We stayed there recently and when we left the manager charged us 150 dollars for having a small dog we had dog pads and the dog never even messed in the room. Very disappointing hotel to stay at very dirty rooms and hotel very under staffing went to breakfast at 7am was already out of food. We will never stay there again.Rooms: Rooms were very filthy and had bed bugs.

We booked this hotel for the sole purpose of tiring out the LO with the pool and slide. The slide was out of order so huge bummer. The hotel was very dirty overall and breakfast was disappointing. The rooms were filthy, broken lamp shades, tears in the sheets and very thin blankets on the bed. I would not stay here again.

Not impressed with these motels. Usually poor maintenance and quality of the rooms. Surprisingly informed of a $250 deposit at check-in but didn't get charged on my credit card when I checked so I continue to check my credit card for charges I haven't made.

This hotel was a very nice stay. For the price I absolutely loved it! You get comfortable rooms and a very good breakfast in the morning. Not to mention it has a water slide! I 100% recommend this place it made my stay in Rapid City perfect!

The place was great, staff was friendly but the breakfast options were not friendly to those who can’t have dairy, gluten or high amount carbs. I just ended up buying some small basic breakfast groceries to keep in a cooler so my daughter could eat.Nearby activities: Mall is down the road. Not to far of a drive from places like Mount Rushmore, Reptile Garden, and Dinosaur Park.

Honestly this hotel is disgusting. First off the hallways smell like a peed on bus stop, the sheets in our room were not clean, nor the floors, the fridge was so frozen over with ice the door would not close, the window (on the second floor) doesn’t have a screen on it, and the curtains don’t close fully over the window leaving you completely exposed to bright street lights and for anyone across the street to see you, lastly the doors are paper thin leaving you to hear every single coming and going. Extremely disappointed. Normally Econo Lodge is a safe chain. Not this one.Dear “Management,”Rather than just saying sorry for all the complaints on the reviews maybe just go clean the rooms.

This place is ridiculous. There is mold, stains, cigarette burns, ripped curtains and electrical concerns. There was a window pane completely missing on a room, a ripped curtains and another shattered window before we even entered. It smells like curry and the paint job is landlord special 1.0. This was booked through work so I did not read the reviews. I wish I had. All of the apologies are generic and Im sure this review will get the same. They are not going to change.Update: Everytime we went past the desk there was a new guest with complaints. And I find the 5 star review from a day ago suspicious because the water slide was out of order and I was just there. I forgot to mention you can't close the shades, so if you are sensitive to light whether it be the sun or street lights, not a good choice.

Update: as of 09/26/23 I still did not have any updates on the refund status. The manager replied on 09/19/23 that it will be investigated. I am still waiting.ECONO LODGE RAPID CITY SD. We made reservations through Priceline. Worst check-in experience, it took us more than one hour to complete. They gave us rooms that were not cleaned. They told us one room does not have AC work. Finally, after all the struggle we were able to check-in with front desk collecting my credit card details for incidentals ($139.78). On the day of checkout, they took the room keys and said the money would be refunded within a few business days. However, they did not issue a refund. I called the hotel multiple times and spoke to three different agents at the front desk. I was told that they cannot issue a refund and they need to talk to the manager and get back to you. This has been a struggle. The amount to be refunded is $139.78. No refund yet. Recommend NEVER check-in to this hotel again. It is a trapper.

What a nightmare!!!!Booked a week here. When we showed up, we were told that our king bedroom wasn’t even clean cause the housekeepers ran out of time and therefore we were going to get another room. We get demoted to a double queen room. What I didn’t understand is that why weren’t the booked rooms prioritized first to be cleaned? Whatever.Next day we get the room we booked so we grab our luggage and go across the hotel to our room. Not a good start to our first day.We notice things right away, stains all over the curtains, chairs, walls. The surfaces were really sticky. The hallway looks like it hadn’t been vacuumed in weeks, and the smell of weed all over the building was noticeable. Our AC unit look like it had spills on it and was FULL of mold. How is that not a safety concern?Breakfast was a joke. Nothing is replenished and there was no options whatsoever. Every table was dirty so we ate what we could find in our rooms.Hot tub was out of order. We love hot tubs and we book out hotels based on that being available.Side door entrance didn’t work (was told the battery was dead) so most people used the rug to jam it open, so the door was always available to whoever. Anyone could get in at this point, safety concern.Overall, I don’t recommend this place to anyone. The staff were friendly tho, that’s honestly the only good thing here. I’ve tried to talk to a manager to express some concerns but he was nowhere to be found during business hours. And I’ve tried multiple times. Hopefully people can zoom in the AC photos provided.Overall I should’ve looked at the reviews first… now that I have, I’m seeing a pattern. Everyone having a bad experience and mentioned similar things that I just did for many months And the exact same response from the “manager”, that they’ll improve now that they “know” the issues. Nope. Just nope.

When we got up to our room, there was dust everywhere, hair in the bathroom and a light out. The floor hadn't been swept and had crumbs all over. The furniture was scratched and scuffed. I was laying on the bed and a wasp flew out from behind the curtain and then there were a couple June bugs on the window. I decided then to read the reviews because my husband had booked the hotel. And I saw the bed bug review so I made my husband check our bed. Both of us and my 5 month old had been laying on it. After that I said I wasn't sleeping here. I went down to the desk with the keys and told them about the bugs and that I wasn't going to let my daughter sleep in that room. The receptionist was nice and understood my concern. She cancelled the reservation and didn't charge us any fees. ? That was the best part of the hotel, she was friendly and listened. We walked past the indoor pool and hot tub. You could see all of the junk in the hot tub because it was sitting on the bottom. The pool was painted blue inside so you couldn't see if the pool was dirty. The slide looked sketchy. I had been excited to swim.

The pool was super cold for 2 days and then sauna hot the 3rd. The microwave in my room didn't work. The continental breakfast was lacking. It was not an experience I am willing to go through again. I will say it was centralized between local activities.

Booked online and when we arrived they tried to jack the price then tried to give us an occupied room. When it rained the room flooded because of the gap under the door. Wobbly toilet, broken lamps, broken doorlocks, I could go on and on about this dump but you get the idea. One good point is the waffles were good.

We came here at 4AM and definitely appreciate them getting us a room at such a late time. However, we got a floor on the main level which was barely cleaned and was obviously used as a pet room.Dog hair, dead bugs, and one sad roll of toilet paper with no replacement.Convenient? Sure. But you’re best going somewhere else and actually getting your moneys worth.

The location is truly the saving grace of this place. We drove 8 hours, got in to check in and the front desk woman was frazzled to the nines and was telling everyone the hotel was overbooked and telling people to reach out to wherever they booked to get refunds. I finally got my turn at the counter and promptly pushed for my room because I had made my reservation weeks prior. She then proceeded to shhh me multiple times. I would have lost it at that point had she not then found us a room to be in. This turned out to be lackluster because after entering our room, the a/c wasn't working. Mind you, it was an excess of 90 degrees this particular weekend and we paid to be there for 3 nights. Luckily, the next morning someone new was at the desk and she found us another room with working a/c. Overall, the hotel seemed pretty run down. Lights flickering, stains everywhere, random broken doors and appliances sitting in hallways and stairways. One of the exterior doors wasn't working with the room keys. We plan to visit rapid city again someday but we will never stay at this hotel again.

Most lights did not work. One mattress had a big hole the other one super stained. No one monitoring the breakfast area, it got super messy. Bathroom sink was clugged and took for ever for the water to go down. Front desk person was nice. I hope we don't take bed bugs
