As a new drummer, I came in for assistance buying an external amp for my electronic drum kit, and the guy who assisted me was so helpful! (He may have been the owner.) He took his time trying to help me figure out what cable I needed, despite being on his way to an appointment. Really great experience, and I’m happy to support a local business vs. a big music chain. Will definitely be back!

I just arrived to pick up two guitars I dropped off in March for re-stringing. I have a message on my voice mail from April (Trevor), when my guitars were restrung and ready. Then, I forgot to pick them up! (Until today)My guitars had been sold and one was an Ovation I had given my son to play . It was my first married Christmas gift from his father in 1993. .As the time passed, I never received a message that my guitar would be sold “or else”. And then time got away and I simply forgot !I took responsibility for not picking up my instruments in a timely fashion, and then after about 45 mins of arguing the point that surely there is a record of what happened , the owner tells meIt was sold on eBay back in June after looking through his computer for help die to “a lot of Ovations sold “ in the store. “How many is a lot? “, I asked . “Are there any records of 1970s guitars you’ve sold in June? “ What was most disappointing was the complete lack of r concern for this loss with a customer who has followed you from Dayton, Tennessee , This deserved a “we are about to sell your instrument if you dont pick it up!” phone call . It deserves that because an1970s guitar that needs strings probably means something to someone . This is not a sock collection of meaningless things left behind kind of loss . . He agreed with me that it appeared a phone call warning had not necessarily taken place . I was then provided ALL the policies that I wasn’t aware of before today, and each was explained in exquisite detail . There’s apparently $5.00 monthly rent when you leave your instrument, too. Man, I would love to have paid the rent bill, and would have, happily done so.In the store , piles of paper and hand written receipts behind the desk and all around will prove that record keeping here is a guess, at best. Combine that lack of process with a with a completely detached , disinterested music store owner about what happened to my guitars and you’ll be heartsick fast….Zero concern and zero empathy from a fellow musician ?I’ve gone here for 12 years and I am so saddened about this failure and lack of concern about my questions and outcome …a guitar that is gone..Beware of dropping off the guitar you’ve had you’re whole life because it won’t mean anything to these purveyors of musical instruments . Hold on to that little claim ticket because there’s nothing written down anywhere else but they will look through the piles for you if you know when you dropped it off .This feels dishonest and I am crestfallen over the lack concern about my Ovation now being played by an EBay Customer of theirs “out in Kodak, Tn,This is what I was told after insisting that we try to find my guitar “. Don’t go here . Go somewhere where someone is aware that this instrument might mean something and I need to call this lady. (Me) one more time and give her an opportunity . She, like you, would have been so grateful and paid any fees owed for her mistake . That’s the music store we all want in our community .Now, to tell my son…

Great place to go if you want great service. I went to get some new strings for my guitar. I have an Applause guitar from the 70's and it has a plastic back. Not only did they know this, but gave me options based on how much I played. I have been to guitar center but never came away feeling like they really wanted to help. These guys do want to help. If you value good service and supporting a small business, then go there and experience the difference?

Excellent customer service and great prices. Rented a bass amp from them for our Veterans Entrepreneurship Program. The price was reasonable and we received a brand new Fender Rumble 100 watt amp. We had a drum kit that was lent to us but only had one tom and needed a second. They rigged something together for us that worked and all was well. Really a great place for your music needs. Thank you for your help to make our evening event a success!

Employee was rude and pretentious. Have spent plenty of money in this place for years, as far back as Dayton Blvd, and Downtown. Due to this experience I will take my business elsewhere in the future.

I didn’t have any luck finding a shop I trusted in middle Tennessee, but Darren and the crew at Mountain Music have been phenomenal each time. I urge all musicians to trust your gear with them.

I upgraded a Seagull walnut acoustic to a Seagull S6. The staff were very friendly and appreciative of the business. They also set up the new guitar while I chatted with the owner about Max Webster and 70's rock bands. Just a great store all around! I love my new acoustic!

As a piano teacher it is always a pleasure to browse the vast array of music available here. I purchase instructional method books, notespellers and additional fun and interesting music for my students. I receive a teacher's discount which I appreciate. In addition to finding great selections for every student, I also find music to use in entertaining and as director of music at my church. At times I even find special items for gifts for students and choir. One Christmas I gifted rhythm "eggs" from Mountain Music. I have been shopping here for many years and through two relocations! They are just that good!!

Amazing experience! Took a guitar there for an input jack repair and they did a great job! And they obviously put care and consideration in their craft because I had lost the back plate of the guitar many years ago and they even made a plastic backplate that screws seamlessly into position which I was surprised that they went the extra mile without me asking. Will be coming back to them in the future.

My new guitar had a Fender bender and needed a quick fix. I brought it to Mountain Music on the recommendation of a friend. Not only did they fix it in five minutes while I browsed their great selection of new and vintage instruments, they didn't charge me. The next instrument I buy is going is going to be from MM!

Very friendly and helpful. Only reason it's not 5 stars is limited inventory. Will go back.

Great team. Tons of gear in a small space. My go to music shop, and first place I tell other musicians.
