“We stayed at Sunset Lodge Aug 2024. The food...Hands down amazing I loved the Flat Iron Steak, and Chicken Fried Chicken the night before..YUM!! Drinks and company are top notch! We went with Kelly our fishing guide and he had us over the fish all day. 100% this place is worth the drive. Tom & Char are top notch!”

“We spent 3 nights at the lodge in a cabin last week, Brandon upgraded us to a larger cabin since it was off-season and it was wonderful. The staff, food and accommodations were all great! Thanks for all your hospitality, we will definitely be back!”
“Very nice and hospitable inn. Clean and good sized rooms. Pretty courtyard area and if you are able to reserve a room on the first floor you MUST get one with convenient access to the courtyard. You’ll have your own little porch ? with small shade trees. The pool is perfect for kids…. with an awesome slide! They (thankfully) have a hot tub too!!! As I stated the rooms are nice and big with all the amenities, fridge, microwave, sitting area and plenty of space for EVERYONES suitcases ?. The breakfast was above par on the basic complimentary style, but what really took it up even another notch was the nice red earthenware dishes, real stainless steel flatware and the nod to cleanliness and detail. (This is a make or break for our family) If you’re staying in the beautiful capital of Pierre, South Dakota this is where you must stay! ????”

“Easy to get to, right next to the river. Beautifully remodeled - looks fresh and was very clean! The pool area was a hit for our family - the little kid pool area with 1.5 ft of water was perfect for our youngest to splash in! We didn’t eat breakfast, but it looked awesome.”

“Our stay at the Hitching Horse was top notch! The 1905 historic building was in immaculate condition, the decor absolutely stunning, the room we had was beautiful and the king sized bed, best sleep EVER! The shower was amazing! Our host Deb was gracious and amazing! The breakfast Deb prepared was delicious. The entire place, inside and out was super clean. Thank You Deb! You are Amazing! We look forward to staying at the Hitching Horse on our way back home!”
