“My letter to the manager:
Hi John
Pat and Donna Surface here. We checked out this morning, Sunday October 13th, after a week's stay in room 419.
First, I never really do this - write to a manager - unless I am moved by an extraordinary experience in their hotel.
It all started with Rachel. We called to book a room for 3 days (we always try to stay at Hampton Inns - our favorite) when we learned about the possibility of a major hurricane in the Gulf. Our Winter home is in Venice, FL. She was so sweet, compassionate, and accommodating. The very essence of 'hospitality.' I asked for a quiet room on the 4th floor and got it. Room 419. A very nice, comfortable, quiet room where we sat in horror watching the Weather Channel as Milton aimed for our home. It was clear we shouldn't go to Venice on Wed as planned, so we extended our stay to Sat, and then today when we heard about the traffic and gas shortages yesterday.
A week in a hotel - not planned but in your hotel very pleasant. All of your staff was friendly and very empathetic when they learned why we were there.
And Daisy! Oh our daily dose of sunshine that is Daisy. She is so wonderful, John. She said she was praying for us and we took comfort in that. I looked forward to seeing her every day. Your housekeeping manager, (I forget her name) was so great. In fact that entire staff is very sweet. The beds, towels - first class.
And the breakfasts! Really the best we've had in a hotel. Thank you for changing it up every day, and offering such great quality food.
We will surely stay there again. It's a great town, and your hotel is a great place to stay. All the comforts of home - a gym, a Walmart. And my husband even found pickleball (his passion - and respite from the constant worry of the devastation that was being predicted).
We are headed to some major cleanup but our home seems fine from pictures our neighbors sent. Much of our beautiful city sustained catastrophic damage. Heartbreaking.
Thank you, John, for managing such a great place - one that made a nightmare situation tolerable.
Donna”

“Me and my family went here for one night while traveling from Florida to Illinois and it was a great night! The bathroom was kinda dirty but they provided hygiene products as well as lotion and lots of towels. They have a baby pool, sauna big pool, and a hot tub.Safety: They do not let kids under 16 go into the sauna and hot tub. (For safety reasons)Food & drinks: They have an amazing breakfast buffet that opens at 5:00 am and has LOTS of great options! The people working are super nice and are great!Noteworthy details: They have a great swimming pool and hot tub, as well as a sauna and baby pool. They are all really nice as we went into the baby pool with my one year old and we went into the hot tubThey also provided a crib for my 1 year old to sleep in.”

“From the moment we checked in we were impressed. The front desk staff both when we checked in and checked out were extremely friendly, kind, and helpful! We got to our room and it was very clean and spacious. The water pressure was great in the bathroom. The fridge in the room was bigger than most hotels. There was a little table by the sitting chair in the room that was perfect for my CPAP since my husband also has a CPAP and he was using the nightstand for his. I usually have to get creative because most hotels of this caliber don’t offer something. Breakfast is the standard/typical for this type of hotel. The breakfast area was very clean and well maintained. This hotel offered a bar from 5-10pm. I cannot comment on it as we didn’t get there until after those times and left before it opened again. It’s nice that they offer it, especially after being on the road all day. Parking lot was well lit up. I really don’t have any complaints.

Rooms: Very clean and great water pressure. The beds are comfortable. There is an extra small round table that is perfect sized if you have a CPAP.

Safety: The parking lot was very well lit up.

Food & drinks: The breakfast was decent. They offered biscuits and gravy, eggs, and sausage, along with cereal, fruit, and yogurts. There was bread, bagels, and muffins.”

“After heavy smoke damage to my home, and unable to return, my home insurance covered the accommodations. Missing my home but feeling blessed to have such a clean and safe place to rest. All of the employees deserve gold stars ?”

“I was worried about some of the negative reviews I'd seen prior to our arrival, but I'm glad we booked it. The staff is great, very friendly, comfortable beds, good shower, ac works great. We had left our cooler plugged in our truck, the battery was dead at 5am when we tried to leave. The lady at the desk with the jeep was so kind to give us a jump and get us on our way. God bless her and the red roof inn!!!”

“I’m reviewing this as if it were an apartment. The facilities had everything we needed from a one bedroom suite, with a full kitchen including garbage disposal and dishwasher. The storage was more than adequate for a weeks stay of a family who works from home. We generally eat most of our meals at home too. We had our air frier because who would not leave home with out it? There is not an oven but they had all the dishes required for short term living. The hotel is currently under renovations and is looking nicer everyday. I highly recommend this hotel. The staff was very friendly and accommodating to our needs when asked and followed up with us to ensure we were satisfied with our stay. Perfect for a PCS or TDY.

Rooms: The room and a workstation in the bedroom, a large universal table in the living room with a desk chair and accessible router to plug into, perfect for working from home. Two televisions, - one in the bedroom and one in the living room. Small kitchenette with full size fridge and pantry. There was a comfy chair and pull out sofa. The bedroom had a nightstand, alarm clock, lamp, dresser and closet.

The pots and pan were heavy duty and highly recommend you wash/prewash your dishes because the dishwasher did not work well. We were satisfied because we generally pre scrub before the dishwasher anyway.

Safety: We felt very comfortable leaving our trailer unattended overnight. We did lock the trailer with a couple of methods.”

“We stay here about once a month, and have a pretty good experience. However our loyalty doesn't mean anything, as we still have to drag our stuff upstairs, rather than just upgrade us tp downstairs.”

“Dude so I came here because a guy I work with used to stay here when he was homeless. He vouched for me and I stayed for two weeks, until I got sick a couple of days and couldn't afford a week. He let me stay in my tent out back. I tried staying in the creek out here but he would not let me get bitten by a snake. This guy is awesome! Plus nobody who smokes weed or drinks is going to get in trouble here. Smoke outside though! They have definitely earned my respect and I highly recommend them over any motel in clarksville. They are friendly as all get out! If you need anything just ask. They ain't got bedbugs or whatever other people have said. Those are people who wanted something cheaper(and you can't find it) and wanted to make stuff up about them. Plus if you want to get some steps in at night, the guy will already be ahead of you doing circles around the lot. They are so cool!”

“Been staying here for over a year now. Honestly it's not a Hilton, but realistically it's much improved. People aren't just staying a couple nights, and out. Most are people staying longer stays. Owners fix any grievances with room and appliances immediately. I've seen the owners work with everyone they could to help them help themselves within a pretty lenient reason. They have made upgrades on the entire property. The people here all pitch in to keep everything chill. Not a bad place at all.”

“Came down for the long Easter weekend. They gave me a ground level room that I requested, which was much appreciated. The room was nice size and had an ok shower. Had a nice TV and lots of channels. Only complaint was that there was no desk and chair, as I read a lot. I would definitely stay again.”

“It is okay for the price rooms are decently clean my first room didn’t have hot water I was moved to a new room. Location is good. There is a wierd smell in the hotel hard to describe but a light garbage rotten smell they should deodorize the carpets in the hotels and use plug in air fresheners.”

“I came into town at almost midnight on 10/25/24 and called to see if they had a room for 2 nights and they did. I was checked in quickly and the lady at the desk was super nice and helpful. I had been driving for 9.5 hours and came into town for homecoming at Austin Peay University and to visit my son who plays football and goes to school there. The only complaint is that there was a large bar of soap left in the shower by the last person I guess. The room itself was clean and comfortable and the air conditioning worked great. The bed linens were clean and the bed was comfortable as well. I will definitely come back and stay here again.”
