I had swim lesson today with Jennifer Broadbridge, and I learned so much in 1 hour. I don't know how to swim and in 1 hour, Jennifer had taught me how to float, swim on my back, swim on my stomach, breathing techniques, and proper hand techniques! She was so patient, kind, and encouraging! It is hard enough not knowing how to swim as an adult but she made it so fun and easy! I would HIGHLY recommend Jennifer when it comes to swim lessons!

Sauna & steam room to small. Steam room it not like use to be temperature goes to low before gets back . Jacuzzi to the same issue plus water filthy, dirty. At the end at Christian organization how you allow female & male the same sauna & steam room , very sad because of that my wife cancelled the membership.

The new building is nice but the customer service at this YMCA is terrible. Although I really wanted to keep my membership, after multiple unresolved billing errors I am fed up with dealing with the incompetent employees and the manager who is not suitable for a managerial position. I finally gave up and canceled my membership. My monthly fee jumped from $83 to $103 incorrectly and without any notice when I suspended my account due to sickness. I discovered the discrepancy after resuming it. Their administration staff (I believe her name is Kristin) spent a very long time on the computer looking around and talking to me trying to fix the error. After 40 minutes without success she said she would call me back after investigation and speaking to the manager. No one called me back or followed up by email. It was a total bummer that I got charged $103 a month for two months when I was not even going to YMCA at all but their idiotic policy does not allow phone requests for suspension and I was very sick with Covid. Once again today I got stuck at the font desk missing half of my Yoga lesson when I returned to take my first lesson because their incompetent employee didn't handle it right when I requested the account to be resumed. The lady told me very clearly that everything was good to go and I would be charged my monthly fee on the first of October. Then they sent me this most poorly worded email with the subject title of "Receipt/Invoice" and the email body saying " Processed Outstanding". So naturally I assumed that was just a receipt for the first month payment. But the front staff Nancy told me I didn't pay and that's why they charged me $10 non-payment fee. To sort out the issue we spent 30 minutes talking to her but she was no help. Finally she let me go to class and come back to handle the issue afterwards. I returned to the front desk but she was gone. I got shifted to another old lady she clearly had no clue what she was doing. Everything I asked her she either couldn't find it or had to go inside the manager's office to ask. So I asked to speak to a manager directly after spending another half an hour with her, total of one hour of my day was gone and nothing was resolved. The manager Donna very reluctantly finally came out. She was clueless and more unpleasant than the other ladies. She was not willing to waive the erroneously charged monthly fee even though my referral friend never left YMCA during the time my rate jumped up and she was not even willing to waive the $10 fee that was completely due to their incompetent employee's mishandling of my account. She kept deflecting the issue to "the association" as if she was just a token there. Never again I will step foot in this completely messed up poorly run organization. They have no regard for customers' time and don't know what they are doing. I have a joint account with my daughter. Time after time some of the employees couldn't even tell my daughter was on the account and we got stopped while rushing to the class. There are a lot better options out there for fitness. Don't be fooled by the appearance of the building.

I really regret signing up for a gym membership here. There is not enough room at this gym to feel comfortable while working out, at least for women anyway. Every time I’ve gone, (I’ve tried going at all times of day) I was so stressed out, I couldn’t focus on my workout at all. People (aka men) will wait and watch you until you get off and leave equipment, that’s how crowded it is here. I hate it. I have felt sooooo uncomfortable every time I’ve gone. I can’t say enough how much I regret signing up. PLEASE SAVE YOUR MONEY!!!! Do not go here!

This is an accommodating facility with kind staff and good childcare and great pools. The front locker rooms could use a reno but if we don’t get ready for work here or rely on it for our main source of personal cleaning should we really be expecting something better? Near hiking trails (paved) and the parking has improved. Not as great as Maryland Farms if you like tennis (ugh, will forever miss that location) but this one is really good even though it’s a total maze.

The new workout facility and pool are fantastic! The staff is very friendly, and the childcare is super convenient as a parent. With the recent upgrades, it’s easily one of the best facilities in Middle Tennessee. Highly recommend!

This has been my home gym for many years. They have recently had major renovations where now, both YMCA members (Maryland Farms and Concord in Brentwood) can all enjoy a space to exercise, drop off their kids, escape, stay healthy, and find peace of mind.It is great to be able to see all of the same folks who have worked here for many years, and also fellow gym members who I have gone to the gym with as well.Thank you Brentwood YMCA family for making our gym less of just a gym, but a community for our neighborhood and our residents, families!

