7-Eleven, while one of the easiest jobs I've ever had, was pretty much doomed from the get go. I worked there for almost two years and in that time there were four management changes, dozens of crummy employees, and an almost zero percent lack of care for those that work there and those that come and buy gas or get a slurpee.
The first thing I want to talk about is corporate. I will go out of my way to say that corporate not only actively made the store worse, but was rooting for its downfall since the very beginning. We had three corporate switches in the span of two years and all they ever did when they arrived was chew out management for not reaching their ever-growing list of unrealistic expectations. All their interactions were automated to puppet the wants of the executives who want a few extra bones in their pockets. It was stupid, and I dreaded every single time they would come in.
It's through their corporate umbrella that we would get things fixed, and yet for some reason, any time our soda machines went out, any time our case's bulbs were burnt, it took WEEKS for our issues to be resolved, and in that time they would lose hundreds and hundreds of customers because of it.
Now you might be asking, which side did you work on, random internet user? I worked the restaurant side and I'll be the first to say, yeah, we suck. Our food is gross, takes too long to make and prep, and we were constantly understaffed the entire time I worked there. There were a few gracious months where there were maybe two other employees that I could work with, but very often it was one. Whenever we would hire new people, our hours would almost always get cut, and when we didn't hire people, burn out was inevitable. Upper management also had a really great track record of hiring the worst people possible, and very rarely ever stepped in when we were having issues.
Management also loved to play into first and second shift drama which made working there a nightmare. All I want to do is come in, work, and go home without feeling drained, but every single day it was an argument of, "Why wasn't this prepped yesterday?" or "They left me with nothing up there." blah blah blah. It was annoying, that was the conversation EVERY SINGLE DAY. It didn't matter when or where in the day, it was always, "I don't have X Y Z" and "they didn't do this" and "they didn't do that". I couldn't escape it.
It also didn't help that one specific person on second shift made working for everyone on first shift a living and breathing nightmare, her name was Smallz. Smallz is the most complained about employee at that 7-Eleven, but because she's upper management and allegedly sells weed to customers in the parking lot, she's given a pass. I have not heard one good thing about her or her work ethic the entire time I've been there, and yet for some reason she still has a job. She is an aggressive, annoying character who likes to nitpick and gets just as upset about things not being stocked and prepped. She is a superior and yet she works the job like a child.
Let's talk about Casey. Casey is the restaurant/store lead who gained that position because our original lead transferred to another store because she hated us that much. For the most part he does a great job...when he shows up. He also has an issue with starting rivalries in the workplace. This man also wanted to fire me when I was on leave for my mom dying. But overall he seemed like a great guy, I just don't think he was ever properly prepared for his job.
And that concludes my rant of the 7-Eleven on Trenton, I know these reviews automatically get placed into their star system in their office, so I hope they have a great and fantastic time reading through and seeing how much I hated their store. It doesn't really matter how upset I am, no one hi

Normal convenience store. Love the Slurpees. The women's bathroom was a mess. The picture is of the air filter above the handicap stall. Pretty gross if you ask me.

What a cool 7-eleven! It felt nice and clean when I walked in. Very large! I’m used to the tiny little convenience stores of 7-eleven so I liked this one
The cashier was really sweet, her makeup was fire! Had a great little 30 second conversation. Sometimes cashiers are pretty dull and lifeless

Everyone who works here is super helpful and genuinely nice. They make coming in an enjoyable experience, and I come in every time I have to pass by on my way to work. They're overall amazing!

Food is mediocre. Not pleased with service... rude and uncaring concerning customers. Will spend my bucks elsewhere!

I had a problem with a rude cashier, but when I called the store manager to complain I found out that she is even ruder than the employee. I will never shop there again. I have more class than them.

Employee at the food area was too busy to give a customer a moment of their time and I left without making any purchases.
