I made an apt for an oil change, a headlight and an issue with my sunroof. I pulled in promptly @ 8:30 and was ushered to Taylor Jones, in the service area. I was warmly greeted and let him know that I needed to cancel the oil change part as my son needed a ride from the airport. I was quoted a charge for evaluation as far as the sunroof went and of course the fee for the headlight. Taylor had me walk out to my car with him where he quickly and deftly reattached the "accordion" section of the roof, explaining why and how he could do that. Then he went into the parts section of the service area and came out with the bulb that he devised I would need. He popped it in and said "you're all set and I'm not going to charge you for any of this. Now you can be at the airport to pick up your son." I was gobsmacked and so grateful that he even waived the standard evaluation fee. I always have an amazing experience making the trip from Mt Juliet worthwhile.

If car buying can be an enjoyable experience, then Radek and the team at Darrell Waltrip Subaru comes the closest I've ever experienced. Radek (sales) was incredibly knowledgeable about the different vehicles, the options available, and listened to what I wanted. The team answered every question I had and I never felt pressured into making any decision. I also appreciated that they don't add a bunch of "fluff" dealer add-ons to the price that don't provide actual customer value. I visited six different dealerships and ultimately decided to purchase my car from Darrell Waltrip Subaru and am happy I made that decision.

This is my 2nd experience with this service center, but should should have learned from my first. Apparently they are aggravated to have to deal with warranty issues. The first visit was because one of the rear seatbelts was jammed and not functional at 40K miles and under warranty. The tech at that time thought the fix was to yank wildly on the seatbelt until it unlocked. I politely stopped him after about 20 tries and took the car to a local shop, where it was fixed correctly but of-coarse I had to pay. Today's appointment was to to address a DCM system issue with the car trying to constantly access the non-existent 3G network causing battery failure that Subaru sent me a letter about. From the start the tech seemed irritated for some unknown to have to leave his cubical. I told him that I had had to replace the battery multiple times and the current one is obviously showing signs of problems, which is a telltale sign of this known issue. He basically just snarked through a short conversation and told me that even if a test showed the problem, that they would not update the system as stated by Subaru, but would just perform a bypass that would make the Starlink feature unusable again in the future; unless I wanted to purchase an additional plan, wait 2 weeks and come back. The other guys "working" were just looking and chuckling. The vibes here are just bad and don't breed confidence, so I'll happily drive a little further down the road to another Subaru shop.

I was super lucky to work with Mercedes Mattingly at Darrell Waltrip Subaru when I bought my (very slightly used) 2022 Crosstrek Limited a few days ago! On the phone, Mercedes patiently answered all my questions, looked up CarFax reports for me, and sent me more detailed photos and videos of the particular car I was interested in. When we met a couple of days later, and I test drove the car, I quickly realized that Mercedes was not the "stereotypical" car salesperson! She was genuine, warm, patient, very knowledgeable, and low pressure. I decided to buy that car, and she stayed with me during the next several hours to help me navigate through all the steps leading to ownership. When we reached a little hiccup (not their fault), she was patient and empathetic. What I particularly found refreshing about Mercedes was her honesty; if she didn't know the answer to a question, she would find someone who did. I hadn't been inside of a dealership in 12 years, and this is my first time owning a Subaru. I was so impressed by Mercedes, along with the rest of the team who helped with the financing, that I would not hesitate to recommend her and Darrell Waltrip Subaru.
