Easy to locate in the airport. Check in was simple, less than 5 minutes. I got a compact car, they gave me a Hyundai Venue mini SUV, something the size of a kia rio. The rental from Friday morning to monday morning was about $260 and they put an additional $200 hold on my American expresss card. Why don't the rental car agencies EVER mention this, you just find the transaction on your card. This must be in the small print!! I have full coverage car insurance but they still do a hold on the card. They send you out alone to find the car within the rows of other cars in the heat. Care was great on gas as i commuted about 80 miles a day. I didnt have to get gas again until returning back to the company. I filled the tank up, just like I picked it up! upon arrival at the airport, the customer service counter was empty/closed and they direct you do drop the keys off in a drop box. I would rent from them again! value -3 stars/ service -3 stars/ location 3 stars

I’ve rented through numerous companies for business and vacations; this was the first time I ever had an issue with a rental on a trip. However, when I returned the car and advised the associate, it was promptly taken care of.While I appreciate the customer service and courtesy, the issue I experienced could have been extremely detrimental. It is our responsibility as drivers to inspect the vehicle prior to driving, but companies are also responsible for maintaining all facets of their vehicles, regardless of possible loss of revenue. I will continue to rent through Budget, but will be more keen to checking the car first.

Run do not walk from this company! Horrible customer service. Made a pre paid reservation and had to cancel 6 hours later. Charged me a $50.00 fee. This is a scam to extort money from people. I should have read the reviews about Budget on Consumer Affairs prior to making a reservation. Complete 1 star reviews . I’ve never seen a company get all 1 star reviews before. First and last time Budget Rental Car customer. I should have stayed with Enterprise Rent a Car in Johnson City.

Budget corporate is miserable to deal with. Half a day wasted and conversations with seven different people at their call center finally led to an acceptable answer to a rental extension (thank you Melanie). That said, Eli at the Tri Cities Airport location was amazing. I would gladly give her 5+ stars. After trying to reach the rental counter over the phone (which never happened because the phone system continued to send me back to the corporate menu:( to make another change to the rental, I drove an hour to speak face to face with an actual person. Eli was friendly and eager to help me find a solution to a complicated rental situation.Moral of the story is that unless it’s anything other than a simple rental and nothing goes wrong or needs to be changed, avoid Budget. And if you do need help and find yourself at Tri Cities, you want Eli to be the competent face behind the counter!

Crew was fast and efficient and the car was clean and fully fueled., however, that's all I have to say nice about them. They told me to look for a red car when the car was green (harder to find), tires needed air, and the baby car seat I rented wasn't up to code. Plus, I had to install it myself. When I went back to get some help from the counter guy, he told me they were "... legally not allowed ..." to install the seat. What?However, the car has performed fantastic as we drove it all over the Bristol, Tn/Va area. I think my complains are more about the lack of hospitality, in the hospitality industry. Maybe the company exec's should explain that Budget doesn't just rent cars, they are a component in creating a great experience. Nothing should go wrong. Or, at least nothing they have control of.

The desk clerk was very polite courteous friendly the car was amazing loved it very clean and I will be renting a car from you all again thank you so much for your hospitality

This reviews for the location at the Charlotte Douglas airport in Charlotte North Carolina. I had managed to book my reservation incorrectly. Audrey at the desk very graciously canceled my erroneous reservation and got us into another car in a matter of minutes. She was extremely helpful and kind. I so very much appreciate what she did and would recommend them to anyone.

Very unhelpful. Customer service says go to the budget desk for my issues, budget desk says call customer service. Get bounced back and forth like a ping pong ball with NO actual help for my issues. Rented me a car that said it needed an oil change not even halfway through our trip and we had to have it switched out at another budget location which was extremely inconvenient. When we got back we asked for some sort of compensation for the issues we’ve been having and the lady said the guy who does the oil changes is “old” and doesn’t know how to reset the car when he does an oil change but that she would do a partial refund but because we prepaid customer service would have to approve it. Customer service you can’t understand them or get them to give you a straight answer. All around a terrible experience and not a single person at budget customer service or the airport has been any help. Last time we will ever waste our time here.

I was reluctant to go to an airport location for a casual rental but I was pleasantly surprised, both employees that I interacted with during the pick up and drop off were very nice and very accommodating. They both seem to want to make sure I was happy with my rental before I left the parking lot and genuinely seemed to care how my trip went when I returned. When I need to rent another vehicle I will be going right back to this location.

STEER CLEAR!!!! IN MY OPINION, THEY ARE A HORRIBLE PLACE TO RENT FROM! Cars are great but they charge you for extra things and you don't find out til later. No trash was left in the car. It just needed a good vacuum. They took $200 out of my account a week later to "clean" it and didn't even tell me!!!!

My rental experience here was quick, easy, and the car was clean and smelled nice! Not sure why there is so much negativity here. I would definitely go back and use this service again if I had to. If you've got a good head on your shoulders and haven't made careless mistakes in the past that would otherwise hinder you from getting a rental vehicle, then this is the place to go. Don't let the cheaper price deter you, as said before, I had a high quality vehicle that was clean, low mileage, and performed well for my 7 hr trip. Thank you Budget!

The level of furious I am with my experience this afternoon is limitless. I have had a reservation for several months. I called earlier this week to make sure that everything was good for my reservation, and there was nothing I needed to know, and was told everything was good.However, when I arrived to pick up my car and start my weekend, I was told that because I had chosen to use my debit card instead of a credit card, they had run my credit and I had been denied due to my poor credit (which is suspicious in and of itself, because I know better). Okay, well, can I change and use my credit card, and pay the deposit in cash, since I have a daily limit on my credit card to prevent theft? No. Can my partner give you his card on our shared account, that does not have the limit? No.It was not just that every single logical solution was denied, it was the fact that the woman seemed excited to have the opportunity to be unhelpful. I even said, “there has to be a solution for this, I have had this reservation for months”, and she said, “ the only solution I have for you is the number to a cab company, because you are not getting a car. This is race weekend, they are all booked.” Yeah, I know they are booked. You were holding the information for my. Booked. Car. I am pretty well convinced by her behavior that she had someone offer her a kickback if she could screw someone out of a car to give to them instead, because that is the only sane explanation for the way I was treated.Big shout outs to Lyft Driver Scott Latham, and Enterprise Rent A Car for coming in clutch and helping make sure my entire race weekend (yeah lady, I know it is race weekend. That is why I am here too) was not ruined. I have also cancelled my other upcoming reservation with Budget, because this behavior at one location, makes the company unacceptable to me at every location. This is not how you treat people. Ever.

Rates have rocketed but they are everything you'd expect from a car rental. I usually use Enterprise but they didn't have a presence at Tri City airport.

The only issue I had was that they put a $250 hold on a card until it is returned and I did not expect that but other than that great service, friendly employees, and the rental car was nice and clean.