The Brentwood YMCA offers a plethora of classes, and all are taught by awesome instructors. The newly renovated facility makes it a fun place to work out!

We love this facility! They provide wonderful care for our baby when we go workout together. It’s always clean and someone is always available to help and answer questions.

Everyone is so disappointed with the renovation. There is no way the new Brentwood Y has enough room to absorb the Maryland Farms members since it's closing. They went from five hot tubs at both Ys to one. They went from four steam rooms and four saunas to one each. They decreased the amount of pool space by half. The most significant issue is the poor planning in the construction. They have a brand new sauna that was designed so that the steam coming out will burn people's legs. The Y's solution: duct tape some traffic cones around it and screw a wire basket with a taped-on sign (photos included). In the men's locker room, there are dips in the floor to where inch-deep water pools gather. That's nice to walk through. People are unhappy with the lack of space in the weight lifting area, though several meeting rooms are now never used. Another complaint I often hear is that there's no suggestion box, and the management is hidden away behind locked doors. Totally inaccessible. Lastly, the indoor pool is small and completely surrounded by concrete and steel walls and ceiling yet the high school-age lifeguards are allowed to blast music from a stereo. I've seen people try to call them and get their attention, and they don't even hear them because of the loud music bouncing around. That is a terrible safety issue when lifeguards can't hear people calling for them. The mountain of stairs and steep ramp up to the front door certainly excludes older people and people with disabilities. I'm sure it meets codes but I'd be scared to take a wheel chair down that tall ramp. The merger of the Maryland Farms Y with the Brentwood Y wasn't thought out, the renovation was poorly planned, and the management is doing its job.

Good facility and nice equipment, but the squat rack area is cramped. I feel like we’re a bit more on top of each other than when there were two Y’s to choose from. Beautiful locker rooms, though.

The renovations are great, but not sure why it was built so small and compact since it was combining two Ys into one. Always crowded and most the time you have to wait for gym equipment, especially the free weights which is a pretty big bummer. Still new equipment, outdoor workout area is great, and clean. 3.75 stars is more like it because of how crowded the space is.

I’ve recently moved back to the area, and this is the only relatively affordable gym near me with the weight lifting equipment I need. However, it’s nearly impossible to find a time of day where I’m able to use any of it. Most days it looks more like a mall in the 90’s than a serious gym. Praying that the gods deliver us something like a Gold’s Gym and SOON!

Disappointed…I want to start this by saying I’m a long time Ymca patron. I’ve been coming to this ymca for over a decade and it’s been great. These renovations leave much to be desired though. Who’s idea was it to take 2 saunas 2 steam rooms and 2 hot tubs and compress them into 1 of each that are coed and are the same size as one of the previous. Also who’s grand idea was it to make these only accessible from the pool side. ( if there’s lightning within a certain radius you aren’t allowed in the pool room) aside from that the showers were poorly designed and pool water with no type of drainage. Definitely would recommend at least an inch thick sandal to wear in the showers or your foot is getting drenched in old nasty water. While we are still in the locker room let’s talk about how the swimsuit dryer is still out of order?? what’s the deal with that? it’s been weeks? The new outdoor pool would be great if they cleaned it even the slightest bit. If you take a dip in there just expect random knots of hair scattered everywhere. Don’t even get me started on the actual layout. Why is their a kitchen on the first floor. It sits completely unused. All of these conference rooms for what? they have been untouched. Basketball court is still unavailable unfortunately. You go upstairs for the actual workout equipment and it’s so unbelievably underwhelming. Forget even trying to get a bench there. With the small amount of benches and such a large volume of people might as well start calling ahead to rent one?.

All the millions they spent, that’s what they came up with at the YMCA in concord road? Combining 2 Ys and it’s way too small. Very crowded every time I’m here, morning or evening. Way less weight machines like smith compared to treadmills and ellipticals that’s why people are waiting in line to use the smith machine. Whoever did this wasn’t an athletic thinking about the younger members. The Yplay has no outdoor activities. The saunas, OMG don’t get me started. As a conservative and religious based gym, why is the saunas combined and small where a man or woman is sitting few inches from each other and in the pool side so when storm comes, they close everything. I’m not paying just for the gym, my apartment has that.
