We stopped by Phillips General Store in Bell Buckle, TN after touring the George Dickel Distillery in Tullahoma, TN. The place was jam-packed with antiques, collectibles, books, toys, and scented Christmas Santa candles that last 175 hours. When I say packed, it was floor to ceiling with narrow walkways. The proprietor was extremely cordial and helpful. I picked up an old paperback songbook entitled 'Christmas Carols.' It was about thirty pages with classic illustrations and beautiful hymns and songs. It was priced extremely low considering the age and condition. To the Mayor of Bell Buckle: I would add that the restrooms are insufficient and in poor condition for the volume of shoppers that come to your small town. The restrooms in most stores were non-existent, the cafe at the far right end had closed one of there restrooms for storage, and employees use only, and the towns public restrooms were nasty. Someone from the State Public Health office needs to make a trip to Bell Buckle and do an inspection. Follow me on Yelp, for more hidden gems and local favorites.

One of the best antique stores in middle TN! Would highly recommend to anybody who loves antiquing and the owner Billy is literally the sweetest!

The pathways are so narrow that it's a very uncomfortable shopping experience, with people constantly trying to get past you and such, even while you're in line to check out. If you are claustrophobic, I would not recommend this shop.

Billy is an amazing guy and very knowledgeable about antiques and the stories that come with them! Best antique store around hands down

This shop is jammed packed with all manner of curiosities. Lots of suoer cute finds but it's pretty pricey. I don't even think downtown Franklin is that expensive. They really really love their dough bowls. I saw a medium sized one for $350. WHAT?? I thought it might have mistakenly been priced instead of $35. Even $55 but $350? The others I saw were similarly priced. You can go a few doors down and get a gigantic one for $55. Crazy. Well anyway, that being said, if you're on the hunt for antiques, you'll surely find something here. They also have lots of yummy treats.

One of my all time favorite antique stores! There is something for everyone! Loved talking to the owners felt like I had known them for years! I could stay in their stores for hours! Also must try the ice cream shop down the way! Made my heart so full! To see the antique jewelry Christmas trees alone!! Show stoppers !

The owner of this store was incredibly rude and had horrible customer service. He answered every question with rude remarks and tones. My mom simply asked if her receipt would arrive via email, and he responded, "how should I know?!" I've always enjoyed shopping here in the past, but after this experience, I will never do business here again. Some people should never be in customer service.

The man behind the desk was rude and condescending to my entire party. We will always skip this store each time we’re shopping in Bell Buckle in the future.

I had pleasure of experiencing the charm of Bell Buckle today and enjoyed every minute, but especially the time spent in Phillips General Store/antique shop. Billy was charming and welcoming. Thank you for everything. You were right, your mom’s cooking was the best!

This was the antique store I was looking for! Most of "antique" stores in Bell Buckle had mainly big box craft store faux antiques. But this place was fantastic!! It was packed with really old stuff. The gentleman running the register was really friendly and gave us advice on must see spots in town.

This incredible little store is PACKED with true antiques. Everything from tiny items like bundles of vintage lace to big furniture pieces like a vintage apothecary desk and everything you could imagine in between….Vintage Christmas, Halloween, valentines…. Ladies lace-up boots and gloves. It’s amazing -I could have spent hours today in an antiques business run by 3 generations over a period of 135 years. Just ask the brothers!! There is great conversation to be had and fun stories behind intriguing pieces to be heard! The Jaynes’ will be back!

We were amazed at how over priced and disorganized this establishment was. Items were so packed on top of each other that you couldn’t look at anything hardly. What we did see was so completely over priced it was laughable. Thankfully it wasn’t a wasted trip. The Livery Antiques around the corner was great to visit and we left with several treasures.
