The staff was super friendly, helpful, and reassuring! Prices were also very reasonable and I look forward to taking my pets back there!

I gave the vet and director of the animal hospital MORE THAN ENOUGH time to do the right thing, had a meeting with the vet, director and multiple conversations with the office manager. Unfortunately, doing the right thing isn’t of importance to this practice. The vet is no longer at the practice, she was working out her notice when she seen our dog on 11/20. She recently transferred from the Clinton area to Hardin Valley. This isn’t solely about the vet, it’s also about the director of the practice. He underwent surgery 11/20 for a possible obstruction, leading up to the surgery a barium study was performed, the vet told me the ONLY option was to perform surgery. I put my trust in her and the practice, unfortunately. The surgery resulted in nothing, no obstruction, no foreign body. This result of a negative explore was not discussed prior to surgery. The vet said surgery was the ONLY option we had due to an obstruction. We experienced inadequate communication throughout the entire process from the vet in Clinton. To recap:* The only treatment option that was discussed was surgery.* The possibilities of having a negative explore was not discussed.* We were told that Winnie would "need to stay overnight” prior to surgery. The fact that none of the staff would be there to monitor overnight was not discussed.* Additional diagnostics prior to surgery such as bloodwork or referral for ultrasound should have been offered to help determine necessity of surgery, which was not discussed or offered.* Potential surgical outcomes, such as negative explore and complications was not discussed.* Alternative ways to manage his case such as managing him medically then repeating the radiographs was not discussed.* Potential GI stasis diagnosis was not discussed.* Offered transfer to UT without calling UT to check capacity prior to speaking us only to find out that UT was at capacity, no kennel large enough for Winnie. In our meeting with the vet and the director, the director made a point to mention that I "signed" for our dog to have surgery which I did not. The exact verbiage was “but you signed for him to have surgery?” I verified with the office on 11/27/23 that I was not given an informed consent form or any type of written communication. Not only did I not receive any of the above information verbally, nor did I receive any written documentation or an informed consent regarding surgical outcomes. Also suffered from barium induced peritonitis that contributed to multiple liters of fluid that had to be removed during his 7 day ICU level stay at a different facility. Barium that was left in the abdominal cavity from surgery. I have spoken to numerous other vets that have mentioned multiple other treatment plan options that could have been presented. All this to say, be very cautious who you take your fur babies to in Clinton/Hardin Valley. We almost lost ours. I don’t want anyone to go through what we had to go through. We also had to spend over $10,000+ to save our baby.EDIT TO ADD: The response I'm assuming is written by the director or the office manager (director's wife.) Key point - we wouldn't have realized that NEITHER written nor verbal treatment options were given to us. My husband and I both were in the room when the director said “but you signed for him to have surgery?” This statement is what made me realize that we in fact did not sign, nor were we given verbal potential treatments plans or potential outcomes of a negative explore. I absolutely would have went elsewhere if I had known the vet didn't communicate any of the above information. The office manager herself stated in a phone call that they were "looking into reporting her actions" and "were going to call her new employer to make them aware of her actions."

Terrible receptionist. Very rude. This is the lady who answers phones as of October 27th 2023. I loathe the fact that a place like this is still in business. I’d rather take my animal to a butcher than to this place because at least at a butcher shop they take care of the animals owners.

Can't even answer the phone by 5:30 even though they close at 6pm. Literally trying to make an appointment but now seems to think the day is over an hour before the shift is supposedly over! I don't know what time zone you guys are in but daylight savings isn't for another 2 months!

My dog was admitted and stayed several days there, now I'm at the PET EMERGENCY VET! I can't believe yall are in business! As many times as my dogs have been seen there and you did diagnose him with a heart murmur! You quacks are sorry as can be. Charged me over 1000 dollars and didn't catch this! Now at the EMERGENCY vet hoping to save his life and the bill is already over 1,000 and counting because of your negligence! And also having to see a cardiologist to maybe save him!!!!

Usually go to them for my large parrots but we had an emergency like status with my dog Angel and we called them. They worked me in and had me in and out within 20 minutes…. SAME DAY! They are always gentle and very knowledgeable. Angel and my family thanks you Clinton Animal Clinic!

The vets here are so kind and knowledgeable. They always fit my dogs in at short notice and are very responsive. Sometimes, they do get busy, but it's understandable. I try to be patient knowing they are helping others too.
