I had a GREAT experience here. They were able to fit me in for a "same day" appointment at no extra cost, and the doctor was so kind and affectionate with my pet. He spent ample time explaining important things to me and made wise recommendations. We had a 5 star experience here. I would recommend Brainerd Hills to anyone!

My husband and I recently boarded our dog with Brainerd Hills Veterinary Animal Hospital, while we were out of town. When we picked him up, he had very clearly been sedated without our consent or knowledge. He acquired a small injury while in the yard with another dog, and while it is understandable that these things happen, it was my understanding that the animals are supposed to be under supervision in the yard. Thankfully, the injury is minor and he will be okay, but that isn’t the real issue with the service received from Brainerd Hills Veterinary Hospital. The place is devoid of customer service. The Veterinarian (or perhaps Vet Tech—I’m not certain because they didn’t introduce themselves or their position) is the only person on duty who showed any semblance of hospitality and humanity, and I feel it was forced, since they felt liable for our dog’s condition.
Not to mention, our previous experience with Brainerd Hills Veterinary Hospital did not go well either. We called and requested an appointment to board our dog for specific dates, and the customer service representative assured me that we could do so. The appointment was confirmed over the phone, but when we brought him in for that stay, no one had booked it in the system, and no one expected us that morning. Customer service was neither polite nor efficient during that process.
On the surface, the services offered here are at a good price point, but I’ve come to realize that cost cutting isn’t worth it, when it comes to the healthcare and wellbeing of our animal. I left him happy and well and received him back sedated, wobbly, mildly injured, and a bit traumatized.
After our dog’s most recent stay, we decided against using the services of Brainerd Hills Veterinary Hospital any further, going forward.

The staff was very helpful, polite, and friendly. This was my first visit, and maybe there were extenuating circumstances, but there was a strong urine odor in the lobby.

We love all the vets here!! No what you take your baby in for they find it. It doesn't matter what we go in for they give our pets a thorough check every time. You may have to wait a few minutes when you arrive but that's because they spend a good amount of time with each patient and their family. I'm so grateful to have found them!?

They are more concerned about cutting corners and saving money than your pets. They treat there hard working employees like trash. I've overheard the female vet yelling at employees and talking to them like they are worthless. The lack of compassion is a major red flag for me.

Dr. Haddock is rude and neglectful. This place has been in the news for unsanitary conditions.

Please do not take your beloved pets here. I’ll keep the details short, but my dog died in my lap in the car leaving there yesterday. They closed at 1 and I tried to call their office, but no one answered. I spoke with the older Dr. Haddock on the phone this morning and let him know she passed. I calmly discussed concerns about the care she received and told him I wish they would’ve been more honest and realistic about her prognosis. Since I would’ve had her euthanatized instead of letting her suffer and drown in Congestive Heart Failure. This man began yelling at me over the phone and told me I brought them a “train wreck disaster of a dog”. That “train wreck” was my best friend and her death has been devastating. I watched her suffer and traumatically die in my lap. I do not appreciate being yelled at after my dog passed away. This old Dr. Haddock needs to retire If he is cold, burned out, and no longer has compassion for the pets or the owners. Here’s the facts: 2 weeks ago I took her in for a consultation to have a fatty tumor removed from her arm, I did pay for prep lab-work to make sure it would be safe, I was assured it would be safe, she was over sedated when I picked her up, and then went into Congestive Heart Failure, and now she is dead. I did not want her to die like that. I’m fully aware that there are risks and benefits to any surgery, but was never told it could stress her heart and put her into CHF. My dog would still be alive if I hadn’t taken her there. You shouldn’t work in healthcare or veterinary medicine if you do not have compassion for what you are doing. This was my baby.

When called and greeted everything was fine but when brought back to the exam room, the older Dr. Haddock was very rude and very unprofessional, he then started talking down to me like I was stupid and kept on interrupting me and wouldn't let me talk. He then left the room and started talking about me to other staff members. I then got a new doctor the younger Dr. Haddock and he was great as well as the rest of the staff. I have never been talk to in such a way. I left very upset

Dr. Haddock is rude and unable to LISTEN to the full issue, before lecturing on an unrelated topic, ie immune/cell/DNA science that "You just can't understand" "You need to STOP asking so many questions." STAY AWAY if you want to best care for your animals and be treated with dignity. He also bossed his staff around and yelled at them. Very RUDE and ENTITLED man.
