Update 2023:We stayed here again for a weekend getaway and once again had an incredible stay! We chose a different room this time to mix it up and were even more impressed! Rebecca went above and beyond during our stay, answering multiple questions, setting up reservations at Tony’s, and even bringing up wine glasses on a tray with an ice bucket for us one night. We will continue to stay here whenever we visit Chattanooga!2022:This was our first time staying at a bed and breakfast and we had an amazing stay at the bluff view inn! We stayed in the Frierson room, which was in the Maclellan house (the main house of the three). The house had a few sitting rooms on the main floor including a dining room that would be great for business work if needed or just looking out onto the river (it has a great view). Our room was spacious, cozy, and perfect for the two of us! As the website says, it had a little view of the river through our window and the room had lots of natural light during the day. We could control the temperature in the room, which was nice with the July heat. Check-in was super quick and easy and the innkeeper gave us great tips about the area and was incredibly informative. Every day there is a newspaper clipping set out with events around town for the day which is so thoughtful!Parking was included with our stay around the bluff district. Bottled water was available in our room daily and there were soft drinks and ice buckets that we could bring up to our room as well. Fresh coffee was also available at 6 am everyday as a little head start to our morning. One of our favorite parts of our stay was the included breakfast at Rembrandts right down the street! Their coffee is absolutely delicious and they have heavenly pastries, chocolates, and an abundance of breakfast options to choose from! We loved starting our mornings on the patio here at one of our favorite places in all of Chattanooga. We also loved having a reservation at Tony’s (across the street) included as well, which is always super busy because their authentic, freshly made Italian pasta is hands down the best! This is definitely a place you do not want to miss.Additionally, you seriously cannot beat the location of this bed and breakfast as it is within walking distance to everything! The walnut bridge is right down the road and the aquarium is down the street. This really is a walker’s paradise - we loved going on the riverwalk in both directions, exploring the city center, and even going all the way to the south side of the city. Everything was so close by and we loved how easy it was to get to it all and come back to our home base on the bluff! The only improvements we could suggest for making our stay 5/5:-the bed was very firm for our taste, but of course everyone is different, so it could just be us. However, I think some sort of mattress topper might be a good addition!-the pillows were pretty flat, but again this is subjective and we could have just brought our own-outlets/available wall plugs were very few and far between in the room, but this is a very old house so we get it. However, additional power strips may be helpful if that is allowed!Overall these are just minor things we noticed and they definitely did not significantly impact our stay. We had an absolutely wonderful time staying here and will definitely be back someday!

Great find in the heart of the city overlooking the Tennessee River. Three restored, historic homes makeup the Bluff View Inn. Within walking distance to the Walnut Steet pedestrian bridge, aquarium, museum. Tony's restaurant and Rembrandt's coffee house are also in the district.Rooms: There are 3 houses that make up the Bluff View Inn. Many choices of rooms in different price ranges based on size and view.

If you're looking for a true B&B experience, This is not the place to go. This is more like a rent a room with free breakfast. We B&B quite often, we do perfer more boutique types, saying that we expect a few things at a good B&B. One of the reasons we stay at a b&b is the meeting of people at a prepared unique breakfast by a representing employee or owner of the property and exchange sight seeing experiences. At this place we were handed a breakfast take out menu with 3 different choices for their property owned Cafe. Not a sit down Cafe, but a takeoutcafe. Although some good points: This location was the BEST. & the employees at check in were great.. We had a suite, full efficiency, paid extra for the room size. Room nice but we were told once arrive, can't use oven or stove, though it shows on line it was Available. It didn't affect us as much, but it may effect Others that were planning on using it to prepare meals. Don't advertise if you don't have it. Rooms clean, daily room pickup & towels. Improvements could be; real liquid cream for coffee NOT dried package cream, who serves that anymore ? Make sure u bring ur own hair conditioner, u only get the 2 in 1 here, and women we know that does not work. All in all It was like renting a room, not a b&b.

