Had the strangest experience here. Went looking for an evening dress - store was mostly empty. I was not greeted - which was not an issue, however one of the sales associates immediately came to near where I was shopping and QUITE OBVIOUSLY found something to keep her busy and conveniently close to me as well.
I still had not been greeted yet. Again, not an issue, but they were obviously aware of my presence.
Not 5 minutes pass and another sales associate is now staring me down eagle eye style from the other side of the store.
No one has said a word to me, not asking whether i was looking for something in particular, not whether I needed assistance - just awkward stares and very clearly being profiled. Both associates where whispering and staring at me when I walked out - of course empty handed, but just an overall extremely weird experience. 0/10 will not be back and I understand why the store itself is empty.

I've been to different J.Crew locations in the West And East Coast. This is by far the most unfriendly and unhelpful staff i have ever encountered. I went to this location yesterday morning and 2 staff couldn't be bothered. One was busy stocking clothes and the other one was busy putting clothes on a mannequin. Not even one of them asked if i needed help. Will never go back here.

I must start off by saying that I have never been a fan of shopping for clothes. It's been difficult for me since I was a kid to find clothes that fit my body type and allow me to feel good.I recently went to J. Crew to find a couple outfits for a business photoshoot. My experience with Laurie and Amy have changed how I feel about shopping for clothes. Both Laurie and Amy listened what I wanted to look and feel like for the photoshoot. They pulled a variety of styles, sizes and colors as we narrowed down the essentials.I literally have never walked out of a shopping experience as energized and excited for what I purchased, than I did after working with Laurie and Amy. I know have a better understanding of the style tops and bottoms that work best for my body style thanks to them.10/10 would recommend and I will continue to go back!

I came into the store to buy a white t shirt. There was only one person in front of me and I had to wait over 20 mins to check out. The front cashier was steaming a dress and called to back of the store and no other associates came to the front. Once one did she barely spoke any English and claimed she was new and didn't know how to check me out without me giving her an email address. I informed her she could go pass that screen and she didn't know how to and said I was MEAN because I didn't want to give her my email address. Which is ridiculous. Then she walked away. I stood there for another 10 Mins before another associate came from back and was able to check me out without a email address. I honestly feel like I was treated this way because I am not white. Another white customer came up there while I was waiting and told the lady streaming dress that I had been waiting for while, because he was sitting in the chairs in the middle while his wife shopped and saw me quietly waiting to check out. Once finally checked out the white customer approached me and informed me he thought I was treated that way because I was a "regular kind of customer."

This review is for a very particular clothing category...Plenty of variety for swim trunks, but the entire selection, minus one pair, was all very tacky designs. Entire selection was above knee which I couldn't wear for risk of showing more than I would like people to see when I sit down or lift a leg. A more appealing variety is definitely needed for what you're paying. Staff was very friendly. One of the managers seemed a little "snooty," but maybe I was just self conscious because I was wearing very plain clothes and she had a bit of RBF, lol. Other than those little things, the store seemed nice, but small. Had I more time (and not a bad first impression on the trunks), I would've taken a look around.

Angie D offered some of the best service I have experienced at a retail store in a long time! She was patient and went above any beyond in assisting with finding appropriate sizes or even offering to order anything for me that they didn't have in my size. I will for sure stop by this J Crew on my next work travels to Chattanooga to support this location!

J.Crew on Market Street in Chattanooga is a good J.Crew location and I really like the location and the atmosphere of the store and how everything is organized. The staff is helpful when you need them to be and are able to assist you when you need to find something. I liked what I was able to purchase from here.
