Forget getting your mail if there's even an inch of snow on the ground. The postal workers will not deliver your mail, even if you've cleaned your porch, driveway, and 6ft front and behind your mailbox. They will claim you are "inaccessible" and skip your mailbox. My neighborhood is up to date nine with clean decks, driveways, and entry to mailboxes. They still claim they "cannot reach" the mailboxes. The centimeters of slush on the street must be too much for them to bother. Lazy.

The last few times I've had a package that required a person be there to pick up, they never actually rang or knocked on my door just came up to the door and left the note, even though im inside waiting for them.

So far in having used this post office, they have lost a package I had tried to send, and messed up my passport application not once, but twice. Avoid this place.

Worst Post Office Ever. Literally refuse to order a package because it usually turns into a 3 day fiasco just to get a parcel key

My son put a ups package into the blue post office box without realizing his mistake. When I found out I called Brandon at the Vermillion post office and he very kindly went out and looked in the boc for me and then he said he would give it to the ups man. I am so very appreciative of kind people who help solve problems. Would 100% recommend doing business with this Post Office in the future.

This genuinely is the worst post office in America. I have had more trouble receiving my mail here than I ever did in New York City or Los Angeles. Don't expect to get your packages. Don't expect to be treated politely. Do expect rudeness and lost mail. I think the carriers only deliver what they feel like delivering. And if they feel like throwing your neighbors mail in your box, they will! It's really a lost cause.

Lousy phone interface makes it impossible to contact a live person & instead cycles you through irrelevant options. I needed to talk to a HUMAN and the folks at Vermillion post office are helpful & fantastic. But you can’t reach them by phone anymore. When the federal govt seems bent on ruining the postal service and private services taking increasing market share, this kind of blocking contact is another mail on the coffin! Disgusted. Peace ☮️

Trying to locate my "delivered" packages has become such a hassle. Twice in two weeks I have had to call the post office to hunt down my packages. Still waiting on the second one, even though I know and they know it's in a lock box down the street. Customer service is also a joke. I would file a formal complaint but they couldn't care less.

Lady that assisted me here was very helpful, even though I was missing an envelope. She got me one real quick and I was on my way. The other counter staff weren't helpful to other people in line, but everyone has bad days.

Package said it was delivered to a postal locker but recipient never received the package. In talking to the post office carrier said it wouldn't fit in the locker so he left it at the recipients door. Post office said they are no longer involved since the carrier dropped it at the door. Recipient was home at the time of "supposed" delivery. So many excuses by the post office it's ridiculous so they don't have to be responsible - maybe a roommate took it even though recipient doesn't have roommate, maybe a handyman took it to the apartment office, maybe a neighbor took it. And then I get a survey 3 days later asking how I liked how they handled my lost package claim and how did they do in their communication with me. No one ever contacted me once I filed a lost package claim.

Before I begin, I should note that I use eBay about once a week and a majority of my packages are shipped through USPS, and that the sellers add an adequate amount of protection (bubble wrap). For the last 4 packages (that I'm aware of), they've either been late, damaged, broken or even all three. I bought two PS4s (one of which I had to return because the console was damaged and the other one came with 10 shattered game cases, both packages were late.) The third package came, yet again, about 4-5 days later than expected, even though those expectations were longer already because of covid. Funnily enough, I even recorded me opening the package because I wrongfully expected the items to be damaged. Lastly, I just received my 4th package today, which surprisingly got here 2-3 days earlier than I had anticipated, however the package was - you guessed it - broken. 2 stars would be too much, however the only positive experience I've had was the two times I've been inside and the staff were super friendly. Drivers, please be more cautious of packages. Even though the items mean nothing to you, we (the customers) are often disappointed, sad or frustrated when we received shattered item(s).

This is absolutely the WORST post office in the entire United States. I've lived all over the country, and this post office in Vermillion SD is worse even than ones I've used in very large cities. The carrier consistently delivers mail for other people to me. TWO (count 'em, 2!) packages for me have gone missing from the post office itself (companies say they showed delivered to the post office.) The people who work there are INCREDIBLY RUDE! I think they only like people who have lived in the town their whole lives. The clerks behind the counter DO NOT WEAR MASKS! The last straw was today, when a company notified me that a package was returned to them because the Vermillion PO said the address was undeliverable. They have my EXACT address! What in the world is wrong with these people! I'm about ready to get a PO Box someplace else, like Yankton or Akron. Does Burbank have a PO? Anyway, THE VERMILLION POST OFFICE IS THE WORST PO IN AMERICA!!!!!
