I took a bridesmaids dress here for alterations and requested they take it in at the waist, hem the bottom and add a bustle. The hemming and bustle were fine, but the entire trunk of the dress went from being way too big to too small. Requested that they let it back out. I had to go back twice after the first follow up fitting with no resolution. Come to find out they left no fabric after cutting on it the first time, making the dress very uncomfortable and difficult to wear. Not to mentioned super expensive. Definitely would not recommend.Services: Dress alterations

This is my first review where I wish zero stars was an option. DO NOT GO HERE. They do not listen nor seem to care honestly. I took my wedding dress here and the older man, who I assume is the main tailor, butchered my hemline. I came in and asked for a floor-length hemline, mind you doing what were told to do, while wearing the heels we are planning to wear. Which I did. When I came back in to try on the dress after the alteration, the hemline was super diagonal and therefore only floor length (barely at that) on my left side but on my right, you could see my toes/shoe. He said he could try to fix it but flipping over the material, the extra material length was already cut. There was zero chance this could be fixed, but I sighed and hoped for the best. Left, came back and nope. So now I had to hurry and find new shoes to replace the ones I fell in love with. No apologies received whatsoever.Leaving, I went to pick up my fiancé at his tailor nearby. He told her of my situation and on her own she offered to help last minute. Not only did she help, she found more mistakes. She found a legit hole left by Alterations by Kay on the ride side waist line area. The so-called bustle Alterations by Kay did, didn't reinforce the buttons the bustle hangs on to. Now this next issue is something I wouldn't have known but the new place pointed out. Was the color of the mesh on the bra area was off, which to me is the level of attention to detail and caring given by this other place. Then to add, the dress wasn't fitting. Alterations by Kay made it seem like it would cost an arm and a leg to make it fitting and not enough time. Yet my fiancé's tailor was able to do and at half the price of this place. With also on such short notice and length of time.I don't get alterations done a lot, so I wasn't sure in the beginning what is priced high or not. Yet now knowing the level of service and hospitality I received from the other place vs here. Alterations by Kay overcharges by a landslide.Sidenote: Majority of the reviews are from the previous owners. Which makes sense and wish I had read more into.Second sidenote: While picking up my dress, another lady was in getting her dress altered, being seen by the same older man. She was asking for the dress to be more fitting, yet he was disagreeing with her request. I am completely at a loss with words on his thought process. Do less but charge more apparently.

I asked for floor length alterations to a bridesmaid dress and what I got was a maxi length hemline. The workers and owners seemed to not care about my concerns that it wasn’t what I asked for, and instead charged me a higher price than what they originally quoted me at. Will not go here again.

I had a very pleasant experience here, Kay did a phenomenal job taking in my dress and hemming it, it fit like a glove when she was done. Everything got done in a timely fashion, I’ll definitely be going back if I need a tailor in the area!

Kay was a joy to work with and transformed my wedding dress! I brought in a Lazaro ballgown-style wedding dress to Kay with a list of changes (hemming, taking in the sides, lowering the neckline, adding a bustle, adding cups, etc). She detailed the cost of each alteration and worked with my schedule. Her work was high quality and I look forward to bringing future alteration needs to her. The pictures attached show the dress upon purchase and the altered gown.
