Simmons bank has been nothing short of a constant inconvenience for me and my family. I first started banking there when it was first state bank and it was great. From the moment Simmons took over I noticed a huge difference. The customer service at the Gallatin Tn location is awful. Ive been a customer at the same bank for almost 2 decades. Never any overdrafts, or anything that would cause the bank to question my integrity. Always kept thousands of dollars in my account. Long story short, they have inconvenienced me on several occasions. One being last year when my mom was in the hospital. I had 30k in their bank and they refused to cash a 300.00 dollar insurance check in my moms name before the check became void. My mother needed that money. She banks with Macon bank and we didn’t have one in my area at the time. With all the driving and errands I was doing I couldn’t drive to her bank in time to cash it so I just threw the check away and gave mom the 300.00. Yesterday, on December 13, I tried to cash a tax check for my little brother that was set to expire on December 20, the check was for 2300.00. I had 31k in the bank and banked their for 20 years and they were very rude to me and once again denied me. I took it as them accusing me of fraudulent behavior. The teller was loud and rude and making it seem like I’m trying something fraudulent with customers staring my way. It was truly the biggest embarrassment ever. When the finance manager came out to see what all the commotion was she was even ruder than the teller. I asked her about closing my account out and she wouldn’t allow it. She tried to say I had pending transactions when I knew I didn’t. She finally gave me a cashiers check for 30k and sent me on my way like I never even mattered to them. A good riddance attitude! I couldn’t believe her lack of customer appreciation and loyalty appreciation for a 20 year customer. I walked out feeling devastated! There’s more. About three months prior to yesterday, my debit card was compromised due to the banks mess up. They contacted me over it, they did refund the money, but then lectured me on how I need to place my money in a money market account in order to keep it safe. When I inquired about the benefits of that particular account I was told it didn’t draw interest, but the benefit was keeping my money safe. I thought banks were supposed to do that anyway. I will be getting a new account at a different bank with the inconvenience of having to re-do all my direct deposits/withdrawals. But it’s worth it after the way things went down. Wow is all I can say!

Will close my CD when it matures. A few times was shorted interest because they used a lower incorrect rate. Many deposits on occasion and not given computer copy receipt of transaction. Teller gave me a copy of the hard written deposit slip, which proves NOTHING!!!. Spoke to manager and had major attitude. I have a large amount of money invested with them and they have an attitude. Constantly have new tellers. Also closed on Saturday. Had enough. Will take my business elsewhere.
