I want to start by saying they have one of the Best Subs in town.. Unfortunately, the Service is horrible!! Not everyone because they are a couple of good people in the deli. However, the bad ones over ride the good ones.. I really wish I'd gotten names but I sadly didn't!! I've had 3 bad experiences in the last couple months & one awhile back. The first time with a really bad experience was when I came in to 3 subs. The young boy had the WORST attitude. Rolling his eyes, looking back at one of his friends. It was clear he wasn't happy making my 3 sandwiches. He blew every time I ask for something. Finally the last sub was a bacon & he put it on the sub without warming it up (straight outta the frig)..I ask if he was gonna heat the bacon & he just looked at me a few minutes then slung it off & thru it on the toaster thing. Again rolling his eyes and blowing.. Finally, I just said forget it & went to talk to a manager whom clearly was so dismissive over my complaint. The boy told him I was fussing about prices?!! I never once mentioned price. It took me awhile to come back. I've had some good experiences it's usually in the evening.. So I returned for lunch today. To get 2 subs. There was two older ladies. The shorter, grey haired women w/ glasses. She has worked there for a little bit & was training a tall older lady. The shorter lady that has worked there for awhile clearly didn't want to wait on me cause she had a attitude at the start..I ordered a club add bacon & a bacon Sub. Both large ones. She ask " Mayo, Lettuce, Tomatoes?" I replied "and onion, green peppers & pickles &.." she interrupted me "THAT IS NOT a BLT & I'm gonna have to charge you for a full sub!!"... all subs are priced at 6.98 and That's what I have always been charged. Me "Yeah, I know it's $6.98" Her "No!! It's $3 more cause you got more than a BLT"'.. I told her that I've gotten dozens of subs here before & NEVER been charged cause I get more than lettuce & tomatoes.. I told her I know the other sub would be more cause of the added bacon. She finally went & talked to some woman that I'm guessing was in charge & she told her that they didn't charge extras because of veggies.. She still came back with an attitude. And said "I was wrong about the bacon but this one is more!!" I said "I know that one is more because I added bacon to a club"... I've had a couple other bad experiences of overly rude people at Ingles. I'm guessing they allow this behavior but I'm done. Even if their subs are the best I'm just tired of being made to feel like crap because I'm buying something from them!! They new a whole new bunch of managers and not the young ones with no experience. Mature manager that know how to treat the customers that keep them in business... I literally was shaking from being treated so bad AGAIN!! As I was leaving tho I stopped to get drinks at Starbucks located in Ingles & the young dark haired guy that took my order was overly friendly and made my day with his kindness.. Maybe he seen it in my face or most likely just a kind person that still believes in good customer service. I will be leaving a review for them and it will have a full bar of stars unlike this review..Ingles is so over priced you would think at least they would be kind!!

The level of math competence required to count change for a till is usually acquired by 3rd or 4th grade as it is the most rudimentary adding and subtracting process. Not in Elizabethton at Ingles apparently. I just left the store from purchasing a footlong sandwich, a drink, and some fruit. The girl at the register told me my total was $12.61. I handed her a 20 dollar bill and was reaching into my pocket to get out a penny, I told her "just a second, I will hand you a penny so you can give me back 40 cents in change" to which she looked at me like a deer caught in headlights and said "I can't do that, I already put the amount in and have to give you back what it says". I said "fine" and waited for her to give me back my money with 39 cents in change. I then reached into my pocket and pulled out a penny. I added it to the 39 cents she gave me and said "now, do me a favor, give me back 40 cents" and I put the change into her hand. She looked at it, then at me (Again like a deer caught in headlights), then at it again, and said "40 cents?" I said yes, she opened her till, counted it out, and handed me back 40 cents. There SHOULD be a basic iq test given to people before putting them in charge of counting, receiving, or giving out a companys money. Then again, from what I have seen of their managerial staff, it really does NOT surprise me in the least. I have noticed on most of my visits however, the salad bar which used to be well kept up, has a lot of very brown lettuce, sometimes slimy. I used to buy salads at this store, but stopped when it took more time to pick through the brown lettuce to find any green lettuce. Won't be doing that any more.

Full service shopping to pick up a few things that weren't present in the ALDI on the way here. This store has a huge parking lot and it's quite clean. No random shopping carts around and no trash on the ground. Inside, bright aisles and well stocked shelves. Prices are decent and they have everything from meats to cheeses, deli and seafood, lots of frozen, tons of sodas and snacks, large bakery. I found everything I needed today. At the checkout, I was able to put a fake phone number in and get my VIP discount. Hooray for Tommy Tutone. [Review 14960 overall, 462 of 2021, number 263 in Tennessee.]

I don't go to Ingles unless I absolutely have to. The employees are weird, nice usually but weird. The store has a good selection of organics and other grocery needs.. It's extremely expensive though.

I get up to Elizabethton a couple of times a year to visit my parents and at some point we always end up shopping at Ingles. We've been doing this for the last 15 years or so. It's always been a very pleasant shopping experience. It's brightly lit, spotlessly clean, and well organized. They have a very nice selection of products, and the Deli is fabulous! They have a wonderful soup / salad bar, and a great selection of meals: meatloaf, potato salads, breads, desserts, etc ... We've purchased flowers and balloons and greeting cards there too. The prices are reasonable. Everyone I've encountered has been helpful and friendly. I'm not sure what happened with the previous reviewer's Drama, but I've -never- had an issue with not having an Ingles Card. I simply mention that I'm from out of town and they happily charge me full price. If my mom is with me she'll offer her Ingles card and I'll get a discount. Whatever! Go and see for yourself.

I went to this Ingles in Elizabethton TN today to buy a few things, I have a cabin nearby that I visit about a dozen times a year so I don't shop there often, anyway I went to pay and they asked for my Ingles card, I don't have one, told the guy I did'nt want one, I have too many of these things to keep up with, he said he would get me a new one, but then I had to fill it out, the heck with that, I went to the manager and he said his hands were tied so I walked out and the main thing I am complaining about is he let me. It's a well built store, nice inside, so they go to all this trouble just to be able to sell people things and they don't give the Manager the power to make someone happy in a situation like this, weak management style, I will never shop at any Ingles again because of this, I went down the street to food city where I aslo don't have a card and they simply typed in an over ride code, simple and they will get my business, whoever came up with this at Ingles should be fired
