It breaks my heart to have to warn others about this place because the staff that I experienced when I first took my dog, he was diagnosed with cancer, fractured her shoulder from cancer, and needed a right leg amputation, they were very lovely to me and my dog. However, today I experienced after the surgery ended up in a massive infection and my poor dog healing from the right leg, amputation, and the cancer and now having to undergo painful wound changes because of this terrible infection, they did something unacceptable to me and my precious nine year-old dog who is so sweet and I love her so much.
She was of course in pain. It’s been two weeks since the amputation but now due to the infection, the discomfort of having this big collar on, which makes it hard for her to walk plus now these wound changes and all I have to watch her suffer after she returns home from this wound care.
This poor dog does not deserve to suffer. I went in and ask to get her pain medicine and go ahead and get some expensive antibiotics refilled. Home on October 8, 2020 445 pain pills. She was to take one and a half, three times a day. So I had more actually a few more than should’ve been in the bottle. But this hateful check came in And said she was not refilling the pain medicine and basically accused me of taking it saying it was mysteriously low. I’m sick too and have two bottles of pain medicines for myself that I don’t touch. Plus I just emptied out $10,000 of the little savings I have left to retire on for this dog surgery. I adore her I would never ever take her pain Medicines from her. This rude check that was just aggressive and horrid kept looking at me like she was gonna threaten to kick me out because I was crying. I was upset and I said please don’t make me watch this dog suffer. What all this earth because the day before the darling loving that sat down and went over her medicine and told me to keep giving her these pain medicine that that was necessary.
She had the threatening tone. I finally I did slip and I said the F word and another word. I was in the wrong, but I was distressed, and I admit that that was terrible. Next thing I know she kicks me and my dog out and saying don’t ever come back here. So what am I supposed to do with this big dog with an infection And daily bandage care now on Friday afternoon.
I went immediately and got a urine drug screen and I’m getting a hair test on Monday so I can show them. I’ve never touch that dogs medication and of course I’m calling Lawyer and thinking about reporting this to licensing. I’m sick too and it’s been very difficult recovery of my dog has been she weighs 100 pounds and it’s huge.
I called another emergency animal clinic in Chattanooga, Tennessee, which I actually was told about that their compassionate and great cancer treatment for dogs. I called them today and told them what happened and they could not believe that Animal or me would be treated that way after I’ve spent over $10,000 on this surgery and then the surgery infection was their fault and I’m still paying a fortune for it. I have nothing now.
Making an accusation against someone like me who has cancer and with my dog who does have a serious bone, cancer osteosarcoma, can prevent both of us for getting treated as we go through the end of life. It was absolutely disrespectful, and my poor doggy was gonna go have to suffer, but fortunately I’ve got another clinic that’s gonna help out, Clinic is very hungry and I was OK with that treatment I had today from the staff was just cruel don’t go here

I brought my miniature schnauzer, River, in yesterday on a Sunday for vommitting and having diarrhea with blood in it. He hadn’t eaten since Friday night. Dr. Brunagan and the staff were wonderful. They gave him fluids and nausea meds and he is already feeling better. He ate his dinner tonight and is getting back to himself. I cannot thank them enough for taking care of my baby❤️

We had to have our family dog put down yesterday. I called and was crying like a baby. The staff showed so much compassion to my family and I. They allowed my whole family to go back with Jack while he crossed that rainbow bridge. 9 of us. They made me paw prints and clipped some of his fur for us. They were so sweet to us and our fur baby. Highly recommend this place to love and care for your babies.

We live in a rural area in western NC with only 1 emergency vet available to us and they were experiencing electrical problems last night. Our dog Molly had a ruptured spleen and was bleeding internally. I called the Animal Emergency & Specialty Center of Chattanooga and they said to come in as soon as we can. We were 2.5 hrs away. We thought she could just get her spleen removed and everything would be OK but she was filled with tumors that we didn't know about so we had to put her down. My husband and I were absolutely devastated. Last night was the worst night of our lives. The staff was so compassionate I can't begin to explain how appreciative I am. Thank you for everything.

We were on a road trip and our 15 year old dog with Congestive heart failure was going into heart failure with respirations at 80 per minute! They saw us immediately. Everyone was caring and gentle, efficient and professional. They saved our Taco. We are so grateful ?. I would highly recommend them.

