Was in town for the local RK gun show at camp Jordan. This hotel was right around the corner and was priced reasonably so I gave it a shot. Upon arrival Jason was very wonderful and friendly. The rooms have a kool 90s feel to them. And not 1 bug found in my weekend stay. Comfy beds and cold a/c. Next visit to Chattanooga, I will definitely book this hotel!

It’s nothing fancy, but it’s not supposed to be. I had a fantastic experience at the Budgetel. It’s what it bills itself as: a basic hotel at reasonable prices that gets the job done.As a single woman, I never felt unsafe and it was quiet and peaceful. No bugs, noise, chaos, or discord. The staff was all friendly and welcoming to me, especially Jason. Moving forward, if I need a place to stay, I will return to the Budgetel.Beyond the clean rooms and excellent service I received, I like that it’s within easy walking distance to stores and some restaurants. Again, I was greatly pleased with the service I received at Budgetel. Highly recommend as a decent place to stay that is easy on the budget.Safety: They have security. As a single woman, I never felt unsafe there. It’s quiet and peaceful. No discord or disorder is tolerated, which is one of several things I really liked.Walkability: As walkable as anything in East Ridge, Tennessee can be.Food & drinks: Easy walking distance to restaurants and stores.

This is a basic, clean, safe, comfortable hotel at a *great* price and with free coffee in the morning. Perfect for a no-nonsense value shopper like me trying to save money on a business trip that I pay for myself. The WiFi and TV signal basically didn't work in my room, but I didn't really care. I still would have stayed, even if I had known that in advance. I stayed at the hotel on March 23rd, 2024.As for the other commenters, many of them seem to be expecting a Ritz Carlton experience at one tenth of the price. Grow up! And remember: Ritz Carlton also doesn't offer free breakfast, which I don't want anyway because I'm overweight. Also: Ritz Carlton (and Four Seasons, and etc.) charge for parking! This Budgetel does not.The main reason I wrote my review is to make these points, and to boost the hotel's review score.

Federal agent walking around hotel taking license plates In these people coordinate with authorities and is a predatory landscape stay far away from this place. Places like this exist all over and local police love them for harvesting poor people.Degeneracy at its finest. Rooms are trash and this place should be condemned.

Staying at this room was a problem EVERYDAY they say no smoking in the rooms but if you smoke outside it’s a problem too but they don’t tell you that you can’t smoke outside or on the property period. The security guard harasses you. They are racist. They put me out my room saying the fire detector picked up smoking within the room but it was a lie because there wasn’t any smoking going on inside the room. Mind you i smoked in my car or when leaving the property because it was a problem so i was trying to avoid any confusion or situation as much as possible because i paid to stay a full week. They don’t offer breakfast the coffee machine is broken so no coffee either. The tv doesn’t hve many channels. The assistant manager has a very nasty attitude and talks to ppl (of color) like they’re beneath her and doesn’t have the freedom of speech or to speak upon a situation at hand. I would NEVER recommend this hotel to anyone. The location isn’t the best as the police told me this particular hotel had many situations to go on in the past to where they had to be called several times to come there of altercations drugs fights etc. The only decent thing about this hotel is the weekly rates the rooms are not even up to date. DO NOT STAY HERE UNLESS YOU PLAN ON NEVER COMING OUT YOUR ROOM!!!!!!!!!!

This place is so impressive I do not know where to begin. Do to a botched camping trip while me and my wife are having our home recarpetted and Renovations done, we found this gem and have been here a few days and will stay longer. From the GM to the desk staff as well as security, these folks are First Class all the way. They go above and beyond. The rooms have apartment sized fridges, great WiFi, it's clean and spacious. The rooms don't smell like smoke or animals. They have a huge secured parking lot to walk and stretch your legs. It is fenced and security is on hand so you do not have to fret about your car, belongings, and peace of mind at night. The beds are awesome and new. It is super quiet. I have traveled this country for the Army for years and I have never ran into a hotel at this value for what you receive. They have great laundry for about 5 bucks a load and ice and vending. Most hotels have busted ice machines and your gonna walk down the road and spend an additional 5 dollars more for ice a day and good luck with the laundry mats. If you see a bad review it is only due to someone who just can't or won't follow the hotels simple rules. OR, they simply expect way too much for their money and feel entitled. If I could give a ten star rating these people would get a 15. Everything you could want or need is actually within walking distance. I thank these people for their honesty, their professionalism, and their down to earth aproach at providing a safe and friendly experience in this city. I look forward to seeing what they do in the future as they renovate the rest of the hotel. I recommend this place to everyone.

