My son was on the waitlist for the summer program. The director Lisa stated she was sending us over the information and had room for him. She was informed of his Autism and him needing assistance with using the toilet. She said it would be fine and would call us right back. It was clear in that moment that she no longer wanted him to attend. We never received any information by email or mail. She also never called us back. My wife emailed multiple times and has been ignored. We spoke on March 7th and have heard nothing back. Discriminating against a child with disabilities is illegal. What a horrible thing to do knowing we have no where for him to go during summer break.

Horrible they didn’t feed my grand baby for the whole day and just let her cry the whole day and never called anyone!! Don’t use this place.

I wish there was a zero star option. This place is terrible. The director Lisa is the most unprofessional person I have ever met. I've actually overheard her yell at other staff members right in front of parents. The teachers act like they do not want to be there, always on their phones. The turn over rate on staff is very alarming. I did not leave my daughter there very long at all. Her teacher named Angela was the rudest person I have ever encountered in my life. She never smiled or seemed friendly she looks miserable all the time. I can't believe this place has not been closed already.

We have loved our experience with Sonshine Learning Center. I have two boys there and they have loved ALL of their teachers. The prices are affordable and they always have so much fun!

My 8 yr old son goes here during the summer and it’s been really nice to keep him active while we work. My 4 yr old loves her class and the teachers/care providers. They are in bigger groups, but they seem to have a lot of fun while still having some learning time.

I wish I checked out reviews of this place before I sent my child here. The majority of the experience was a nightmare! When my child turned 1, they gave a birthday gift that was NOT age appropriate! The gift bag contained 2 tiny erasers (about the size of my thumb nail) and pencils. I don't have to tell you that these are choking hazards as well as poke a stick in your eye hazard! There were other things in there that didn't pose as a hazard, but just not age appropriate! One day when I came to pick my child up she was "teething" on one of the teachers flip flops! Why was this teacher bare foot in the first place! Children are required to wear closed toe shoes (some fire hazard) I think teachers should also have to wear closed toe shoes especially if you are responsible for getting my child out of the door in the case of a fire! AND keep them on your feet so my child can't reach them! On two occasions, the girl who opens in the morning (Angela was her name) was late getting to work and caused me to be late for work. The first time, no apology until I had to practically ask for one and the second time, no apology AT ALL! Very unprofessional girl. Not friendly, never greeted us in the morning or even spoke to us! A lot of the girls who worked there were like that. I have a real problem with people who don't acknowledge or speak to my baby! They were not happy to be there or work around children! I have heard girls complain about other children and parents aloud and across halls. The girls/"teachers" were always moved around to other rooms. There are tons of toys stacked in the hallway not to be played with. This was for months at a time. I never knew why. One time there were some toys that had been cleaned in the baby room sitting on a mat drying for at least a week. My child got a toy from the pile that had bleach water in it and it got all over her. They assure me that it didn't get in her mouth. They did replace the outfit, but toys should not be left out like that! One of the girls who would feed my child in the morning would complain about the way my baby's food would smell and she let me know it. I didn't want my child to eat some of the things that the school offered for snack because they were not healthy options. They were high sugared cereals and graham crackers and cereal with honey in them. Babies should NOT have honey before the age of 1 for the risk of infant botulism! A daycare should know this! Read this: . I'm not taking a chance! The teacher seemed very inconvenieced.
UPDATE 9/10/14
Let me say in regards to the mommyknows best....I hope your child is having a wonderful experience in daycare. After watching the news about a child being left in the closet at Kindercare on Pleasant View, I SO wish I contacted the news and DHS about Sonshine! Let me clear something up. My baby was playing with a toy that had bleach in it that was in the ROOM!! NOT in the hallway! I am not lashing out. These ARE ALL actual facts!! The director wasn't there! seems a little fishy getting 3 positive reviews within 3 days all attacking my review! employees reviewing? or did the daycare ask parents to review to bring the star rating up?
