I got transferred here for an esophagram for difficulty breathing and swallowing at 7 am. I had been sitting here since 3 a.m., and people who got checked in after me go through first. When I went up to the front desk to inquire how soon I would get the procedure done, considering my brother is in Lebhoneur, the lady said they were still getting ready, almost an hour after the scheduled time. If I had known that me possibly asphyxiated wouldn't be urgent enough I would have not even bothered transferring over here, especially so soon.

I witnessed a family member admitted to the ER, hooked up to tubes that left him immobile. He asked the nurses for a urinal bottle several times. Meanwhile, the nurse laughed with coworkers and never once came to bring one. The lack of compassion and bedside manner is horrendous!! Where are the compassionate nurses that actually care??

It’s unreal that the time in the waiting room is over 7 hours! My wife’s chart was on the patient portal 3 hours after getting in but we still were there over 7 hours. We went early so we could find help before our children got out of school but we ended up having someone else pick them up. Horrible horrible horrible

They prioritize WHITES here. My mother came in with severe chest pains, nausea, dizziness etc after being sent here from her primary care earlier today. Despite the waiting room being a mixture of black and white faces, 15hrs *and counting) later, only the black ones are left here while the white patients have all been comfortably admitted. They gave my mother a blanket, they haven't been back to check on her despite her being in tears from pain...and I'm utterly disgusted with the level of negligence. DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU ARE A PERSON OF COLOR...YOU WILL NOT BE TREATED THE SAME!!

I had surgery recently. They listened to what I had to say and answered all my questions. They were excellent about updating my waiting loved one and seeing to his needs as well!

I literally had to track down a staff member because no one was sitting at the registration desk. And then I regretted thay because it's so rude and ghetto in here. I'll let you know how it turned out because I'm still waiting for someone to actually address my issue. Vandy would never...

I had a MVA in Jan of 21. I stayed at this hospital about a month. I received excellent care especially while I was in ICU. I know they saved my life. I’m so very thankful I was sent here.

There are several families in the waiting room of CVICU, at Methodist Germantown. We are cleaning up and have called for trash to be picked up as it hasn’t. The trash is from 2 days ago . Each family has called and have been told someone will come nothing yet . Inside the Cvicu no one comes to clean the room or mop the floor but the nurses tidy up the best they can .I’ve been to Methodist several times over the years never have never experienced anything like this .

My grandfather has been in the ER for well over 24 hours now and hasn’t received a pillow and was given cold food. He didn’t see a doctor for the first day and was told by nurses that they weren’t even allowed to tell him what was wrong with him after putting up a sign on his door warning of airborne pathogens; he’s had multiple visitors, so if this does end up being an infectious disease, Methodist did a terrible job of mitigating the spread of it.

Was sent to this hospital after my husband experienced chest pains at his doctor’s appointment in Germantown. She suggested that he really needed to go to emergency room…Methodist LeBonheur Germantown. Patients were there and had been in emergency for 12 hours. We checked in at about 4:30 pm with him having chest pains and left arm still there at 9:00. If you are sick pray …see your primary care doctor or out patient facility! I say this because the staff of so called professionals are not professional and very uncaring. The clerical behind the desk were kind.We were 2.5 hours from home!

Many things on my mind for almost a year, December 13, 2022. I couldn't really post anything due to legal "stuff", but now I have permission. My sister Sheila Powell Martin is now under hospice care due to anterior posterior lumbar surgery, which even my mom had when she was in her mid 70s. Many people we know have had this surgery. My sister, after being in pain and sometimes dependent on walker finally decided to have this recommended procedure after all other alternatives did not help. On December 13th, MEHODIST GERMANTOWN HOSPITAL in Germantown, TN was her surgical hospital site. During an anterior posterior lumbar surgery, it's protocol a vascular surgeon make incision to clear the path of vital arteries and veins for orthopedic surgeons to reach surgical site without injuring those vital organs This is normal procedure for this surgery The vascular surgeons only job is the initial cut, because this is his specialty. He made incision on my sister and not only nicked, but "cut" my sisters Vena Cava, the largest most noticeable vein in body, especially for vascular surgeons. In rare occurrence, the vena cava may get nicked,(.001) especially if scar tissue, obesity or anatomical anomalies, which were ruled out by scans before surgery. After cutting her vena cava, she bled out, the surgical team waited over 45 min to 1 hr for another vascular surgeon, who was at a different hospital, to come assist in repairing the surgeons mistake! Once my brother-in-law was informed, hours later, being he thought still having back surgery, it was suggested to call in family members due to they didn't think she'd survive. My family, including my mom, from outside of Nashville, other oldest sister and family from Paducah KY, all immediately headed to Methodist Germantown. She survived as all medical personnel described as a miracle. Unfortunately, my sisters outcome was vascular dementia. It's been 1 yr on 13th and as of yesterday, she at age 63, is now under hospice care.I just knew that night they would have attorneys lined up at their door, but not one. They finally were able to hire reputable attorney but have now been told they can't even get it in a court in front of judge or jury. Nobody wants to take a case against a medical professional in this state. This entire occurrence is even documented in the surgical reports. They have literally ruined an entire family's life without having to take any accountability. My brother-in-law had to sell his 40 yr business in order to take care of her with Dr visits, insurance issues(different story), and gathering paperwork for different legal issues. Sheila was more upset at 1st because back pain just got worse because they couldn't perform surgery. In May she was able to have posterior surgery which helped the pain. However, after initial surgery she was already late 4th/early 5th stage of vascular dementia due to no blood or oxygen reaching brain during the wait for other surgeon to arrive. Legal excuse is that is considered a risk of the surgery? I'm not sure why the word malpractice exist. I'm quite confident the risk didn't list the doctor may literally cut through the largest vein in body and dementia and death could occur. It's insane a man can drink RedBull and because he didn’t grow wings as commercial animates, he can receive over 8 million, but my family can't get this incident even to court in front of judge. If this isn't a case, there is no such process of protecting patients from incompetent doctors. I would say to always read all risks, but a surgeon cutting through biggest vein in body isn't on the list. This incident and surgeon is well known in this facility and never even acknowledged.Copied to Gov Bill Lee
