I checked out this spot for their Indian restaurant in the back. I must say that it was pretty good. I'm a samosa lover an theirs was amongst the best that I've had. Would have liked to give it a 5 but the channa masala was wasn't a 5 rating. I think that there were too many onions. Either way, I will be a returning customer.

This Indian specialty store holds a wealth of carefully selected spices, mixes for us poor non-indians as well as a frozen food selection for the cooking challenged who want the exotic taste without the hassle. It's real appeal is the 'Curry Bowl' restaurant tucked away in the back. The recipes are the same as the original Indian cuisine served at the first Curry Bowl which is, arguably, the best Indian restaurant in the city. The owner of both switches her time back and forth between the two to make this newest restaurant near Collierville a tasty retreat from the normal. While the whole of the endeavor is a kitchen and a few small tables huddled in the far corner of the market, the explosion of aromas that it produces fills the store with a calcutta air. The dishes are glorious and quickly prepared, the small staff overcomes the illusion of a commercial enterprise to bring out a feel of home.

The location of this Indian grocery store is intriguing- its attached to a gas station and a part of me can't help but create a back-story. Maybe it's two brothers who came together as entrepreneurs and one runs the gas station and the other the store? Or maybe it's more mundane and just a business person who wasn't happy with the other Indian grocery stores in town and so decided to open his own? Anyway, my back-stories aside, I stopped here one evening as I needed to do some emergency Indian shopping and this place was located en route to my home. Everything is really well labeled and nicely stocked and the folks running the store were super friendly! I also saw a lot of veggies that I hadn't seen in the other stores (like raw jackfruit) and they also had a great selection of Indian sweets and fresh snacks like Samosas and Dhokla too! I purchased goat from here but it wasn't as tender as the one I got from the Lebanese shop. Still overall I'm glad I have another option for Indian grocery shopping in Memphis! Yelp Review: 20/2017
