You know those movies you see, where there's the cheap motel that's still over priced, the room is about the size of a walk- in closet, and you're amazed if everything works in there? Even though it's a motel, you can clearly tell who's been living there for the past 3 years, and anytime you go outside your room, you know you're better off making it quick and not engaging with anyone because one way or another you'll end up regretting it if you do. And if you're old enough, this might even remind you a little of those rooms that had the quarter operated bed massage. Yeah...

No hot water. This place is one step above homelessness. If you need a spot to use meth and chain smoke cigarettes this is the spot. The woman who runs it is crazy also.

So it was hailing out and I asked the front desk clerk if I could park under the awning (the motel was quite vacant) and he was so nice and said ok. I went to the salon next door and said if I needed to move it I could give him my number and he said it was ok and no worries. I wasn't blocking anything and they could've knocked if so. I was there for 2 hours of services and no knock. When I came out an angry and aggressive Asian woman started screaming at me to move my car immediately. That I couldn't park there and they weren't held liable for damages. I tried to explain that her front desk clerk (who was walking away quickly, not giving me eye contact) said it was ok. She kept screaming, no! No! Move your car! Move your car!. She got very close to me screaming and very hostile. I told her she didn't have to scream at me, that I was moving my car and I would have never without permission. Her husband then yelled just leave and then she yelled just leave and never come back. Get out of here!Even if I wasn't a hotel guest, there was NO REASON to treat anyone like this and so rudely. I was not blocking anybody. 1-2 cars max were in the parking lot and perhaps your employee could take responsibility for the actions he took a few hours prior. He was so nice.These owners are terrifying and awful. Even the salon owner was shocked and scared at her actions.Safety: Not safe at all based on the owners

Older motel, if you are in a pinch for a better priced room for the night, it will do the trick.. we rented 2 rooms. Air was a bit stale coming in but the a/c unit fixed that pretty quick.. beds were comfortable and the rooms and bathrooms were clean. Lot do road noice especially during Sturgis rally but that is the nature of the location..

This place will be our last resort due to a lot of reasons
1) you book a head of time like we always do for a set price of 79 on snap travel each for 2 rooms 1 queen bed 2nd one double bed we get there our rooms was 179 each and they didnt even have us for a double bed room so when asked the lady said they was out only had single left even tho we done had them rooms booked for 3 months they said it's new management 6 days in but knew everyone that came in for the stay also said they wouldn't give us that price due to hand written receipts
2) no coffee maker in room have to wake up walk to office to get a cup
3) we go to take a shower no soap shampoo conditioner had to ask for it ?
4)rooms are very small
5) tv doesn't have but 10 channels and most stay on commercials the whole time
6) you have to clean your own rooms
7) 1 of our rooms smelled of bug spray ?
8) the window in other room was cracked and taped
That being said book if ya want too

Everything is so neglected…How to cheat clients? Just come in Lazy U Motel and you’ll discover it.
Dirty washbasin with hair and hairs, such as the carpet full of spots. Bath tub with colored spots. Outside door cigarette butts are waiting for you. Don’t forget that you are faced the main way to Rushmore Mt. and it’s as noisy as hell. Price? 156$

Rooms are cozy and clean. The staff was very helpful. The shower water pressure was fantastic! But the part I liked the best was the wooden beam ceiling!