Best B&B I've stayed at. We were in the Bryan Room on the second floor which was huge! It was beautifully decorated and has a nice sitting area and a fireplace. The bathroom has a stand alone tub and shower. The towels were thick and fluffy! But the best thing about that room is that it's a corner room so you have windows on 2 sides that overlook the TN River. Gorgeous!!The first floor of the house is beautiful too. They offer free water, soda and ice all day. There were a few dining rooms and it seems a shame not to be seated there for breakfasts. But vouchers were provided for Rembrandts, which is about 150 yards away. We enjoyed sitting outdoors at Rembrandt's under the trellis (trying not to feed the finches that beg). Take a lovely little walk through alleyways, catch a glimpse of bakers doing pastry magic. Admire outdoor sculptures sprinkled throughout. Go towards the Bocce court and find more sculptures there as you admire the river view.Great location. Walk to Hunter Museum. Walk to the Walnut pedestrian bridge and watch the sunset. Would love to stay here again!

My husband and I stayed here last year for our anniversary, and we had such a good time that we booked the same room to stay in this year. Service is wonderful, and the rooms are great. If you stay here, you’re in the perfect location to walk to all the best stops in Chatt. We didn’t drive the entire time we stayed because we were close to everything we wanted to see.

This a great place to stay in B& style. It is located walking distance tothe downtown area and the waterfront. I have stayed there int he past and was delighted to see that they survived the covid pandemic. This B&B has several homes on the site in the Art District which are adjacent to each other. I have stayed n two of them and they were very comfortable. The staff couldn't be better.

This was my first bed-and-breakfast experience, and I really enjoyed it! I didn’t even realize that the inn was just one part of the larger property, which is all very cool with beautiful architecture and vibes. Our inn keeper, Georgia, it was very sweet and accommodating. Our room was large, and the bed was very comfortable and we slept great! My wife wasn’t super keen on the old house feel, though I loved it, but by the end of our stay, she commented on how the place had really grown on her! It’s really fun to walk over to their coffee shop, Rembrandts, to get free coffee all day, and a really delicious breakfast as a part of our stay. I would definitely come back and stay again!

We were excited about our visit and I had read the email that was sent very well. The email said free parking. The email did give a phone number to call. When we got there it was a rainy bleak day and we looked all over for where to park. There were only signs that said "paid parking" or parking on the street which was all full. We called the number on the email and I left a message. We then did not see anyone and took a chance of parking in a "tow away zone" and kept watching our car. We went inside. About 30 min later the lady to check us in came back. She immediately told my husband "we own the block" but he questioned her since it was city streets and she admitted they don't own the streets but just park anywhere as they own all the business (the lots where it said "tow away") and said it will be fine. If only someone had put this in the mail. I said I called and she said asked didn't I see the number on the desk and then chided me for not seeing that one. It set the tone for a rough start. The next day at the "breakfast" which was down the street around the block, I asked the girl which pastries and she said the bottom 2 shelves. When I asked for one of the valentines cookies, she said "not those" and I said you said the bottom 2 shelves. The girl was curt about it. We did like the room, which was cozy and had a nice bed. It needed a little step stool really as it was very high. We did not like that there was not sufficient plugs by the bed but we got around it. We did mot like how even this long after Covid, they are using that as an excuse to not serve a real breakfast in the house where you stay but instead making you have to go outside down the street and round the block.

Paid 265 with tax for what was supposed tol be a hot tub room for my birthday. It was a jetted tub and the room was SO SMALL!!! I told them how unhappy I was and they said I was paying for the view?! The view olf part of a parking lot and some of the green river?!

They went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. The setting – both inside and outside – is as lovely as the website mentions. The room was so comfortable. Usually we don’t sleep well in strange beds but I just wanted to stay in bed all day it was so comfortable. All of the buildings being centered together was fantastic. We knew of Rembrandt’s coffeehouse and Tony’s Italian restaurant from past visits and they were just as good again. Getting reservations at Tonys was soooo useful – there was a wait of over an hour for people without reservations. Location was wonderful – we could walk to everything we wanted within just a few minutes. Get the chocolate covered strawberries – we don’t usually like them but got them as it was a special weekend. They were out of this world. I had to fight my husband for them!

This is a charming, convenient place to stay! Welcoming in every way. We’ve stayed in 2 rooms here & found both to be most comfortable. Nice front porch with rockers. Right next door you have an amazing coffee house with fresh bakery items. And the Riverwalk & other attractions are close by.

We stayed two nights at the charming BnB…beautiful views, steps from the wonderful Hunter Museum and River Gallery. There private sculpture garden is world class. Great part of town…easy access to the trails and Tony’s restaurant was a perfect way to cap off the day.
