank could change the money out for me but MY bank could not deposit the money into my account.

Terrible experience. My refinance took 4 months to close. They kept asking for documents that I already provided, they were disorganized and had no communication. I would leave messages and emails with no return communication. I was finally able to get a close date after threatening to move to another bank (which wasn’t a threat) and working with a manager. Then I received late payment calls from my original mortgage. A mess and not worth the stress and frustration. Pick another bank who cares about their reputation and customers.
