Overall decent gym, worked out here for a couple years but I decided to switch gyms recently. The equipment is decent and there's a good selection, actually a lot of useful machines that other gyms in Cookeville don't own. But I really dislike the bench presses they have, and it's my favorite movement so it's disappointing. They only have two benches, one is terrible to use (slippery, narrow, and very low to the ground) and the other one is okay, but the rack is slanted and it's almost always being used by someone seeing as it's the only decent bench press in the gym. The entire dumbbell/bench press area is EXTREMELY small and cramped, feels awkward to lift in. I think if they switched the placement of the bench presses with some of the machines on the other side of the wall then it wouldn't be as bad, but it's not very enjoyable the way that it is right now. They have a safety squat bar and a deadlift bar, which I'm a huge fan of using both so that's great. But a lot of the normal barbells they own are at least a little bent, if not extremely bent. This is probably from the heavy rack pulls I often see members doing. In my opinion, it would be better if they had dedicated bars for rack pulling so the bars would be kept in better condition. In conclusion, I like the gym, but I think it could be better in a lot of ways. They offer $5 day passes (as far as I know) so feel free to go and try the gym for yourself. I know I said I lot of negative things about it in this review, but I think it's still a good gym and deserves a try if you're in Cookeville and looking for a gym. They have tons of members with amazing physiques (including the owners) so it obviously works!

Awesome gym! Jennifer and Vinnie (the owners) are great and go above and beyond for people. No contracts so you can pay month to month as you go. Would highly recommend!

I started my membership in early 2020, but cancelled in April due to COVID. I have been waiting for a promised refund ever since. Their emails keep promising 5 days, then 30, then 5-6. I have been a fitness member of a variety of clubs for more than 30 years. This one is THE biggest disappointment!! Don't waste your money. There are other choices!

This was the worst place i have every been to. The equipment was very bad. look like they had more food then gym equipment. I want to work out. if i wanted to eat out i would go out to eat. When i tried to find someone they must of been in the back smoking because you can never find them. when you ask them anything they are rude. very poor place.

I called to cancel my membership and someone on the phone told me it was cancelled, 2 months later I check and they are still charging me. I go to the front desk to cancel it and issue a refund and receive the written form confirming my cancelation, then I found out afterwards their still charging me!! I call again and the girl on the phone is arguing with me that my account is not cancelling yet I have the written and signed formed confirming my cancelation. This is worst gym you can go to, theres hidden fees and just try and take your money, they don't care about good customer service. Go anywhere but here.

had a horrible experience at that club, its harder to get out of that GYM MEMBERSHIP THAN TO GET A DIVORCE. NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL!!! the people who work there are super deceiving and not trustworthy they will ask for your credit card info and just take out your money!

I joined the member on Oct 31, 2019. After I joined the member in one days, they have promotion: "No Payment until January, 2020." I required the Manager phoned me but Jasmine didn't phone me. They have one free coach in begin when everybody join the member. The lady text messages to me and we had an appointment on Saturday. I wait in the lobby but she didn't show up. This is waste my time. They have bad services and didn't treat customer respectful.

My son had a membership with World Gym four years ago. The last time he attended the gym was four years ago. He has an illness that results in his inability to go into public places. This year I discovered World Gym was still charging him for the gym. Fair enough. He did not go in and cancel. I went in to cancel for him after discovering this news. I explained the situation and asked for a refund of the latest charge. They would not budge. Sorry, but it is crookery when you know you are taking money for four years from someone on a disability, who cannot walk into the premises and cancel. It would have been a decent and, frankly, better business approach to simply offer the refund. Be aware of the kind of place you are giving your business to. This kind of crookery should not be supported.

My rant.... don't even bother joining .... World Gym. Can't cancel your membership even if you want to. Apparently after speaking with 2 different associates who gives you 4 different people to email the cancelation to and what to say in the email isn't good enough. After charging me for 2 more months and charging me a 35 surcharge both months I now find out you have to do it in person.... but get this.... they're closed. So you have to print the form then call and someone will meet you at the door. Print the form .... with what. Does everyone now have a printer. Unbelievable. World Gym obviously doesn't care for their customers especially during covid. I want to be reimbursed and my membership canceled.
