“Springfield Mini Storage provided me with about 16 years of secure, no-frills, economically priced storage. Probably half price of expensive storage units down south in the big city of Nashville. Richard Kaul is a friendly facility manager who has invested efforts in improving and maintaining the facility over the years.Richard worked with me on my often irregular hours of working and getting unit access with a pass code outside of normal weekly work hours. I also took an automatic payment option which made it easier to pay without fear of missing a rental payment especially when I lived 6 hours away in another state.Notes to make storage unit work for you at Springfield Mini Storage (or really any exterior storage unit):-The units are no frills which means no electricity. The lighting issue is solved by lights that plug into your car charger especially these days with LED spot lights with already built in 12volt plugs as an option to 110 volt plug in.. I orginally used 12 volt automotive lights later 12 volt LED auto lights. Leave the light set up in your unit so it's always there no matter what vehicle you are driving when you visit.Storage environment: this is an protected from external weather not climate controlled facility. Wrap and protect your items appropriately to protect from humidity and seasonal changes. I even had a plastic cooler to keep some collectables dry and out of humidity. Always keep stuff off the floor because the cold concrete condenses humidity and there's always potential for water or dampness on the floor of exterior units. I did not have water issues but I'd used pallets to raise stuff off the floor so I wouldn't have noticed anyway. One note is be prepared to occasionally have wasp spray during warm weather. Because of the exterior units, sometimes wasps make nests within the metal buildings. Nothing that management can do about this issue - just the nature of the environment.-Make shelves for maximize your space. (I also used pallets and pallet wood to construct crude shelves for filling up my units capacity almost to the interior roof.)-Keep a cheap folding chair and rain umbrella in your unit to allow you to sit down and keep the rain off of yourself if transferring items to/from a vehicle.-Due to the quirky nature of the units construction on a hill, the approximately 24" to 36" tall concrete retaining walls in front of some of the units front drive up pads, allowed me to back up my pick up truck with tailgate down to a certain height wall and load up a motorcycle without using a cycle loading ramp by just pushing the motorcycle from my unit. Not saying that this would happen for everyone but it helped to bring cycles to my residences where I'd replace the batteries and fuel them up.Items to know: Don't work on vehicles there, always bring your trash out for disposal elsewhere, don't block driveways, etc. which is all typical concern for your storage unit neighbors. AND NEVER EVER STORE food or food items in ANY storage unit because it attracts bugs and/or vermin.Overall great experience with Springfield Mini Storage and wouldn't hesitate to rent from the company again...”

“I originally made a reservation for a one-way rental from this location through the website and the quote I was provided was around $150. I got there to pick up the rental and the lady who is the manager there changed my reservation to an in-town rental. She had already taken close to 45 minutes to get the reservation completed and I didn't have the time to argue with her about it so I just let it go. Instead of it costing me $150, it ended up costing me $227.89, but again, I didn't have the time or energy to argue about it. I got an email for a survey and submitted the survey and simply said that because of this service, I would not recommend this location to a friend (a price increase of over 150% of what I'd originally been told it would cost is a good reason, right??). The manager just called me and wanted to know why I wouldn't recommend her UHaul services. I first told her I wasn't comfortable talking with her about it but she kept pushing. I told her the above information and she wanted to argue with me about it! I told her again that she could have her manager reach out to me to discuss it because I wasn't comfortable talking to her about it and she got argumentative! She told me she was the manager and she wanted to know why. She insisted a one-way trip would have cost me more and I told her again that the reservation quoted me around $150. She has been extremely nice but now I feel like I'm being harassed because I gave an honest review of this location.”
