I hardly ever write reviews but feel that I should in this particular situation. A little backstory of my experience here. I am on the road a lot as a fulltime RVer and it is always difficult to find good hair care services, especially in a new place. I looked up salons in the area for my specific needs and OMAET popped up. The reviews were great and lets face it folks, we live in a review driven society. Although it is apparent that nobody responds to these reviews, I am writing this to help others before they make the same mistake I did.
So I booked an appointment and came in to see Sidney 4 weeks ago for root color/ highlights/lowlights/trim which is a pretty costly appointment to begin with. I am picky and know the exact colors that have been used on my head for over 25 years. Sidney did a decent job. It wasn't until I got home that I noticed my hair in the back was uneven and the color looked way off at home too. I contacted Sidney, and to her credit, she corrected her mistakes and did a great job on the color and cut. I left satisfied that she now knew exactly how to do my hair. Fast forward to today. I came in again to get the roots and some lowlights done. I'm not exactly sure why this happened, but Sidney "accidentally " put the lowlights color ( 6n which is dark brown) on my roots. I noticed immediately that something wasn't right but when I questioned her, she told me to " trust the process" I said I do trust the process and know that developing color can look darker as it sets, even on blonde hair.
However, what she was putting on was getting darker and darker and when I questioned it, she told me it was the same thing she used before, which clearly it was not. As I was explaining to her that never in 25 years have my roots looked this dark processing ( now she was in the middle of doing the high/ lowlights ) when she suddenly jumped up and said we were going to wash it off because she had messed up and put the lowlight color on my roots. Obviously the color had enough time to kick in because it was dark. DARK. DARKER THAN EVER BEFORE FOR A ROOT COLOR. I MENTIONED THIS SEVERAL TIMES To NO AVAIL. Visibly shaken, Sidney put a bunch of highlights back in to breakup all the brown. It maybe helped a little, but not much. I asked her to redo the roots and she mixed some color and put it on my scalp. After about 18 minutes she said its time to wash it off. I asked if its blond and she said yes. We all know nothing processes that fast. When she finally got it dried, my roots were a chocolate brown color and I was absolutely mortified.
I just don't understand what happened and how Sidney could be so reckless? Thoughtless? Careless? How does one respond? She obviously did not charge me for this dastardly mess that she made of my head. She started crying and making up excuses. I just said " well, you did all the things I specifically asked you NOT to do." How does this happen? Everyone has "off" days, but when your off day ruins someone's hair and you then cry about it in front of them, it is unacceptable. This whole experience is unacceptable.
The thing is, I gave Sidney a second chance since she made good after messing up my hair the first time. That's just me. I can honestly say I have never regretted it more. Sidney did not pay attention to what she was doing and now I am paying the price. I also received chemical burns along the top and side of my hairline which are red and inflamed. I simply do not understand why she didn't listen. She would have had a customer for life. As it is now, I cannot recommend this establishment. Paying big money to not be listened to is not for me. I have never felt so confused and frustrated in my life. Of course, nobody ever put brunette root color on my blonde root hair before either. I truly hope this helps the next person who is thinking of spending their hard earned money here. I would think twice.

Went here based off of the many 5 star Google ratings and they did not disappoint! Quality cut and style along with personable friendly stylists! Prices are reasonable, also. Can be anywhere from $21 to $45 depending on the years of the stylists experience (which is pretty standard). We have definitely found our regular salon for the entire family here!

Chelsey is simply amazing in doing my lashes & the haircut & style was spot on what I wanted. I hadn't let a hair dresser touch my hair in several years! Chelsey is confident and put me at ease. I liked also how she explained the product as she was using them. Love her! Very talented!

Moving here from Florida it has been difficult finding a stylist that fits my hair goal needs. This was my first visit to OMAET Salon and I was impressed with the attention Cole gave me to the details on how I wanted my hair cut. Having fine, curly hair can be tricky for some stylist to cut it just as I want it. However, Cole’s technique certainly helped in achieving the style I was looking for! Also the scalp massage Cole gave while washing my hair was an A+!! Would definitely recommend Cole. Thanks! Salon has a nice atmosphere to it as well.

While I truly think Cole is a very nice young stylist & is doing his best. I feel that OMAET Salons owners push their staff to sell products to the clients that are completely unnecessary & instead of you being charged what you originally quoted you can end up with a bill that’s easily double your original stated price as was my experience, especially the very first time I went in for a root touch up & style with a $130 as my quoted price only yo reach the register and be hit with a bill well over $200. I was told on both visits how unhealthy my hair was yet when another stylist who has 25 plus years of experience looked at my hair she told me my hair was very thick & healthy especially for someone who has color treated hair. I feel like I was sold services that were unnecessary to jack up the price & I also think the sliding scale they use to rank their stylists by experience is a bunch of malarkey. My husband saw the manager of the salon who is supposed to be the highest level stylist & not only did she charge him $60 for a cut & bread trim, she also was not a master barber by any means & he was in her chair less than 30 minutes tops & paid extra just to have his hair washed after his cut which is ridiculous, I’ve never been to a salon ran the way this one is. Again I truly think my stylist Cole is an amazing young stylist I definitely feel that management pressures these stylists to upsell & to promote unnecessary services to pad the bill. I’ve found a new stylist in a different salon who as I said has more experience herself than the entire staff that’s “learning” & being promoted as they learn on the job which should be better explained prior to any customers appointment at OMAET the Salon. They charge you for every little thing & the appointments definitely feel rushed to get as many people in to make more profits for the owners. Just a guess here but I dare say each stylist gets a cut off each upsell & each product they push the customers to purchase. Just beware & if you know your hair, trust your gut. I pushed my doubts aside because I wanted & needed a good place to go but this Salon was a bad fit in the long run, especially when you go in for a blowout & style & you don’t even get a curling tool besides a brush & blowdryer used to create your look, which fyi I had no curls in my hair after paying $60 just for that visit. I’ve learned the hard way & hope others are vigilant in making sure they don’t get price gouged for services they don’t need or rushed thru their appointments just to keep the money growing for the owners. Definitely think Cole deserves a better working environment & no pressure to tell his clients they need treatments that they completely do not. People usually say you get what you pay for, in this case you pay for way more than you truly need or are charged at other salons that have been around longer than this “ training” salon. I tried to relate to 2 stars because I think Cole is a good stylist just in a bad situation with this owner/manager team. Do your research ladies & gentlemen as well!!!

I have been looking for a new hair stylist in a relaxing and very professional environment and I found that in my appointment this afternoon with Cole @ Omaet. Cole was excellent to work with & listened to everything I was wanting for my hair color, cut, & blowout. He recommended a treatment to help restore the protein in my hair that had been stripped in previous bleaching of my hair & also recommended wonderful new products to continue helping restore the health of my hair in my daily hair care at home. I’ve already made my next appointment with Cole & can’t wait to continue restoring my hair back to good health while still having the beautiful blonde hair that I dearly love. I highly recommend Omaet & Cole!
