Larry and Janet came today to do my annual inspection before winter. They were on time, knowledgeable, polite and set up my fireplace embers to look like a real fire ?

Fran has years of experience and helped us navigate through the decision-making process between choosing a wood versus a propane fireplace. We had many discussions and she always made herself available. She was indispensable. Our fireplace was ordered and installed right on schedule. Her team, Alex and Rory were great. Very knowledgeable and attentive to detail in the installation which I appreciated. They were professional and went about the work as if they had been installing the fireplace in their own home. I've worked with many contractors over the years and I can tell right away the quality of work I can expect. Alex and Rory gain my confidence right away. We're very happy with our fireplace and will be enjoying it for years to come. Thanks Custom Fireplaces!

I know 5 stars seems like a paid review but this is NOT one of them! They truly deserved the rating! Spoke with Scott Shaeffer regarding the appropriate stove to buy for our needs and most importantly our budget. He gave us his undivided attention of at least two hours to visit with us. He ensured we understood everything involved, looked at our measurements and drawings and did not try to oversell us. He is enjoyable to speak with and very knowledgeable! After the install was complete, he was within $7.47 of his estimated price!! C'mon now that's experience and knowledge! Something that is a MUST in today's financial world! The install crew arrived on the day and time promised. Josh and Lawrence were very respectful, and their attention to detail is exquisite! Even measured 3 times prior to srarting. They took great care to ensure they didn't damage any of the tile, and cleaned up when they were done! They were fun to speak with, and worked like a precision team together! Great couple of guys! My wife and I could not be more pleased with this expensive purchase regarding how we were taken care of from start to finish!! The interaction with Scott, Seth, Josh, and Lawrence made us feel like the most important customer they had! I've seen Scott and Seth interact with others as well, while at the store, and they treated them the exact same way! Very pleased with the overall experience!!

I called in to ask about a wood stove that I’m installing. I had the pleasure of talking with Fran, 40 years of knowledge in the wood burning industry. She was amazing and extremely helpful. Told me everything I need to know and more! I will be recommending her store to everyone I can. I will be doing all my wood stove shopping with them from now on. Truly kind, nice, and knowledgeable people.

Avoid This Business at All Costs!!!
I rarely write reviews, but my experience with Custom Fireplaces and More was so exasperating that I feel compelled to warn others. If you value your time, money, and sanity, steer clear of this poorly run establishment.
The communication throughout the entire process was abysmal.
I was promised a detailed timeline for the installation, but that was never provided. When I reached out to follow up, my calls were either ignored or met with vague, contradictory responses. I was left in the dark about details, including the date and time of the installation. On several occasions after install was finally scheduled, no one would show.
When someone finally arrived, the installation process was a complete fiasco. The installer arrived late and seemed completely unprepared for the job. They had no idea how to handle the specifics of the installation. To add insult to injury, they left the worksite in a mess with debris strewn everywhere.
When I called to address the issues, I was told that they considered the job complete.
Custom Fireplaces and More exemplifies everything that’s wrong with a service-oriented business. Their lack of professionalism, poor communication, and utter disregard for customer satisfaction was beyond frustrating. Save yourself the hassle and avoid this store. There are plenty of other companies out there that value their customers and provide a level of service that doesn’t make you want to pull your hair out.
