Kid-friendliness: Great service friendly staff ? ? ?

The food was great. I wish the staff was a little more helpful. My wife and I walked in, keep in mind it’s our first time at an IKEA, and we saw a counter selling food. I asked them if they had the meatballs and they said “no, we only have hotdogs today. They sell frozen ones further in the store.”
We didn’t know there was a bigger food court in the middle of the store, so we ended up getting a few hot dogs. Then as we shopped we stumbled across the full sized restaurant. We then proceeded to order a plate of meatballs.
I wish they would have told us about the restaurant further in, we could’ve saved some money and room in our bellies for the real food.

IKEA hates Memphis.
In the words of my six-year-old, “They’ve changed everything and it’s gotten worse”
We’ve been IKEA Family members since before the store even came to town (used to drive to St. Louis for it).
But in Memphis, they opened their smallest store in the USA, and they have done nothing but DECREASE the availability of items, DEGRADE the quality of service, and eliminate the perks that made a drive from midtown worthwhile.
For example, they used to serve breakfast at the restaurant. Not anymore. They used to have visible employees to speak to. Not anymore.
We came today to take a kid on a “mommy-daddy date,” to lunch (at the restaurant) and then shop for housewares.
12:15, in the middle of lunchtime, the restaurant is out of like 2/3 of the food, they weren’t keeping what they had stocked, the menu was broken without even a printed sheet to show prices, a broken coffee cream dispenser, apathetic servers, etc. No chicken tenders at all, no mashed potatoes, no fries, no salads..
If IKEA cared at all about this town, they’d invest in the store. What was supposed to be a nice time with our kid left them in tears. My wife rarely complains and even she was appalled at how abysmal the selection, quality, and service was. As it is, I will not give this IKEA another dime unless and until significant improvements are made.
Management should be ashamed, but the fault lies further up the food chain, with their corporate directors who apparently don’t want to invest in Memphis.
We ended up walking out and going to Abbay’s, a one minute drive away.

No cold food available. No sandwiches. Very impersonal staff serving what little food was even available. Very disappointing. All I got was water.

This restaurant is fine when they're open, but they aren't always open the hours they say. One time I went right when they opened and they weren't ready yet. Two other times, including today, I got there 30 minutes before closing only to be told they were closing due to short staffing. I'm not sure if they aren't paying enough or if they're staff is passing around an illness or just don't feel like coming in. Whatever it is, the manager of the restaurant or the store needs to address it. My 3 year old was very disappointed and asked me at least 30 times before we left the store why we couldn't eat at IKEA tonight...

This restaurant is located about halfway through the IKEA store. It's a nice little stop because if you're in IKEA you'll be walking a while. They have a nice variety of fresh, hot foods that are reasonably priced. On the outside of the restaurant, there are many different packages foods as well that you can purchase. It's clean and well served. Nice little spot in the confines of IKEA.

Long line but your food is good and fair priced. The problem is that when we arrived to order there was nothing left but meatballs and leftovers of chicken tenders. No mashed potatoes, no fries, just peas.We asked if we could wait, the lady serving said "no."We decided to eat meatballs, which are really good and vegetables (our grandson was really hungry and loves your meatballs)Worst expererience!!
Vegetarian options: Nothing to add

I really liked the ligonberry jam! The meatballs and food was mid but the cafeteria was clean and big, lots of decor and things to look at and explore.
Kid-friendliness: Lots of families and kids there

Excellent place to find inspiration to decorate the house. Good price and excellent options for very good quality accessories.

We went specifically to eat at the restaurant (we’re from out of town, so this is a treat for our kids). They close at 6:00, but we went through the line at 5:30. They were out of all sides except for rice and a few peas. They didn’t have enough Swedish meatballs for our family of four and wouldn’t prepare any more at the staff was pretty apathetic about it. Overall, our kids enjoyed their food but the customer service was non existent. Really disappointed in IKEA.
