Our dog Nala hurt herself playing fetch running full speed and got stabbed by a stick somehow. She yelped when I touched her by her heart., but there was no swelling or puncture. We found a small dab of blood on her paw, but nowhere else so I left her alone for an hour to reevaluate. She still yelped and now she wasn’t eating (our girl is super food motivated) so we were worried about internal bleeding at this point. I rushed to South Rhea Animal Hospital as it was about noon the day before Thanksgiving hoping they were open. The staff welcomed us, got her weight, and into a room immediately. The Dr. was there shortly after and did a complete external exam on our frightened dog (Nala is petrified of vet clinics as she was a rescue dog who spent a lot of time at the pound) and everything looked ok. The Dr. recommended to sedate her so we could check her throat and then we saw it, a one inch by half inch gash under her tongue. They cleaned it out, stitched it up, did her nails too, prescribed meds and I can’t say enough great things about Dr. Ransom, vet techs, and the front staff. We are transitioning to Tennessee from another southern state and found our new vet for our dogs! Five stars!

Doctor and staff were so kind with our cats. Especially since we are not here full time. Showed me so much compassion when we had to put our very sick kitty to sleep (ESRD). Will definitely use again and highly recommend if you are looking for a professional vet office!

When I moved to Chattanooga, I needed a vet, and on someone's advice I went to the big box store vet. That was a horrible experience for my dog and myself. My "subscription" finally ran out and I looked for another vet. My friend and neighbor recommended South Rhea. What wonderful people! A well run clinic, full range, reasonable prices, and they didn't scare the peepee out of my fearless dog!Charlie and I are in for life now. We love this place. You can't go wrong herCharlie and Don

My dog has been to 2 veterinarians in chattanooga and they charged 3500.00 for a surgery that south Rhea completed for a little over 1000.00. It’s not just about the cost…This Oasis for animals is just a jump across the pond from chattanooga and my pup received so much Love and Kindness !All shelters are full because many people can’t perform the best care because of cost.South Rhea understands the importance of animals receiving quality care through talking to humans and explaining procedures, helping to prioritize procedures for many incomes.Every single medical team member from the second we walked in the door to the second we walked out was welcoming, and warm.We will never go to another vet again. Rhea was home and heaven for us !

Place says that someone has to be financially responsible to help this kitten that’s dying! It’s a stray cat that I grabbed out of the heat that is sick and needs help! These places are being ridiculous now. I thought vets are suppose to help animals that are sick and in need of help. This is Absurd! Thanks for “Nothing”!

I took a dog in, because he had a growth on his belly. Vet, didn't think it was any thing bad, but, if I wanted it removed, she would do it. It was big like a big speckled lima bean in depth and big as a quarter. She would give me a price, what it would cost to remove. When leaving, the system was down. I was told, she would send me the cost when they came up. I got my receipt by email, no price on surgery. I called the next day, and got a nasty snappy remark from staff, she's busy, when she gets a chance she WILL CALL U AND LET U KNOW!!!!!AUG22 , well,, that was a year ago. Still waiting on that called. Funny, I get messages to buy meds and now it's his year check up, but, still nothing on surgery. Hum?My dogs r my family. They go on trips and probably eat better than most children. Sleep in the bed w me.I still make trips back to Clarksville, the one vet there, her prices r good ,like here, but, least they contact u and show more concern about ur animal. And have a caring staff.Price was good. Staff, hateful, and apparently, vet wasn't to concerned about growth on my dog. He yeps if I happen to touch him around that area.I'll make appts in Clarksville, when I know I'll be going. Usually, there, I get told an estimated price while speaking to vet.

Extremely professional and welcoming. I was able to take my pets to get rabies shots as a walk-in. It was in and out.

Our favorite veterinarian. Even though we moved 2 counties over we still prefer going to South Rhea. Staff is friendly. Usually short wait times. Clean facilities. My pittie loves the female staff. He always struts.

Symptoms: Drinking lots and lots of water, uncontrolled urination, lethargy, whimpering, etc.We took our dachshund (Spencer) to South Rhea Animal Hospital and he was diagnosed as diabetic with a UTI. We were told to administer 2 units of insulin twice per day as well as an anti-biotic and to come back in 2 weeks for evaluation to see if the insulin dose should be changed. After two weeks, Spencer’s blood sugar levels had not changed so his insulin was increased to 4 units twice per day.My husband and I had to go out of town for the week so we took Spencer with us continuing his insulin regimen. He was NOT improving at all. He was drinking water until he was vomiting and could not keep any food down. He was losing a lot of weight and having seizures. We called the South Rhea Animal Hospital twice while we were out of town and explained Spencer’s new symptoms. Both times we were told to wait until Monday for his second evaluation. We were so worried we found a local vet who checked Spencer’s blood sugar and was told his blood sugar was so high that it would not register on the glucose meter. That vet increased the insulin levels to 6 units twice per day. We went back home the following day.The frequent urination, vomiting, seizures, etc. continued. The next morning Spencer started vomiting blood. We rushed him to the emergency hospital on Amnicola Hwy. They drew blood and diagnosed Spencer with kidney failure with no cure or treatment possible. We had to put our baby down and brought his little body home in a cardboard box. He is now buried in our back yard. South Rhea Animal Hospital mis-diagnosed and killed our precious boy.
