Very rude staff in the E.R, if Avera was closer and my son wasn’t so sick I’d be there. Don’t work in healthcare if you don’t like your job, sad.

Waiting for my husband to come out of his upperGI and Colonoscopy procedure when they wheeled him out I was disappointed to find not only some trash on the floor but an abundance of dust bunnies in the corner. I understand being short staffed but doing a poor job of cleanliness when you are suppose to be on a sterile environment to fight the possibility of infection is upsetting. If the rooms are not clean what is the rest of the place like. Maybe less fancy statues and pretty pictures and spend a little more on clean environments

Emergency department nurse are so rude and will lie about event in your MyChart even when they at fault. The emergency room gives prison vibe. Go to Avera hospital at least they have principles.

Visited this medical center on 7/19, chest and left arm pain. Was taken in for vitals and an EKG and then was told wait in the lobby. Waited more than 4 hours, without any attention. People arriving after us got help first and still no attended to. After 4 hours we’ve ask when will we be attended to and was told to wait till our turn. We told them we’re leaving because poor assistance and was then told “then leave” unprofessional, which I could gave them O stars, thats what they deserve!

Took SEVEN hours for them to do a 30 min surgery. Then they took my number saying they would message to let me know the status and never did. Then the dr FINALLY called at hour 5.5 to say she was in recovery and would be out in a hour. He ssid he would call back then but never did at 1.5 hours later I had to go search for her since her phone was dead and no one was contacting us. Absolute nightmare of a hospital.

Is it really necessary to treat patients rudely? My daughter has had a horrible experience here from both the doctor and nurses with a recent surgery on her foot! There seems to be no rational humane reason why! In addition she is desperate to get the paperwork done to get short term disability as she has a son and they can’t seem to get it done! She was told that it will take 7-20 days? I can’t imagine any good reason fir doctors and nurses to be so very rude, dismissive, unprofessional and out of touch with a patient’s concerns and needs! Can anyone provide a good reason! This is unacceptable in the rest of the world!

I have used Sanford as my medical provider my entire life (i'm almost 60 years old) but this year after the incredible poor service and attention I received from Dr. Bruce Schultz at the 4th st and Sycamore clinic I am now a patient of Avera. Sanford is in the business of health care and not so much into health care.

I have been a devoted and vocal fan of Sanford for years. The care and kindness was outstanding while my husband fought cancer. When I started suffering with arthritis I , of course sought out aid from Sanford. I waited for over a month to see a Rhumalogist. Yesterday( the week of my appt) I received a letter in the mail tell me that Dr Aikheir was cancelling my appointment due to his adjustments. . This is a despicable way to treat a person. When I called to find out what happened to my appointment there were NO other dates that would work with my daughter who is my driver and there were NO other Rhumalogist available to see me. I am elderly and don't drive and now I don't know what to do with my hand, wrist and finger pain. THANKS SANFORD

I've been waiting for 4 hours and have not been seen. My dr recommended I come here since I was getting worse with my illness. They need a better system here. Since I have been here I have seen people leave.

ERIN ISACKSON the ABSOLUTE worst er nurse I’ve Ever encountered. Unbeknown to me I was experiencing the passing of a kidney stone and because I was moaning and groaning in tears on the floor in the ER waiting room she came over while my vitals were being taken and told me if I wasn’t quiet she would get security to remove me from building and bring me outside.I couldn’t move I couldn’t stand up without feeling like I was going to pass out and when I was crying and said I couldn’t stand up she stood there tapping her foot and said well I’ll fix that and called over 4 security guards. This girl has NO clue and is way to new and power hungry in her position . Completely traumatized. To be in that kind of pain and FEAR being kicked out and not be helped when in that kind of pain is pretty horrific.

The anesthesia management is a complete and utter joke. I have never seen or heard of such copious amounts of unprofessionalism in every way, shape and form. There needs to be a serious look into the anesthesia management here at Sanford, before there are grave mistakes made with their patients. The employees are overworked and underpaid, treated less than human, it is only time before one of the employees makes a mistake in their cleaning process, costing someone their life. I truly hope the board takes even a moment to read this review. The management needs to be investigated by Human Resources. Speaking with employees under their management made me feel sick to my stomach.

I worked at Sanford and enjoyed being part of it. At the time my former physicians moved on from Sanford also so there wasn’t any physicians in the clinic at the time of my daughters death 5 days of bereavement is not enough when you’ve lost a child My co workers even said with no one in clinic another week wouldn’t have made a difference. My co workers were great but they have moved on to better things also if that tells you anything My daughter passed away in August and needed more time to get things in order but to my surprise I was made to resign my position at no choice of my own. I was told I could re apply at a later date if I wanted so I did and surprise got the kiss off letter. The position is still open. I feel I’m being discriminated against now!!! I was forced to resign they did not have enough and I did not have enough points for them to let me go I wasn’t given a choice they made it for me!! I hope that no one has to go through what I did and lose everything at once!! The supervisor I had I thought was a better person but I was wrong!! If you have medical issues, or lose a child don’t apply here for a hospital all that is cared about is money!!!
