Called to inquiry about something and get screamed at over something somebody else did. I have never seen such poor customer service. Avoid at all cost

We only had time for coffee this stop, but there were plenty of customers seated at the tables and enjoying a more leisurely breakfast. My hunting buddies and I like this place a lot and always stop for breakfast, or at least coffee, on the way home. (The store sells dry ice, too, and we need to buy that to keep our harvested pheasants frozen.) Hi-Vee Deli food prices are low and the place has a friendly vibe. As usual, it was fun to browse the adjacent produce section of the supermarket, which always has some produce varieties or novelties that we don't see back home. This time it was an Osage orange display that caught my eye. These knobby green "hedge apples" aren't edible, and they can irritate your skin if you handle them, but they make interesting fall decorations.

We have company in town from GA. We brought my husband's mother and her mother-in-law to this particular Hyvee (Sycamore and 26th) specifically because of the bulk candy. It was approximately 930 pm. My mother-in-law LOVES chocolate stars and she was so excited as she scooted her little scooter over to the candy tubs. (Like, Excitement so much that I took pictures, Excitement). They scooped up some in a bag, and went to weigh them. There was no tag to enter. We went to the nearest Hyvee employee, and asked for assistance. He came over and sounded jovial, asking who was causing problems. We smiled and told him the problem. We thought he was kidding as he said "I can't believe they keep doing this to us. I have to just take this away." He then picked up the tub and started walking away. We kind of laughed, and said wait, we have already got some in a bag, which is ready to weigh. He said where are they. my husband looked at me, and then took the bag to him. The man said "I have to take these too. It upsets me, probably more than you." We asked if there was a manager or something that could price them to sell for her. He said, "If there was a guy to do it, it would be me, and I don't know. I just can't." He started to walk off, and my mother-in-law said "Wait, can I just have 1?" As he is walking away, about 20 feet away, he said "No, that's the equivalent of stealing. you don't ask McDonald's for 1 fry." Her face fell. How frustrating and embarrassing. We went there specifically for that, she was so excited, and then the candy got taken from her. Literally. Yes, the equivalent would have been stealing to just take them, even 1, but we wanted to pay. Hell, I would have left 1.00 for her to just have 1 chocolate star. It made the whole group of us uncomfortable, and some of us sad. I'm just very disappointed. Not very good customer service Hyvee.

This grocery store is amazing! Large fresh, beautiful selection of fruits and vegetables. Great bakery and an even more amazing long meat counter with more options than one can imagine! Love the Asian, comfort food, and pizza that you can order hot and fresh. Not to mention fresh soups and a salad bar! What a great selection for a grocery store! I only wish I had one where I live! Great floral selection as well! Very friendly helpful staff!

Great salad bar - we use it for the meal. It has almost anything you're hungry for, meats, soups, tacos, lots of veggie salads and fresh veggies too, several fruits, some pudding type dishes, and it's unlimited. The price is right too, less than a good burger. They also have a full deli with meals that vary by the day, a Chinese section, and a pizza section. If you can't find it here, you're not very hungry! It's in a grocery store so you can also purchase and make your own.

We always stop in Yankton on the way back from our pheasant hunt in Dimock, and the Hy Vee Deli is a favorite breakfast or coffee-and-snack choice. My coffee cost just 69 cents, which could be a senior special? The breakfast special is cheap, cheap and very popular with the locals. The breakfast muffin sandwich they sell in the cafe isn't cheap at $3.99, but it's big and tasty and worth waiting for. I've never ordered the salad bar, but I've always wished I could. It's got way more choices than you normally see at a salad bar and everything looks fresh. While you are at this Hy Vee, check out the selection of exotic fruits and vegetables in their produce department. Some of these are varieties I've not seen anywhere else, and I am left wondering why there is a demand for them here.

The salad bar has the biggest selection than any others around. Always fresh, crisp, clean & maintained constantly. One would not be disappointed.

Huge deli selections with freshly prepared foods to eat in their cafe, or to take out. My husband and I shared an Italian panini along with several of their salads. So yummy and fresh. We also ordered pizzas to be picked up later for a family get-together.
