I love "my airport"! I hope it never becomes an International Airport, because that would mean more traffic and more people. I like it that it's a HUB, but I know they will be adding another wing and expanding very soon. Because it is a HUB, most flights are connecting flights, unless flying regionally. I've been flying out of here once or twice per year for over two decades. My car is always safe and I've never had a bad experience with the staff or anything. It's always great to come home to TYS!

TSA were rude. Most people expect TSA to be rude to a point, but they were particularly rude today. The airport itself is small and easy to find gates and rental agencies.

When we pulled up there was a car waiting there, the signs say no parking. The guy asked us to back up which we could not do bc someone was behind us. The amount of time it took for my friend to move her vehicle she literally could have just let me out but the guy outside wasn’t being the friendliest. After this I got through TSA pre check quickly except I left water in my cup and forgot to dump it bc the parking thing. I had to go all the way back to the front of the airport and dump my cup and come back through TSA. It would have been nice to have a dump station where they go through your stuff. I know my own fault. The people I interacted with were nice enough though. The rest of the experience has been pleasant. It is a smaller airport so not a lot of craziness going on.

This airport is one of the worst I have been so far.
Starting from employees showing up at the very last moment for the bag check in to the huge lines for the security check.
Arrived at 3 a.m for the flight and made it through the line at 5.18 with my boarding starting at 5.25 a.m.
This is no joke!

Had a flight July 9th at 5 pm departure but when we tried to leave they pulled us back because of weather which was fair then after an hour of waiting they try to get us to leave again but then suddenly the hydraulic breaks weren’t working so they canceled the flight and we had to wait in line to reschedule for an hour an a half then find out all flights from Knoxville don’t leave till 12-5pm the next day the only early flights were in Nashville is what we were told and after all the trouble they give us a 12 dollar a piece meal ticket and when we arrived in Nashville they didn’t even reschedule I had to call customer service and do it myself. Delta please be better at communicating with customers especially when they drop over 1500 on a flight

Do not use this airport if you have traveler's in your group that are handicapped, elderly or children. The drop off and pick up is horrible and the parking enforcement (Richards) are horrible to deal with. I followed my son and his wife to the airport so that I could bring back the car seat, my son dropped my daughter in law and baby along with a stroller and all of the luggage (I was here to help) but they would not let me park and walk the girls inside while my son returned the rental car. They had to stand on the sidewalk in the heat waiting on my son. They have made a mess with the no parking situation and the people outside are horrible. I would rather drive to Nashville. Hire decent human beings please.

Overall airport is decent. Very small though.
My biggest complaint would be the “Police officers” towed our car cause we dropped our daughter off to go to bootcamp.
We did park in a parking lot that was free.
But
Apparently you have to stay with your car while it’s parked?
Never heard of that.
“Park your car here for free, but we will tow it if you're not in it”
Officer was absolutely on a power trip. Thinking he was doing something for the greater good and we were cold hardened criminals cause we parked in a parking lot and didn't stay in the car….
Note to this airport.
You have MEPS there. Maybe idk maybe give parents sending their kids away like 1 or 2 hours of free parking.
I know you're missing out on a dollar but just a thought.
