I think this would be best for older kids for the butterfly house. I took 3 kiddos 5 and under. My 5 and 3 year old were scared of the butterflies that they would land on them. All of my kids enjoyed the aquarium which had a nice variety. All in all we only spent 45mins here. However, I did see some older kids in the butterfly house that looked like they were having a great time. The worker had given them a necterflower they could bring around and they loved it. So overall I think a great place. A little spendy for the 53 we spent to enter and only spent 45mins. But that's also our family's experience. I do think this is an amazing place to have in sioux falls and the gift shop was reasonably priced and not super inflated like you tend to see.

Was a nice experience, but we were expecting to see more in the aquarium.

Extremely disappointed in the Spooky Seas event. So for the advertisement it says there are treats and the Little Mermaid from 10-2:00. We got there at 12:40 and our daughter has been looking forward to this since they announced that the little mermaid was going to be there. There was nothing indicating that she was not going to be there the whole time. So my daughter goes running in excited to finally meet her and then the staff informs me that we missed her by 10 minutes and it ended at 12:30. When I asked where was that advertised they said it wasn't. The event felt very thrown together and the advertisement was extremely misleading. So instead of a good time I had to comfort my 3 year old who was absolutely devastated thinking Ariel her hero left her. This is the second membership we have had to it and for an everyday visit great place but special events there seems to be some false advertisement.

I took a company guest’s child here on a Thursday morning. There was no wait, and just a few other guests. We spent about an hour, including 30 minutes in the actual butterfly room. The extra $3 for the butterfly feeder is worth it, as it attracted several butterflies right into our hands. The staff is very welcoming, and we particularly found the butterfly room attendant to be very knowledgeable about the quail. The aquarium area is small but it’s pretty cool. We got splashed by a Ray cruising around the edge of the tank. We were a little disappointed that the touch tank was closed. No big deal, but if your kids have their hearts set on touching starfish you’ll want to call ahead. The child I brought was 12, and while we enjoyed it, much of the material is geared towards a slightly younger audience. Overall it was a fine way to spend an hour, although the $36 price tag for the two of us was a lot for the experience.

The conservatory and aquarium are much smaller than anticipated. We were done with the entire building in about 45 minutes. It cost nearly $45 to get in for one adult and two children and were done so quickly. I suppose it was worth seeing once, but I'm not sure we'll be back again.

Just under $30 for myself, my 4-year old, and one feeder. The buttterfly house was definitely super cool. The aquarium was underwhelming but still had some pretty cool marine species for a small place. Overall, I think the butterfly house was worth it in itself. My child thought it was the most amazing thing ever and had the biggest smile.

This is a very small attraction, not quite what I expected after visiting several different butterfly conservatories. The price is the same as the very large places we've been, that might be why my expectations were high! The aquarium is an odd accompaniment to the butterflies and it definitely shows. It's very small with very little variety. The kiddos all loved that you could appear to be in a fish tank but there wasn't much to capture adults attention. The touch tank was all netted off so that left nothing much to do!The butterflies were nice but there didn't seem to really be that many in the house and only a few varieties. Standing in line to get in was one thing but then having to stand in line to leave felt a little claustrophobic!! The staff was not friendly, welcoming or available to interact with, most seemed a bit bored. The fake flowers and nectar seems like a great idea but unfortunately not many folks were having any luck! All in all, it's a nice little attraction to spend an hour or so!

That's how they love kids. No strollers. Carry your kid all around on hands. At the same time, they allow strollers for elderly. Very unpleasant surprise right at the front entrance. If they have posted it on their front page, we wouldn't even bother coming.
