Economical with large portions. Service was excellent. Had the bbq special today. It was ok. Beans were really good. Onion rings were really good. Interesting take on cornbread... like a pancake. Really what you'd expect from gas station restaurant.

The restrooms were really nice and the whole decor was top notch! A welcome relief after such a long day spent in the car

We were able to get in and out quick. Diesel is available on both ends. Nice store there as well.

Fuel is a little high. The inside store is full of everything you need!

Do not eat here. The food was absolutely awful. Bears no resemblance to genuine country cooking. Food is old and leftover and there is a little sympathy to complaints or any attempt to correct it.

False and deceptive advertising. They label merchandise and charge a higher price when you get to the register. Can you look up I complain to the clerk and she did nothing I don't mind paying a higher price something as long as I know what I'm paying for it. I will be taking my business across the street to the other store and reporting them. I just wonder how many other people are overcharged and don't even notice

For many a traveler (and plenty of truckers also) going up Interstate 65 toward Nashville or down it going to the Alabama and Northwest Florida Gulf Coast, Stan's was a lifesaver. A 30-to-45-minute visit to the humble roadside stop got the customer a down-home Southern meal, some needed bodily relief, and a chance to immerse himself/herself into a piece of Tennessee. It was so popular, in fact, that, as Middle Tennessee's growth started coming down to the Columbia area, everybody else wanted in on the game. Now Waffle House and Cracker Barrel (which owes more than a little bit of gratitude to Stan's, given that it began decades ago on the other side of Nashville) are at that same exit, forcing the owners to modernize things in order to keep up with the new Joneses. So Stan's is yet better and at the same time not what it used to be. While the celebration of Southern culture can be a bit in one's face with Confederate-emblazoned items in the gift shop, they are for the most part in relative good taste (and that, of course, depends on one's perspective). Long gone are the "mammies" that truckers used to collect as souvenirs to bring home to Mama and the youngsters. At least, this reviewer did not see any on the shelves The food is still decidedly traditional, especially at breakfast time. I came at about 3 in the afternoon, during the clean-up period between the lunch and dinner rushes. The menu is several pages long, but I knew immediately what I wanted: country ham in some configuration. Turns out, one can get a sandwich of it on a choice of breads--sourdough was mine. I added what I thought was going to be pinto beans as the side. What I got apparently was baked beans instead. In my confusion, I decided not to complain and just tasted it. My guess is that tomatoes are in the current recipe. The Tennessee-style white (navy) beans probably would have been better--and more authentic. In any case, it was satisfying as I was en route to North Alabama to see my family. I only wish the menu was more focused on what made them famous and the prices were a touch lower. But inflation has made the day of under $10 meals a thing of the past, and Stan's is no exception, despite the reputation of rural areas being a cheaper place to live than cities. I think I will in the future go for the breakfast items, which are available all day (just like you-know-who!) Got some BP gas for my tank, and off I went. But I will be back to do a "PM" breakfast and hopefully have a better review for Stan's the next time around.

I don't know, but somehow I felt suspicious as the pump asked twice for credit card input and the store cashier asked 'why do you need a receipt?' instead of just printing my receipt when I asked. Next day, my credit card was charged series of small 5 times which I have never used. My bank called me regarding the suspicious charges earlier than I noticed, the bank took the charges off.I spoke to the owner to let him know there might be possibility that any trafficking middleware at the pump and prevent similar incidents

Not very good at all. The service was lacking, the tables weren't what I would call clean, the food was sub-par, and we decided we weren't going to give it another try.

I'd I could give you lower star I would, I was there at 1:30 and set down, waited 10 minutes the waitress walked past me 3 times never maid eye contact so I got up and left. I will never go there again and I would advise everyone to not go there

We stood at the "Please wait to be seated" sign for five minutes. During that time, we saw three restaurant employees go past us and congregate in the middle by their computer stand and talked. No one looked at us nor said anything. Finally, a customer left, and as she passed us, she told us they were not seating anyone anymore. I contacted Stan's about this, and I never received a response. I was looking forward to trying it, but now I'm reluctant to give them a second chance.

I was hoping for a country, homey feel, but it's attached to a gas station and quick mart rather than "general store." No shakes because the machine is "down." No soup. No reason. Just no. They also won't baste eggs. The waitress was not very friendly, but the tea was good.

We stop here on our way through the state every year. We walked in and the restaurant is not really busy. The hostess seated a family of four before us. When I told the hostess there was five us she tolde to wait. Consulted with another waitress and then said she couldn't seat us because they were out of plates and the dishwasher was broken. She said the kitchen was refusing to wash dishes. No apologies, just walked away from us and continued to work. I'm sympathetic to places when things like this occur but it seems that you could find an alternative to washing dishes. We also watched as we left that she went ahead and seated a couple. So they could wash two plates just not five? We will find a new place to go next year ok our way through.