Due to a rough patch in life I had to stay here from end of August (ish) until end of January. I have to give a HUGE thank you to Portia, Jason, James & even Zeke! They worked with us as much as they could and truly tried to make sure our stay was as good as it could be. They went above and beyond! The rooms definitely look better then they use to. Not one time did I see a bug in my room, definitely no bed bugs the mattresses where brand new with the plastic still on them. And after talking with other guest over time pretty much every mattress is/was brand new with the plastic still on them (which was nice) A couple of times we had a issue where the battery in our door (where the key goes) was dead. & One of those times was pretty late at night. Portia went above and beyond to try to get us in and was fixing to drive a good 30+ mins to go get the tool she needed to get us in. But luckily she didn't have to do that & Jason got us in our room. We never had one problem while staying there. Everyone was nice, we all had good conversations, laughed & joked around. As long as you don't cause any problems, follow the rules and are respectful you'll have a nice stay as well. Also take into consideration what that place use to be & what it is now. Is everything in the rooms perfect? No! But it's a place to stay & while you're there it's home so treat it just like you would your home! It's not a 5star luxury hotel. I don't know what some of y'all expect. But don't bad mouth good people & make up lies to try & cause issues. Jason, Portia, Zeke & James bust their butts to make sure the place is ran better than it ever has been and in my opinion they have done an amazing job! I will recommend Budgetel to anyone.I'm truly thankful for this place & their staff!

1st occasion I got locked out of my room. Attendant had to pry door open and move me. On 2nd occasion, I started asking questions at the desk regarding a deposit/price difference from 2 weeks ago. I was then informed there were no rooms available. At all. Was told to leave.

Location is good. Staff is helpful, and as for the room? The bed was comfy. But the rest of the room was gross. Mold in the bathroom. Cockroaches. Just gross.

The WiFi here is awful. They over charge on the rooms when the rooms are not so great and dirty. They still have 2.4g wifi upgrade to 5g's and I think Evey room should have wifi routers just being honest.

This place is so much nicer now. :) The staff is super friendly and feels like family. The rooms are super clean and nice. They're remodeling the other buildings but, the one they have open is very nice. I recommend if you want a night away or you're needing a place to stay a couple days/weeks to come check them out. They're located in an area that is walkable to several restaurants and gas stations. They have a gate around the property and security guards. :) I'll definitely be back with my family. :)Safety: They have a gate around the property and security guards.Walkability: Close enough to a couple restaurants and gas stations.

just now on GoogleI had a horrible experience at this hotel. I tried to stay there with my family and my kids were eaten alive by bed bugs in room 1206 on the second floor. I took a pic and even trapped a few I found coming out of the mattress with some painters tape that I had and brought it to the owners attention. He got really upset saying that it wasn’t possible and if the city found out he would have huge issues and I should keep it quiet. I was horrified that he would allow this to happen and the hotel staff smokes cigarettes while she is cleaning the rooms daily. My kids would cough at the smell of the smell and smoke coming from the cleaning lady that has a mustache. Beware of this hotel!! They tried to claim we ruined a microwave when we returned to the room and found my wife’s wallet was empty of her cash and credit cards. They refused to look at the cameras and another guest said it was Jason the gym seen leaving our room when we were out eating dinner. We left a day early and let them keep the money due to the poor conditions that they have in the rooms. Pull back the sheets you will see ripped mattresses dirty fridges and floor peeling up! They are constantly in court with the city of Chattanooga whom I am reporting these conditions to becouse even the city doesn’t want them open and will be shutting them down in the future I’m sure. They are so broke there that they ride around with a shower curtain hanging from the back of there golf cart and there are cigarettes butts everywhere. When we asked them to not smoke in front of our door we were threatened by the gm Jason. Take a look at there laundry room with dirty and filthy washing machines and the trash overflowing and being left there for days. If you report any issues the hotel gm will yell as loud as he can and threaten you with police for having a issue becouse he takes it personally since he doesn’t know how to manage a hotel. They will be investigated by the proper teams in the near future and I expect him to leave a dishonest comment to my post becouse he is already in hot water with the city as he told me if they find out about the bed bugs they will be shut down. Try your luck don’t take my word for it we didn’t leave we ran as fast as we could and found a better place to give our money too. There showers are stained and they use white paint to paint over the stains and filth and it peels as he said and will say come take a look lol you will see you wasted your money in the bed bug motel
