“This is a top-notch hardware store that was completely demolished in a tornado. But, they didn't quit or give up. Until they got a new building, they operated out of small temporary buildings and even with a tiny inventory, each time they had what I needed. They stock interesting little gadgets and items that make a good present. The staff is friendly and willing to assist. It's a very clean store and neatly stocked. Their credit card machine is the best I've seen. The ? pen writes smoothly, and the detail of the signature is perfect on the screen, which ends up looking like my actual signature, which also appears on the receipt. They have been in business a long time, originally on the town square. I remember going in there in 1970 before I started first grade. Next to it was Taylor Electronics, a TV repair shop, that also sold records, tape players, and accessories. In 1976, they sold Bata VCRs and one of the first projector televisions ever made. When I went to the electronics store, I always had to go to Vaughn Brothers next door, probably like everyone else did. They seemed to go hand in hand. Those were the days.”
