I had driven nearly a 1000 miles and the first hotel I tried wanted nearly $200 a night. So I moved on and saw Salem had a motel and I stopped there. My first room the AC and TV didn't work. I went to the office and and explained the issues and the owner actually upgraded me to a bigger room! Great beds and pillows are comfortable, and the customer service is off the charts! I would stay here anytime because I feel like I was actually cared for and not just for my money. Definitely if you are headed west bypass Souix Falls and drive the extra 30 minutes and stay here.

This hotel was the most disgusting hotel I have ever stayed at in my entire life. It smelled extremely musty. The floors had not been vacuumed, in, I would guess months, as there was debris and dust, accumulated all along the edges and in the corners of the entire room. Carpet all stained and dirty. Not removing my socks! I have no doubt the bedding had not been laundered. ANY of it! There were stains on the sheets. The pillows were filthy, and did not have pillowcases. Someone left a fork on top of the fridge. The microwave was filthy inside. The bathroom mirror had toothpaste spatter all over it. I slept with my clothes on and stripped the bed of all bedding because I was not about to lay on it. I got zero sleep because all I could think of was that a rodent was going to crawl across my bed in the middle of the night. The fact that they charge $80 for a room like this blows my mind. 80 cents would have been too much to pay for that filth. This hotel doesn’t deserve any stars in my opinion. No effort in even trying to clean the room. Then there’s a note on the door asking you to clean up after yourself. Laughable! How about cleaning it in the first place? Unbelievable!Zoom in on the bathroom vanity and the floors. ?

Nothing fancy. AC worked. TV worked. Beds we pretty comfy. Great customer service! Very friendly and helpful! Quite affordable and convenient for our travels! Would stay here again.

The room was okay, very cramped. But the customer service makes up for everything. I was tired and had been driving for two days and I felt welcomed and they even walked me to my room and asked if it suited my needs. Very good customer service!

Glad to have the room, but dogs barking next door, Heat didn't work, no towels in room, no soap or shampoos, no bulb in the lite, and batteries dead in clock.lite updating would do wonders!

My husband & I stay here one night. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. I would have given it a 3 at this point BUT then the next morning, went to take a shower and there was no water. My husband finally got a hold of the manage who came down with a shower head in hand. He started to say that he just needed to change the shower head and it would be fine. I said, no, there's no water. I had already sponged bath and was dressed when he offers us a room to shower. At this point, no, but then!!! two days later my husband gets an email telling us we owe them money for breaking the shower. Not Possible!! Not to mention there were 8 lamps in the room, 3 of them had bulbs in them and only one was actually plugged in, a coffee pot but no cups or coffee, totally not worth the $60 we were charged.

Excellent accommodations on our way to race mopeds in the black hills. Young man working the counter was very polite. Room was well taken care off. Could bounce a quarter off the bed for sure. Will stay here again.
