Dr. Smith and staff were absolutely amazing! My senior dogs were relaxed the whole time. The cost is reasonable, like any other vet but the value is worth so much more. They care about the animals quality of life as well as the owners sanity. I felt confident that their education would help my fur babies live a long healthy life.

Chai provides a unique holistic approach to pet health which includes both modern veterinary medical techniques and traditional practices. The doctors and staff are expert and caring. I have an older dog with severe arthritis and she suffers from pain and immobility. Her treatments include veterinary manipulation (think Chiropractor) prescription meds, herbal meds and laser treatments. I have been a dog owner for most of my 69 years and I am convinced that Chai’s doctors have extended her life. I trust them implicitly and recommend them highly.

Both of my basset hounds are under the care of Dr. Colleen Smith and Dr. Katie Smith. I wouldn't ever consider taking them anywhere else. Their care has been thorough, meticulous, and expert. My hounds are in absolutely beautiful health and Dr. C. Smith's expertise in canine nutrition has lead to my dogs being weight appropriate, virtually no shedding, and no doggy odor. Their energy level is quite different from the average basset hound and their musculature is well developed. The staff is superb and always helpful.

They are nice people, but be aware that they take pets out of the room for checkups and vaccinations. I brought my two kittens in for vaccines and was surprised that they took them and left me in the room alone. I asked about it, and was told it was standard practice. I mentioned that I saw a video of a vet mistreating a cat out of the sight of the owner and was told that if I don’t trust a vet, I shouldn’t take pets there. This was my first visit, and I have to say that the response made me uncomfortable. I trust, but also want to see how my pet is being treated. I’ve had cats all my life, and this was a first. A rescue friend told me that this happens when the vet or techs don’t want the owner to see how they may have to restrain a pet. My kittens are friendly and docile - not feral. The tech could see that the kittens were sweet when they held them. I called another vet in Chattanooga and asked if they take cats out of the room, and they do not. Therefore, I have started to go to a different vet.

When we first went last year, they loved our dog. They said he was the best acting dog they have looked at. This year, when he's hurting, they judge him for being defensive because he was in a lot of pain. Said we needed to bring him back in sedated the next visit. But instead of just giving us enough pills for the one visit, they gave us enough pills for 4 visits. They are scared of our dog, and we are finding a different vet. Our dog is not aggressive in any way, only when he's hurting. Many people can attest to that. He's the biggest oaf with the biggest heart for people. He loves making new friends. I would not recommend going to this vet if you have an oversized "aggressive breed" dog. Even if they are the biggest softies. They won't treat them that way. Save your time and find a different vet.Edit: as it won't let me reply, as owners we are willing to do what is necessary to prevent anything from happening to anyone, when it is necessary. When he is no longer in pain and never a bite risk, there is no need for sedatives. And practicing vet safe environment is not taking a dog away from its owner. Owners put their animals minds at ease and that is not something practiced at this vet. They take your pet from you and examine it away from you and you have no idea what is happening to your pet or how they are acting.

I have a pair of bonded miniature dachshunds, Bama and Bella, that I rescued 3 years ago. They're both seniors and have been together all their lives. Dr. Katie operated on a malignant growth on Bella and has given her a new lease on life. With the bond these two share, she's given them both many more years together. I love all the wonderful people at CHAI.

We set up an appointment for Dr. Katie to meet our 7 year old kitty Luna who has a chronic skin condition and hyper grooming. She put heron some meds, and a tincture and she's been doing MUCH better. They were sweet and really kind to Luna and made a big deal about what a good girl she was which any pet parent can appreciate. When she went home they gave us the cutest little custom bag with her name drawn on it with her flea meds and her tincture and stuff. Just the little personal touches is why you go to a place like this. We will be taking our kitten here Wednesday and look forward to him getting established with them.

This place is the ONLY place I will take my pets. I love all of the doctors and the staff is just all around awesome. It’s also the only vet I’ve ever been to where it doesn’t smell like a dog wonderland! For reference, I have two dogs and a cat. One time I brought my cat and it’s such a chill clinic that he actually fell asleep in the sink in the room! I mean, I’d say that’s a great sign of a good vet. All of my animals are always calmer here than any other vet they’ve been too. The place is magical!

This has been hands down the best experience for a pet health institution. They don't price gouge you just because you pay what it's worth, they don't just push science diet and whatever else dry food because they are paid to promote it like other vets. It's just a really really great experience. 10/10 would recommend to anyone!

I have 8 small rescue dogs, many of which came to me with health issues or extreme anxiety around strangers. I took a chance on taking one of my dogs with severe health issues to CHAI after taking her to a couple of other vets and health wasn't improving. I was blown away by the level of compassion and care that I got from all of the staff at CHAI. They are the nicest group of folks I've ever met in the medical industry and have been AMAZING to work with. My dog is now finally starting to improve and I have high hopes for her future thanks to Dr. Smith at CHAI. I've taken several of my other dogs there as well and been thrilled with the care they have received. Thanks to their staff who definitely practice Fear Free medicine, my dogs are never nervous or anxious about visiting the vet. I can't recommend CHAI enough!

She diagnosed my cat with a nasal fistula, when 2 other vets said it was probably nasal cancer. Six months later the little guy is still doing really well.Always get a 2nd or ever 3rd opinion!

CHAI is one of the most amazing group of Animal Lovers. They are very professional and Love what they do. Right from the time you walk in, where The girls always know who you and your pet are, to the time you walk out. Dr. Katie is a Wonderful Vet and human being. The staff in the back that do my dogs treatments are all so wonderful. They have helped get my dog back on his feet after he paralyzed himself. He has a heart Murmur so he couldnt get corrective surgery, so He goes for maintenance treatments, not at their request, but mine. They in now way try to push their services on you. I will always use them for my dogs needs. I highly recommend this group. They are so compassionate about their work. My dog Loves them too. I will never be able to say Thank You enough to them for saving my dog from a life of not walking.
