They have two stores and a great staff. The second location on the West Side of Cookeville has been open about 6 months and every time I go in they have new products. They have a great selection of what I was looking for and I would recommend this store to anyone that loves camping and hiking.

This was an impromptu stop while window shopping, that sadly left us wanting more. CMOS has apparently been in operation for quite awhile and their customer service is super friendly and super helpful, will help you find exactly what you're looking for, but sadly that's as good as it gets. It seems like this store was put here as an afterthought in case some local Boy Scout troop forgot something for a campout or hike, remembered at the last minute that they just had to have it, and also wouldn't mind paying out the nose for. Although they had several different types of outdoor activities covered (backpacking, trail running, camping, hiking, etc.), their very limited selection of products were all seriously overpriced for what you get. We purchased a Christmas ornament to help support a small business, but this was a quick stop.

I wish I could love this business but I can't because: I have been in twice and both times the guy working there has been lackluster at best. When you go into a pricey outdoor store they should know you're getting ready to spend some dollars. He acts like he could care less. They have some good stuff in the store but it's not as thorough as they proclaim on website. They've got zero good running stuff. Very little hydration equipment. I asked about a hydration or plain running belt. He said NO, just no. Then after pressing him he said he had a Osprey fanny pack type thing with bottles. Ummm ya that should have been a "yes, we have this" but he wasn't interested in helping me. The fanny pack wasn't exactly what I was looking for and the guy was so unhelpful I just left. The first time I went in I was looking for a very specific pair of chako sandals for my husband. He said he didn't have them. I pushed him a little that time too and low and behold he found a pair in the size I wanted. If he would have had this his way I would have left without the shoes. I could spend money all day long in a store like this but the poor customer service and lack of running equipment will keep me from going back. Sad! I gave two stars because I did get a cool pair of sandals there for my husband. Only because I was determined though.

Really nice selection, with a friendly and helpful staff. Best place to get Boy Scout/Cub Scout stuff and their prices are reasonable.

Good source for scouting supplies. Just wish the staff was a bit more knowledgeable in that area
