Chuck, the tour guide, gave us an A1 tour of the house. (His bushy mustache gave him a unique appearance.). Very personable and provided plenty of details about the house and battle. History came alive as we walked through the house and battlefield not far from house. Well worth the visit!

We had a wonderful tour with a very knowledgeable guide named Chuck. Thank you for a very insightful visit. We could practically see the battle - such amazing history. We definitely recommend a visit to the Lotz House.

Will was our tour guide, and I have to admit, I'm not much for historical tours... but this one had my interest from beginning to end. He made each room's details entertaining, switching between past and present to make the history come to life. The people in our tour asked plenty of questions because they were engaged by Will's presentation. I wished there were more rooms to learn about when he was done... it was fun learning about the different Lotz family members.

Ghost tour review. We attended the ghost tour, while the host was personable and we did experience pipe smoke aroma the tour largely consisted of pictures from previous investigations and walking from room to room being told to come back for the regular tour if we wanted to know the history. Tying the paranormal events to the history of the house would have been more interesting and was what I'm experienced on other historical haunting tours. I'm guessing the regular tour is great but wouldn't waste my time and extra cost for the ghost tour.

We stopped at the Lotz House Museum this summer while on a road trip. Our kids (15, 14, 12) complain that we drag them to far too many boring historical sites, but all three of them enjoyed this tour, and they insisted that I should leave a review.
We visited on a Sunday morning in July. We waited for about ten minutes for a few more people to gather before the tour began, and we enjoyed browsing the gift shop and the small collection of artifacts (many of which were connected with interesting stories) while we waited.
Chuck, our high school history teacher turned tour guide, made history come alive with the quotes and personal details he shared that revealed individual people's experience of the Battle of Franklin. Our tour was about 75 minutes, and it left a lasting impression.
The 15-year-old said, "I thought it would be boring, but the guide was actually really interesting to listen to."
According to the 14-year-old, "That tour was cooler than most because it didn't overwhelm you with information, it told the story of one family's experience. Information isn't interesting, but story is."
And the 12-year-old insisted, "You need to leave a review to tell people that the guide was really funny."
Those who have trouble standing for long periods or climbing stairs would struggle on this tour, though there were a few seats available in the entryway where our tour began. If you can manage it, though, this tour was definitely worthwhile. Three generations give it a thumbs-up!

This evening my 13 year old daughter and I took the Women’s History Tour at the amazing Lotz House. I’ve been on Kelly’s day time tour of the home before, so I knew it would be great, but I was absolutely blown away by the evening tour! She is incredibly knowledgeable and easily brought to life some incredible women of Franklin, as well as a few others who weren’t from the area, but have had a great impact on our country. I really appreciated how she talked about the seemingly mundane aspects of life that relate to all of us today, to sharing some of the fantastic stories that were these women’s’ lives and experiences! On the way home, my daughter couldn’t stop talking about what she learned and how much she enjoyed the tour-and coming from a teenager, I think that alone speaks volumes! I grew up in Franklin and tonight Kelly gave me a new appreciation and love for my hometown. So thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with us this evening, Kelly, and I sure hope this tour is an opportunity that more people will take advantage of, whether they live in the area or are visiting!

You can't spend a more enjoyable nor informative 90 minutes in than at the Lotz house. Nor will you get more bang for your buck, literally and figuratively. The mood is ultra laid back, and all the guides are great. If you happen to draw Chuck, consider it your lucky day; no matter where you're from, he'll know something about it and will engage you in a funny and friendly way.Bring tip money, because by the time this unsung tour is over, you'll feel bad if you don't take care of your guide: It's that good and that unique.Yes!

Truly awesome tour! I've taken both the Ghost Tour and the regular day time tour. The Ghost Tour is on Saturday nights after normal hours. For this you need to get your tickets in advance but it is worth it! Our guide Kelly was very knowledgeable about the Ghost that occupy the home. She shared stories, photos, video and recording of paranormal events. A couple of weeks later I went back for the history tour which is during the day. Our guide Chuck was so good and had so much knowledge and history to share. I learned so much about the Lotz family from the tour,if you're in the Franklin/Nashville area you should try to take the time for the tour you will be grateful you did

This house has so much history! The Lotz family had an amazing story. Our tour guide, Chuck, is extremely knowledgeable , a good sense of humor, and really brings the story of the house, it's inhabitants, and the soldiers who fought and died here to life! Some of the small personal details he shared about the soldiers, and the Lotz family, really add to the feeling of being immersed in the time period. I only wish we would have had time to shop in the museum store afterward!! Fascinating story here, and Chuck tells it as if he was really there!Highly recommend this!!
