I left a brand new sweatshirt in my room, called the front desk after I left to see if a friend could pick it up and the desk told me “my hands are tied I can’t help you”. I am highly disappointed with their service.

Beautiful historic hotel, appeared pretty clean. They have karaoke on the weekends and a deal on drinks. The pool table and darts in the pool area require change, air hockey is included. Wish they offered breakfast and a decent water fountain. Fair quality for $~100/night, but not the $300/night they charge during events.

Can't say this was a very nice Hotel. We stayed here for the Sturgis bike rally and as someone who has worked in the customer service industry for 8 years I can definitely say that the staff was not very nice. I would be too if every part of the building except the actual rooms didn't have AC! The building is definitely dated. I got to give a point for the furniture just cause I happen to like old Victorian furniture. The AC in the rooms worked pretty good. The beds however were not very nice. They would shake a bunch with every movement and were pretty firm. We found MOLD in our ice bin and the floor was about 90% clean. We heard stories from friends saying that their car got broken into while they stayed here. I don't think we'll be back unless we get some sort of discount.

Old feeling hotel, didn't have any soap or a blanket. It did the trick, and I want to say it matched the price, but I'm not really sure if that's true. Our camp showers and camp site were cleaner and nicer than this, and 1/5 of the price

Very nice staff! Got us in right away after a horrible experience at another hotel. My kids loved the pool and all the games.

We have booked the hotel a day before, unfortunately without reading any reviews. Bad mistake! We drove a full tiring day to reach Rapid City, beautiful place eagerly waiting to get into the room for a good rest. We checked-in but the room, since we opened the door, smelled like mold. Of course the room was hot since the AC was not ON. The outside temp was roughly 93! As soon as the AC went ON the moldy musty smell poured into the room. I went to reception and kindly asked for the room to be changed. I was given another room but the AC did not function at all. Again a trip to reception and the next room was somewhat acceptable. Somewhat because: in all the rooms the carpet looks horrible with stains and dirty. The rooms are dark, very dark like a mortuary. There is no breakfast included also! Ah the smell, all the rooms stink, like there is no air circulation, the stale smell in unused rooms. If you can please avoid this establishment and spend your night elsewhere. One last item, of course the manager is not available and te only person in the hotel is the young girl at the reception.

This hotel and management are a sham. Do not waste your time even considering this as a rest for a night. I would rather stay in a barn filled with manure before I book a room with this so called hotel. They are rude, uninformed, racist and seedy. Do yourself a favor and bypass this hotel if considering a stay in Rapid City South Dakota.

The room was nice in looks, but our room was pet friendly since we have a small dog- it smelled like urine so bad we had to bring our own febreeze in and spray.
Rooms: Our pet friendly room smells like piss.
Food & drinks: The bar was great! Very friendly. Love the BOGO!

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER PLEASE READ
This has been the absolute worst experience I have ever experienced with a hotel. I stayed here for the 4th of July, from Wednesday to Sunday. I arrive after driving 6 hours, and at this point it's midnight. I made sure to check in to our king size room, which is located on the first floor, by the elevators, by the doors where everyone sits outside and smokes cigarettes. I'm thinking in my head, okay, that's fine, I am just so exhausted. I walk into the room, and the AC is broken and BLOOD on the sheets. I am horrified. I walk all the way back to the hotel, where we are changed rooms to the 3rd floor. At this point, it's 1am and my husband and I just want to get some rest. We wake up to housekeeping EVERY MORNING AT 8AM busting down our door, completely ignoring the "Do Not Disturb" doorsign posted outside. Furious, we get up every morning to say to please come slightly later, as we went hiking every day from 10am to 7pm. When we got back at 7pm, we realized there were no towels. I use the hotel phone several times to get in contact with the front desk, no answer. I walk to the front desk where I explain I need towels. Amanda says there are no towels, only "hand towels for washing the face", and proceeds to hand me "buy one get one drink cards". I don't need alcohol, I need to shower. Amanda writes down a note for house keeping to give us towels and to completely clean our sheets. We go to bed with no shower, feeling dusty and sweaty from our hike. Next day after our hike, no towels, no sheets. I went downstairs again, she apologizes and STILL doesn't have towels. This is an endless cycle throughout our trip, and we ended up going to Walmart to purchase towels. I demanded to speak to the manager, and Amanda says that he is not in, but will be in Monday morning, conveniently when we are leaving. I call Monday morning, the manager isn't working until the overnight shift from 11pm to 7am. Are you joking me? I need to be compensated for my horrendous experience, at least waive the cleaning fee. If this were the case, I would've stayed at an Air BNB to be able to BATHE myself. But hey, I got a drink card! Absolutely disgusting. Gross, but if you want a hotel with no towels and bloody sheets and a wake up call at 8am every morning with cigarette smoke by your window, go for it!

Great hotel! It has an indoor swimming pool, water slide, and hot tub. It has large, clean rooms with a reasonable price. Overall, a great hotel!?

This hotel is horrendously outdated. The carpet is old, worn, and has a sticky feel to it when you walk. The room had a horrible off smell, I sprayed the room down with Febreze but it barely helped. There was outdated goodwill furniture in the room. The bathroom was outdated with dirty tile and a stained drop in tub. I have no idea who thought it was a good idea to put a dropped ceiling in a bathroom, but there was no head room in the shower. The towels were old and thread worn.
I just felt uncomfortable and dirty. Through the whole night I felt like bugs were crawling on me. It definitely was not a relaxing night.
At night there was some sketchy activity going on with random teens and the cops. The side door to the building doesn’t lock and when I was coming in a group of 3 individuals entered before me and were able to pull the door right open. They were joking with themselves that they weren’t even staying in the hotel.
The hotel staff was nice and respectful, and the bed had clean sheets.
Overall though, I would stay elsewhere. I made a mistake and didn’t read the reviews.

This is the absolute worst place I have EVER stayed at. They charged me 2 months before my visit and wouldn't offer a refund due to a need to change. Therefore, we went on the date asked and prepaid the room. Then when checking out we found that they charged us AGAIN!!!! I have called to dispute the charge with my credit card company. The rooms were VERY old and extremely dirty. We asked for towels many times but were told they didn't have any. It smelled like mold and the bathroom was moldy in the corners. The card keys kept losing their magnetic ability to unlock the door and then we were told they didn't have record of us staying in the room we were in when we went to reprogram our keys. The second night we opened our door and a business card fell out from a probole officer. When we went to report it they said it was from a few nights before. It was an absolute nightmare staying here. Totally ridiculously unprofessional, rude, and very uninformed staff. Will NEVER stay here again!!!!
