Horrible service had a car booked for a while there and waited over three hours just to get the car . And ended up leaving with no car because there was no sings of getting the car anytime sooner than another hour

This review includes Thrifty, Hertz, and Dollar rental car at the Chattanooga airport. it’s all the same company despite which brand you use.
The positives:
(A) Two of the current staff are exceptionally helpful, polite, professional, and customer-oriented.
(B) they often have the lowest rates, but buyer beware. See below.
(C) they have the lowest security deposit hold on your credit card ($200. Versus $400 for Enterprise/Alamo/National, and $300 for Budget/Avis).
The negatives:
(1) They don’t answer the local phone, but let it roll to voicemail.
(2) The voicemail box is almost always full and cannot take more messages.
(3) a few of the staff, including those in a managerial role, leave some room for improvement in their customer service demeanor. The customer is not always right (or treated kindly).
(4) Hidden fees. If you plan on adding a spouse as a second driver, anticipate a nearly $14 PER DAY up charge (all of the other companies at the Chattanooga airport allow a spouse to drive for free).
(5) Their “smell good” cleaning spray is incredibly strong. Sympathies to those who get a rental that they’ve tried to cover up a previous smoker. You won’t smell much of the smoke…. because it will be overpoweringly covered with the choking smell of cleaner.
(6) No journeys west of the Mississippi. This is not revealed via third-party rentals. So don’t be surprised at the counter. They have stories of people who have gone over the Mississippi, had the car break down, and paid thousands of dollars in fees to have them recover the car.
(7) They are a franchise and NOT directly part of the national companies. Therefore, their fleet is older. One way rentals are more difficult. Last-minute rentals made under the national companies or third-parties don’t always get communicated to their system. Therefore, sometimes they won’t have a car for you.
I’ve had a few good experiences. That said, the probability of having a bad experience is higher than with the other car companies at the airport.

Thrifty at TYS was utterly useless.
It isn’t so much the fact that they refused to honor our reservation (made weeks in advance) or that every other company at the airport was booked, but how rude/dismissive/unhelpful the man at the counter was.

Horrible women at the counter at Fort Lauderdale airport. Don't ever fall for their scam tactics online, the Manager Special, you will get screwed.

Less than one star. Very rude customer service. reservation was made and estimated price changed once arrived. an added "deposit" that was not disclosed on reservation site. When questioned they said "it just started" would not recommend Thrifty or Hertz.

Location at ATL Airport was a horrible experience. Husband got in at 1am and the place closed at 2am. Waited 45 mins in line for assistance with reservation. They supposedly had no cars left & gave him an electric, Tesla. On top of giving him a vehicle he didn't book, they gave him a vehicle with 40% charge!! He had to stop halfway from Atlanta to Chattanooga to charge the vehicle at 4am!! And we had an emergency situation which is the whole reason he flew in & rented a car. We then requested to switch the electric vehicle in Chattanooga the next day due to him needing a car that runs on gas and we were told no problem. When we got to Chattanooga airport to swap vehicle OR return to that location instead we were told we would be charged $600 drop off fee!! Eventhough Thrifty was completely in the wrong we ended up getting screwed. We then saw that both locations had 1 star on Google. Should have known better. Save yourself from a nightmare and book a different car rental company!!

A family member booked a vehicle on Priceline under my name using their credit card. Priceline only stated that the driver needed to bring their ID to pick up the vehicle. Upon arrive at the rental company I was informed that only the individual paying for the rental was allowed to pick up the rental. The employees at the service desk were rude about the issue. When I asked about the breakdown of the charges and why the rental cost was far higher than what was quoted on the reservation, the associates were avoidant. I found they were attempting to charge an airport service fee (this is the only Thrifty rental location in the city). Furthermore the vehicle was completely filthy. I will not be using this company again.

Watch out for the false charges put on ur credit card. I'm very serious, they will try and hit you up with false claims even though you've proved to them they made a " mistake" / I ended up disputing the charge with my credit card company and they gave me the charge back. Customer service does not exist at " Thifty " and if you do rent from them...I told you so lol Honestly this place is just gross

Got the exact vehicle I asked for in quick pickup and drop off at the Chattanooga Airport location. Easy in and out, rental booth was very close to baggage claim area. Price was a bit less than other rental agencies. Was a brand new vehicle, clean and ran perfectly. Would absolutely rent again from this agency.

Car was ready to go, on time. Wish I could remember the person checking me in but she was very knowledgeable and helpful. Would definitely recommend and use their company again in the future!

Keisha was amazing she helped me out so much. She was able to get me a better car then I would have expected. I was in and out fast with great service so thank you so much Keisha I will definitely be back again

Great prices! Friendly staff! And it was great to drive off in a 2021 RUbicon Jeep Wrangler ?????I did a last minute rental and still made it to school in Nashville on time!

The rental process was quick and easy for pick up and drop off. The only issue I had was getting someone to answer the phone, I made several attempts before getting someone on the phone. Other than that I will rent again.
