“When I moved cross country a couple of years ago, I needed all new furniture for a brand new home And as soon as I walked into Slumberland furniture, I was greeted by a very warm, bright smile from Dawn! And for the past two years, Dawn has been my go to sales person at the store. What’s also cool , I still have no idea if the sales people work on commission as you would never know it. They’re not those annoying types that jump down on you like vultures in attack mode the second you walk through the door, but they’re there to help you if you have any questions…..which to me shows a well managed furniture store and that is Slumberland.I’ve probably purchased close to $15,000+ worth of furniture, sofas, recliners, love seats, dining room table set and end/coffee tables dressers, television console etc. and threw it all Dawn has been one of the best sales people I’ve had in decades and that’s an understatement! She was always so patient as that first day I spent at least three hours walking through the store changing my mind a few times? but through it, all she was cheerful, extremely patient and knowledgeable. She never talked down to me. She answered every question and was always professional. And most recently, she and the store manager, Heather, who is also excellent, helped me deal with a situation with the company that handles the warranties & they both worked diligently for me, The customer. There are a couple other furniture stores in this town and I’m so glad that I set foot in Slumberland first because I’ve known other people who have spent time in one of the other stores and was not happy with the outcome so I definitely can’t say enough good things about Slumberland . I even passed along this info to my sister, who also purchased a recliner from the store and was very satisfied . Also, I can’t say enough good things about the delivery guys. Each and every one of them were so personable, helpful & didn’t rush through anything -very professional. Back to Dawn? she is one of those sales people that you wish you could run into with any kind of buying/shopping adventure. Just a joy to work with! I can’t recommend her or Slumberland enough!
(Latest Update Fall 2025:)More praise to this amazing store. In short, one of the recliners I had had something loose in the mechanism and since I was past the Slumberland year store warranty, I thought I could rely on the protection plan that they offered & I purchased separately . Unfortunately, months passed and I couldn’t get any helpful response from the company that offers the protection plan, so my local Watertown SD Slumberland store manager HEATHER and Dawn got together and worked on my behalf to get me a replacement recliner. They both were amazing! Not only do they offer beautiful furniture they have one of the best staffs(from the manager to everybody on the floor staff the people who answer the phones and the delivery people) I’ve ever encountered by doing any shopping and that says a lot?”

“Thosten was great!!! He listened to what I was looking for, he let me try 3 different beds with different firmness, asking questions about sleeping positions, etc, told me things about each bed as well as the base. I loved everything about Thosten. His great smile, enthusiasm to get me what I wanted, telling me about the sheets, the protection thing for the bed, visiting while getting things written up, etc. He definitely likes his job. HE HAS DEFINITELY EARNED HIS CHRISTMAS BONUS as far as I am concerned!!! That great smile and big, shiny eyes sure make a person relax and enjoy being there. You have a great employee in Thosten!!!”

When a complication occurred with the installation, Steve, Tyson, and an incredibly detail oriented man whose name I can't recall got to work. By the end of the day, that gentleman (Ryan?) fixed the concern I thought was unfixable. And I'm fussy! Issues will arise sometimes. What matters is the ability to resolve it in a real and timely manner.”
