I visited Avera Home Medical today. I was helped by Ashley who did an amazing job in helping fix something that she was not part of. Excellent customer service and with her help I found a new CPAP mask that was a better than the previous! Thanks for your effort it was appreciated!

I helped my father obtain his first walker(s) recently. We worked with Larrene exclusively and she went to great lengths to educate both of us on their proper usage and care and how to safely use them. Additionally, she navigated a typical in-home obstacle path with him to make certain he understood their operation. Larrene notice that my dad is is extremely hard of hearing; she spoke clearly to him and he later commented on how he could understand her every word. Lastly, she helped us obtain a free walker and other supplies by letting us know we could (and should) provide them with a prescription. Especially considering that the sales staff at Avera HME do not work on commission, she was a perfect example of customer service.

After knee replacement surgery I was told to get thigh high compression socks. The day I went in Leslie helped me she's always super friendly with helping me get the right size. I ordered 1 brought 1 15/20 MG and 1 20/30 because the knee high compression socks I had were 15/20 but when she looked on the computer screen she said I have had the 20/30. So I brought both and told her when I get home I will try on the 15-20 MG and if they felt good I would NOT try on the other ones and bring them back and exchange them for the 15-20. When I came back a few days later and told the person that I would like to exchange them to the 15-20 and she said I can't exchange them because they went out of the store, I told her I didn't open the box or the package and she still said I still can't exchange them because they went out of the store. So I'm out of money. I guess for now on I'll buy directly from the company or buy from Amazon!!

Zero follow up with any of the cpap or o2 devices. Consolidated billing of equipment rentals. Instead of monthly, it was 8 months combined making things very difficult for a individual on medicare. Coerced into signing a financial responsibility form without any explanation of what's covered and who will be paying for what and at what cost. Another prime example of overpriced insurance/health needs inflating to make things unsustainable for our elderly, or anyone. This rating doesn't mean squat, but if I had another choice, I would use them instead.Here's a small list of inconveniences1) Nobody followed up for replacement supplies for cpap equipment. I had to call the 33rd n Minnesota store, explain what I needed, then had to wait for a phone call from another individual to finally be able to order new supplies2) got called in to pick up oxygen machine then had to sit for an hour and a half while they got their sh*t together between the doctors office and their own staff. Who scheduled an appointment without all documentation?!3) When told that Medicare would be added to my insurance on December 1, 2022, there would be no issues. 1.5 months later, I get a bill for $350 for cpap supplies due to needing a New sleep study. I should have been informed about the possibility of this when i told them was going on medicare. I could have had the study done and had no billing complications. Pretty sloppy for a company that deals exclusively with insurances.4) Informed staff of state Medicaid coverage ending on July 1, 2022. Got a bill right after the holidays (January 1, 2024. 6 months!) for another $350 because medicaid finally told Avera that I was no longer covered, so cpap supplies and oxygen rental were only partially covered. Once again, this could have been easily explained by the staff of the industry that specifically deals with types of issues.

At the Avera Home Medical Equipment location near 33rd & Minnesota the staff has always been extremely friendly and helpful! We like to thank Sara Kassahun personally for her patience and kindness regarding explaining the equipment for our 81 year old godfather’s oximeter device. His readings did not populate, as he may not have properly had it situated, so she thoroughly walked us through the process. Super helpful. Thank you!

It would be nice to have customer service. Supplies and equipment check ups are very important, especially when it comes to COPD patients who need oxygen 24/7!I am still waiting for someone to help with this oxygen concentrator that is making a lot of noise!!! Call was made Friday morning and no one contacted me as promised. And now you’re closed until Monday! Huge risk for customer with COPD!!!

Avera HME draws patients into a rental plan for CPAP equipment that costs nearly $600 more per year out of pocket than it would cost to purchase the machine outright. They also sometimes bill twice within a 30 day period (i.e. the 7th and the 22nd of the month or the 6th and the 13th). Finally, they robo call and don't answer their phone when you call back. Poor customer service, poor billing practices and horrible pricing... three strikes.

It's an absolute dumpster fire of an organization. The entire process was one of the most frustrating experiences I've had as a customer. But, it doesn't stop with the atrocities of the initial start-up. They don't disclose or provide any information other than hiding things in their paperwork. Customer service is an abomination to customer service. Their prices are SO inflated that they should be reported to the state for price gauging. Please, find any where else to help you with your medical equipment. I continue to use Avera for everything else, but this one area of the entire organization is a terrible representation of this brand.

Insurance would not go through for new Cpap. Been employees at local store just kept saying my Insurance was declined. So called customer care, talked with a very nice lady by the name of Dylan. With in a few minutes she had figured out the problem and Cpap is ready to go. This has been a 2 month ordeal. Just goes to show you when one employee takes the time and put some thought into the problem. Need to give that girl a raise.

I was on vacation and my c-pap mask broke. I was able to have my prescription faxed to Avera Home Medical Equipment on Minnesota Ave and get a replacement mask right away. Great customer service!

Great place for medical equipment needs! They have a huge selection of aids, from socks to chairs. Rick Boeder was so helpful and answered all my questions. He is very knowledgeable about the products they represent. He’s a keeper for sure!Keep up the great work!

I am happy to give this review for Cindy and Rob who work at the Sioux Falls location. I bought a chair from NuMotion in urban dale, IA about 5 years ago. They came once for a maintenance issue and now I am finding out they should have been following up me regularly. I am able to buy a new chair through insurance finally and Avera in Sioux Falls SD . So couple weeks ago when my chair quit working at work. Cindy and Rob quickly arranged for me to have a demo brought to me that evening . Rob brought it and also got my chair working but couldn’t guarantee it would stay running until my new chair comes in so he left the beautiful and most importantly REliAbBLE chair with me! I have never received such wonderful supportive customer service. Thank you so much Cindy and Rob You both are amazing. Tausha
