Newly rebuilt and now open. They have more gas pumps than they used to have. The inside is spacious and well organized. They have sandwiches in one back corner and ice cream in the other. When we walked in, the whole place had a wonderful barbecue aroma. But, sadly, when we went back to purchase some, alas, no barbecue. And that was not on a particularly busy day but they had simply run out. That's no Bueno, y'all. I'm guessing Bucees never runs out! Nice place, otherwise. If I were managing that place and ran out of meat, I would go Krogering! There's already plenty of sauce for sale on the shelves to mix with it! Five stars if it were not for that.

We passed several billboards advertising the bbq. We decided to stop and are so glad we did. The bbq sandwiches were good, but the brownies were better.

We needed a break after driving all day so we decided to stop for dinner here. We ate at the buffet, which was ok, we had terrible service, but saw tables with a different server get great service, so this was clearly an issue of someone either not caring or having a bad day. It just set the tone for the meal. The food was ok, they were having a lot of trouble keeping the buffet stocked a lot of hungry men and maybe a football team kept clearing it out. We were the only ones wearing masks including staff. That make me rethink our decision to eat here, but we were starving. The wait staff all had masks 'on' but only on their chins. It was clear management didn't care, and I got the FREEDOM 'MERICA vibe hard if you catch my drift. We won't be back, and I would never recommend this ok place to anyone.

Being a retired truck driver I favor any independent travel center to stop for a break, eat or park. The Tennessean has been a favorite place for me for a very long time. It is extremely clean inside and out, the staff are always friendly and professional and the food is great. We were on a personal trip and stopped for lunch and were not disappointed. The food selection was plentiful, the portions were large and the food was hot and delicious. We will always stop at The Tennessean when in our car or travel trailer whenever on I-65.

This place was convenient to walk to from our hotel, although there wasn't much of a shoulder to walk on. The food was very good and service was friendly. Husband had the ribs basket which was very tasty. I had the battered chicken which was also very tasty. I would have liked a bit more cheese on it, but then I'm from Wisconsin and love cheese. The batter flavor was really good. Prices were very reasonable.

Thanks, Jeten for being so understanding of our northern accent- most people don’t have as much patience! The food and service was spectacular!

I think the south hates itself, and I come from the south... An all you can eat BBQ buffet in a gas station during a pandemic. Nothing more southern than that! While I wouldn't eat at the buffet during normal times, but for sure not during a pandemic where people aren't wearing masks while getting their subpar BBQ. The gas station it self was nice.