We took our puppy here because she had yelped and started favoring her leg so we thought she had injured it. Our regular vet wasn't open since it was a Saturday Night. The staff was super helpful and nice however we were there total almost 4 hours before finally being able to leave. they staff was also shocked when they asked what happened and we said we weren't sure since it has been night time and our dog had been out in our large backyard by herself. (Dogs like to be outside? Not sure why they were in disbelief of this fact). After X-rays they found out dog had a teeny tiny hairline fracture in one of her baby toes. The vets then proceeded to wrap up her entire leg and put a cone on her which I thought was a but excessive. When I broke my finger my whole hand or arm didn't get wrapped up. They gave us expensive sedatives to keep her low energy so she wouldn't hurt herself further and they did nothing. She was running and jumping the next day and the sedatives didn't calm her down. So then after a week we took her to our regular vet to remove the wrap (per their instructions) and supposedly wrap it again.... They told us the wrap was done wrong and her leg had a rash due to tape being put directly onto her skin! This outraged me. They also said her toes were fine and healed quickly and there was no reason to continue with a wrap and to let her do her normal behaviors. She has been fine ever since but that rash took 3 weeks to clear up. Almost 800$ spent for something that healed in a week and get a rash from. My regular Vet said it was a bit overkill. Anyways, I wouldn't go here unless there is something extremely wrong with your pet and you can't get a hold of your regular vet. Nice staff, I'm sure they tried their best and all but a bit overkill with everything and VERY expensive.

Spent $1153, still NO information about what’s wrong with my cat. She’s having seizures, they “can’t diagnose”….. Every time I call for more information on medicine or dosage they act like they don’t know their a$$ from a hole in the ground! I’d go anywhere else BUT here. Never suggesting this place to anyone I know with animals. All the people that work there are ditsy in the brain.

Thank god my dog wasn’t dying when I brought her in. I got there 6:45am and no one else was there. Called before I came to make sure they could take us bc my dog had an infected blister on her back paw. When I got there I waited in a room for 20 min. Asked front desk what was going on and she said she would tell them I was there and assured me there were 2 Vets Present. Waited another 10 min, rang the bell in the room and a tech came in and said she didn’t know I had been waiting and that a vet was stuck in traffic and the other one wasn’t seeing patients. Could not tell me how long we would have to wait. I will never come back here again. I am very lucky my dogs condition wasn’t more serious bc there was no triage or MD available !

On 8/27/24 we brought our 13 year old cat to this clinic for what we thought may have been an abscess. He was lightly bleeding and leaking fluid from an area on his abdomen. We were immediately taken into a room and a nurse came in to check his vitals and take him to the back for an exam. A short while later the veterinarian DeAnne Fanta came back to our room to talk to us. She explained that they had given him a sedative and pain medication so that they could shave his abdomen to be able to further investigate the wound area. She showed us a picture on her phone that she had taken of our cat’s abdomen that showed a largely bruised area with a small area of ulcerated skin. She stated several times that this kind of bruising was generally caused by blunt trauma or could be a systemic disease or clotting disorder. She said there wasn’t a way to know anymore without going in surgically to see what the cause may be. She reiterated that this kind of bruising was usually caused by blunt trauma and repeatedly insinuated that we had done something to hurt out cat. She said ‘blunt trauma’ over and over and stated on our paperwork ‘diagnosis open for cause, possible trauma.’ Dr. Fanta suggested leaving him overnight for observation but we could not afford an overnight stay. We explained that we did already have an appointment with our regular vet the next day and decided to take him home. We were given antibiotics and pain medication to give him overnight…
The next day his condition worsened quickly. He vomited several times. His abdomen was more swollen and the bruising had turned to a vivid red and purple. He was crying and in so much pain he could barely lift his head. We took him to our vet who took us in immediately. Within minutes the vet came in to tell us they had done an ultrasound and discovered an active hemorrhage in his abdomen. The vet explained even if they got him into surgery right then he likely would not come thru it. We couldn’t stand to see him suffering and had to make the heartbreaking decision to let him go. His condition was so bad that we were not even allowed to be with him while it happened….
The following day I called and spoke to the emergency vets director, Ernie. He was very nice, listened to my story, offered his condolences and promised to address Dr. Fanta’s insinuations. I told him that we knew our cat was older, overweight and sick and were aware there was the possibility he might not make it. My concern was that no scans or ultrasound were even offered as part of our cat’s emergency treatment.
I gave 2 stars for 2 of the staff in particular. Our nurse, whose name I did not get (she has dark curly hair) and for Ernie, the director. They were both very kind, listened to our concerns and were very accommodating to us. However, we were very dissatisfied with DeAnne Fanta for insinuating we would do something to hurt our pet. I’d like to say that anyone heartless enough to intentionally hurt an animal would never visit an emergency vet! Our regular vet was astounded that no ultrasound was done considering our cats condition. I cannot help but feel that Dr Fanta overlooked a very serious problem that should’ve been obvious to someone of her degree. I do not blame anyone for the loss of our cat, but a little more investigating and a simple ultrasound would have given us an answer sooner and our pet would not have suffered the way he did.

They take great care of your pets here & are always there when you need them! But the cost of care is more expensive than a lot of other local vet hospitals. Regardless, they are a great option if you need a vet quickly after hours.

Honestly they deserve a zero had an emergency on a Sunday brought my love in 500 plus dollars later they sent us home with medicine said she would be fine in a day or two she died within hours of leaving the office and you don't have to say you are sorry because I already know how sorry your office is and will never be back and will let everyone I know how sorry you are and to stay away
