I have been bringing my dogs to petsense in Columbia for several years now. We have always had such a great experience. I have always felt comfortable and safe with my dogs going there. Kimmie always treats them so well and is so patient. The whole staff is amazing!

Staff was super friendly. We had just picked our dog up from the shelter and needed a tag. He was nervous and they were very patient with us.

Please go see Kimmie Fowler at the Columbia TN location. She did a great job with the hair cut for my Labradoodle.

Will never go back. I have gone a few times and had Lauren who was great! Had an appt with her for a Sunday. On Friday I got a text about me cancelling. I didn’t cancel. I called them up and was told by the gal on the phone that they canceled my appointment because “the gal who works on Sunday JUST QUIT.“. First off, I’ve been in management myself and never ever do you tell a client that someone just quit or was fired. That is extremely unprofessional. You always just say that person is no longer with us. But the way she said to me that she just quit was very snarky. It must’ve just happened and she was not happy. Plus, they should’ve called me, not texted me, and tell me that the person is no longer there so we have to cancel your Sunday appointment and reschedule. You don’t just send an automatic text saying “sorry that you canceled your appointment. We hope to see you again next time“ and don’t go and say It’s an automated text because again, they should have called me, the customer, personally not send a cancellation text.
So she asks me if I can come in the next day, Saturday, at 2 PM. I did not choose the time, she chose the time. I stated to her I could do 2 o’clock and she asked me to please be on time because it is a weekend.
I live in Spring Hill and it takes me 30 minutes to get down to this place. So I took my dog, drove down there and had arrived with two minutes left to spare. As I got in there, there was one gal who was doing a nail trim on another dog. I told her I was there for my 2 o’clock appointment and who I was and she told me to just wait a minute because the girl, Kimmy, would be coming out very soon. I stood there for about 5 minutes. After this girl was done with the dog on the table, she walked to the back room, opens the door and then proceeds to tell Kimmy that her 2 o’clock appointment was there. So the whole time I was standing there for 5 minutes Kimmy did not even know that I was there?? Then the first girl comes out and tells me that Kimmy is bathing a dog and will need to towel dry and blow dry him before she can take my dog and it would be another 5 to 10 minutes. Excuse me, but why do I have a 2 o’clock appointment when I’m there on time and yet I have to now wait for you to wash and dry another dog that is being done at my appointment time? So the gal told me to walk around the store and asked me if that was OK. So I said to her well not really because this should’ve been a five minute appointment and now I have to wait. I have other things to do and in a rude tone, she says to me “well it is a Saturday in the middle of the day“. Honey, I am not a walk-in. I had an appointment at a time that YOU told me to come, so don’t throw it on me that it’s a Saturday in the middle of the day.
So I take my dog and walk around the store. Now mind you the store is very small so it’s not like I can see a lot of things and spend a lot of time walking and waiting. Well, she told me it would take “5 to 10 minutes”. After 20 minutes of waiting and walking around the store, I said forget it and I gave up. Took my dog and drove back to Spring hill. On my way home I called PetSmart in Spring Hill and they told me even though it’s busy we can always do a nail trim. I got over there, They took my dog right away and he had a nail trim and was done within five minutes.
30 minutes after my appointment, Kimmy texted me to say “I’m done and I can do Nash’s nails now”. I don’t think so. First of all, you should not have texted. You should’ve called me and you should’ve apologized for being 30 minutes late to my appointment. Because I was originally told it would take her 5 to 10 minutes yet here it was 2:30 and NOW she was ready? Very unprofessional and I will never take my business there again.

Extremely Disappointed – Will Never Return
This was my first time visiting Petsense in Columbia, TN, after recently moving here. I’ve always gone to various places for grooming, and it’s always been a smooth experience. But this one? A total letdown.
I was quoted $65 for a full service haircut, and the groomer mentioned there could be an additional $15 fee if detangling was needed. I agreed, thinking that sounded reasonable.
But when I saw my final bill, I was completely shocked — $146.34. Here’s the breakdown:
• $65 for the haircut
• $30 for “extra scissoring/dematting”
• $45 for a 45-minute “special handling” fee
Let me be very clear: they shaved my dog completely down to the skin. No styling, no trimming — just a full-body shave. So what exactly is the $65 haircut covering? And even more baffling, why is there an additional $30 scissoring fee when barely any scissor work is needed to shave a dog? That alone makes no sense.
To top it off, they charged $45 for special handling, which is absurd to me. My dog Leo is hyper active and energetic but extremely friendly, and has always been a groomer favorite. He’s never caused trouble or needed “special” anything. Every groomer he’s had in the past has loved him and enjoyed working with him.
Now, I’m not someone who gets mad or writes bad reviews easily. But walking in expecting a $75 bill and walking out with one for $146.34 is not something I can just ignore. I understand some people might say, “Well, grooming services are expensive, deal with it.” Trust me, I know. I’ve paid $75, even $150 at times when the work truly reflected that value — but this wasn’t one of those times. This was not worth even close to what I paid.
That being said, I do want to acknowledge the groomer who worked on Leo — I know grooming is not easy, and I do appreciate your time and effort. But what I absolutely do not appreciate is how the charges were added and justified. The pricing structure and lack of transparency are completely unacceptable.
I will never go back to this store, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. If you care about value for your money and expect to be treated fairly, this is not the place. The before and after photos of Leo speak for themselves — and no one in their right mind would think this outcome is worth $146.

I have been coming into TSC and Petsense for years and I want to say that the young lady named Cheyenne is the best thing that has happened to Petsense in Columbia Tn. She is very well mannered and thoughtful and will go out of her way to help with your needs. Companies really need more people like her. If everyone is in Columbia location you need to stop by and make sure you meet her.
She is very knowledgeable about her job and about the animals and products.
Corporate really needs to look at this young lady, because it is hard to find and keep great help!
Way to go Columbia Petsense!!

It's a smaller store than Petco and PetSmart which actually I kind of like. The price on the item I was purchasing was lower than at the other big stores

They were nice, a customer brought in her dogs and they pooped all over the back of the store. It didn't get cleaned up for a while.

Just discovered Petsense & TSC do price match..(HUGE GAME CHANGER ) ** Because of Mehgan a employee ❤️?& then took great care in helping me find a dog food that I needed & price matching it ..which made it more affordable for me. I only gave 4 stars instead of 5 because prices are a bit high & I'm sure due to size of store are unable to carry some items I've looked for.. but have been able to find @ TSC

We love Sara for our grooming! She's the only person we've found that does a great job with our temperamental pups grooming. He has always hated being groomed but being long haired has to have it done. It's still not his favorite but Sara is the only person we've gone to that doesn't seem to leave him traumatized after the experience. She has a passion for her job and is very skilled and experienced working with not so cooperative dogs. We drive over an hour to see her now! Highly recommend!
