I really enjoy the Bookstore. The staff is very friendly, and are well trained in helping the students find their textbooks. My time there was a really good experience, and I would definately recommend anyone to the Bookstore.

I'm feeling very mislead after purchasing my books through the campus bookstore. When I was looking at the list of required books this term I compared the ISBNs to amazon/google. None of them existed on any other platform. One of my books was only available as a physical copy, and I discovered after buying it that the bookstore had placed it's own ISBN barcode on top of it, and underneath the original label had a completely different number that I was able to find on amazon for less money than what I had purchased it for. You are taking advantage of students by playing these games, shame on you.

Sherman Brown totally humiliated my Freshman after failing a math test and was a big factor in his decision to leave college. I encouraged my son to reach out to his professor for help and he was told that JCPenney always needs employees. Way to encourage our youth Vol State.

They got it right!!!! During this time of social distancing, self monitoring and basically adjusting to a new normal, this institution has got it right. They have signage up every where to lead you in the correct direction and they have QR code's to scan and self report so you can easily flow from office to office as needed once you show proper ID & screening.Yes, it is all time consuming but they make it so much easier and the wait not bad if at all.

I transferred here for 1 semester. I’m so glad I’m leaving. I took a nutrition class. The teacher was literally so rude and gave me a 0 on an assignment work 25% of my grade that I did EXACTLY how she wanted it and then proceeded to give me low grades on the rest of my assignments that I also did exactly how she wanted them because she didn’t like me. I filed a complaint and I was told I was lying. EVEN THOUGH I HAD PROOF. The physics teacher didn’t know how to use to interne

The Volunteer State Community College changed my life in incredible ways. My professors help to build my classmates and myself up to confident levels. I met my best friends here and I am a better person because of it. This school is an amazing gift.

I started this January and this is one of the best school experiences I have ever had so much better then highschool I was scared my first week but that was silly bc all the teachers are welcoming and so kind all they care about is your success and wanting you to learn something new the students are so kind and helpful I have been going for 4 whole weeks so far and I have not once seen any negativity to any student or staff I'm glad to be a student at vol state!

They have cheap books, but good luck receiving them. I suggest not to rely on speedy delivery. Tried for 2 weeks to get a book and was told everyday I called it would "arrive by tomorrow". They did not follow through and my order slipped through the cracks at least 3 times. I actually placed an order for the book for digital rental twice, they canceled the first 2 online digital rentals (due to errors on their part) and then dragged their feet shipping the 3rd hard copy I had to buy new just to get. I paid 3 times the amount of the rental for the new hard copy plus $18 for next day delivery. They STILL didnt get it done and have once again promised to get it sent by tomorrow night. Unacceptable. They offered to email my teacher, but that doesnt help now that I'm behind. Will probably go with Amazon next time for more reliable access. They definitely need a better process. I'm sure I'm not the only student having trouble. Thanks for refunding the shipping costs, but a discount or credit on my next book for the trouble I went through would have been nice.

I bought a book from eFollett online in August and picked it up in the bookstore on campus. I was told that after the class was over I would be able to sell the book back. Yesterday, I tried taking the book back and the lady working was a little snappy with me and said I needed a receipt. I came back in the next day really hopeful and sure I would be able to sell my book back. When I told them I needed to sell my book back, they looked at me like I was crazy and told me they did not need my book and I could not sell it back. Super disappointed with the service I received from them. On top of that, a lady made a racist comment to a student whenever I walked in so that did not make it any better.

This is a great bookstore. When I started attending vscc(back in 2001(yes I'm a pro student)) the bookstore charged whatever they wanted since there was not any competition. Now, with google and Amazon, they need to maintain competitive prices.
The staff there is awesome! They might not know me by name but when I come in they recognize me as a long time customer. I know one of the ladies has been there over 10 years so the company does treat them well enough to have great retention! I like knowing the profit is not just going to the man up high...
All in all, if you try to get better prices and service anywhere else, you are going to have a hard time!!!!
